I don't think it's a spoiler to say Damon is a very funny character. Their brotherly bond before things changed was clearly one of them being extremely close. Their bond is very much replicated in real life, Paul (Stefan) and Ian (Damon) have just released a brand of bourbon together.Damon's claim that only he is allowed to kill Stefan, strikes me as saying nobody else is allowed to hurt Stefan. An indirect way of being the overprotective older brother without actually saying it. That is just my take. A woman of standing have sexual relations with a man in 1864 is highly shocking; carrying on with both brothers is extremely scandalous. I think that tells you a lot about Katherine's character. In a way, she was doing the same with Stefan and Damon as what Damon was doing with Caroline. The only difference was her motives. This is the episode where they start to up a gear with the pacing. What I do like about this episode is Elena's reaction. It is so much more realistic than Bella's in Twilight. The books for this show came a long time before the Twilight books. These ones were originally written in the early 1990's. The first one even predates Buffy, so they didn't copy anything. However, the books are very different. These first few episodes are explaining and showing the basic mythology and lore around vampirism. I like how vampires are created in this show. It makes a lot of sense. I also love Damon's concern for his couch. Great reaction. Time for bed. Looking forward to watching the next ones. Take care, stay safe, stay healthy. x

yeah I really like the show's concept of vampirism it's much more realistic compared to anything I've ever seen before. and it doesn't feel cheesy at all. and for the brothers I would love to see them explore their relationship more. stay safe

Up till now I was kind of struggling with this series, but I’m really getting into it. That is definitely due to your reaction Princess! I was hurting for Stefan, he’s apologizing so much for the choice he made way back and what it’s meant. Can you imagine being put in a situation where you have an almost impossible choice and then you have to apologize for what you chose....forever. Hey want to go to the movies and see Underworld? Sure! Wait! you’re a what now? Heck no.!! ... I’m sorry... I’m sorry we can do Pitch Perfect. The alternative might be Damon or Katherine who ‘didn’t do bored’. So I’m not sure that was Katherine’s original character. Maybe she was old like vampire old and was really bored and jaded with everything. It would be hard to have ‘new’ after a few hundred years of being the same age. As for making Stefan and Damon enemies? What are the chances one vampire could find another vampire that they love, and could continue to love, forever. If someone took that away it would be a huge thing to overcome. Way lesser things have split up brothers. What is kind of scary is how easy it is to think Damon is totally cool and Stefan is a bit agricultural, before I think of the downsides. No more Frosted Flakes for breakfast, oh and constantly cleaning the couch. 🤷🏻‍♂️
