"It's great that as my fake girlfriend you know me so well!!" is such a great line. It connects these last two pages very well that they feel like one long page. Not getting Tess' thoughts in this scene is itching me a little. Is she trying to avoid the conversation? She was doing that. But now that it is here, is she verbalizing her actual thoughts on the manner or still deflecting? There is value in picking and choosing when to fight injustice, putting your energy and effort where it matters. Convincing on barista and a room full of cafe dwellers might not be the best energy investment for Tess. She has to put up energy to put up with this all day after all. But it might also be that her ethos is to avoid confrontation at all costs. To let her presence be the disrupting force that eventually leads to normalization. I think that might be where this is. I vaguely remember a flashback about her mom? telling her she'd be a representation of her kind? Very curious to see where this goes.

She tries so hard to be a model minority, and I completely understand, but I do also imagine the, "Aren't you tired of being free all the time? Don't you want to go apeshit?" meme with her in it and be being the whisperer. Or Tess. I feel Tess would very happily fill that role
