Yeah he could have said get lost but when Stefan said, "I need your help," he went there. He was trying to control his own reaction to the blood from Elena's wounds when he told her she needed to leave.

In this show vampires still eat and drink as you've already seen. They digest food and drink as normal, even though as with coffee, it serves other purposes as well as being a tasty drink. I suspect eating and drinking also makes them feel more human. Having an urge for chocolate takes away their vampire cravings. They don't have to eat. I guess the thought of being able to eat as much as you want without gaining weight would be way too tempting. Not sure if the taste of food is diminished. We learn vampirism changes a person by magnifying their personality traits. Everything is heightened, which at first is probably quite overwhelming. Some people probably have a far better time adapting than others, depending on their mindset. As much as I understand Stefan's sentiments with regards to Vicki feeding from humans, I'm not sure about his method for a brand new vampire. To control herself, Vicki needed to learn how to stop. It's no good having that urge and not being able to control it if someone cuts themselves. For an older vampire like Stefan, maybe; but for a new vampire, they would need to learn that self-control. By denying her the human blood, he made her want it more. She was trying to fight it, but without learning to control herself around it, she never stood a chance. Although I thought it was a bad idea what Elena did for Jeremy, if I'd have been in her shoes, I'd have done exactly the same. I think Damon realised he'd messed up and it was his fault that Vicki died. The only way he could even slightly make amends was to help erase Jeremy's memories. There was another reason you didn't consider. If Jeremy knew about vampires, he might tell someone, so Damon was also covering his tracks. Damon is also aware Elena is a compassionate and forgiving person. Therefore when she had a go at him, I think it made him think about his actions (a little bit). The fact that Elena is fearless around Damon and has now slapped him twice (I think Nina accidentally hit Ian in this episode during that scene), means he's got a bit of respect for her. He can't bully or scare her. Also, as she looks like Katherine, I'm not sure if he can hurt her either, although Elena doesn't know that. There are a lot of events in this town. Especially right now as it is the 150th anniversary of the town. But, on this occasion, Halloween will always get a pass. This is the second school event, which seems about normal for when I was at school (in fact we'd have had more by Halloween). Great reaction. It's late so I'll react to the next one either tomorrow or Tuesday (I might be quite busy tomorrow). Looking forward to it. Take Care. Stay safe, stay healthy. x

My opinion on the Damon thing: he actually has a heart haha! I think he takes responsibility for what happened to Vicki, which is why he came when Stefan called in the first place. He also saw how distressed Elena was, and it's not very hard for Damon to erase Jeremy's memory. I think there is a possibility he was hoping to cash on in on this "favor" later, but I think everything else I mentioned outweighs that.
