Pamela Dean is one of the most diffident writers on the planet, she finds self promotion almost impossible and has delegated writing this brief bio to the narrator of Or What You Will, Fortunately he loves her work and can tell you she is the author of Tam Lin, a novel about college as secret garden, the trilogy The Secret Country, The Hidden Land, and The Whim of the Dragon which should be read by everyone who ever enjoys both portal fantasy and Shakespeare, The Dubious Hills, one of the most philosophically interesting and difficult to describe novels ever, and Juniper Gentian and Rosemary which has telescopes and time travel. Going North which is a sequel to both the Secret Country trilogy and The Dubious Hills is forthcoming shortly.  This story is from the first chapter of a new novel called The Wolf Far Hence which will be a companion to Going North. 

She has written a tiny handful of short stories, some of which are collected with some by Patricia C. Wrede in the collection Points of Departure.
