Howdy Folks,

The Wilds of Doaden are a dangerous place, even beyond the haunted ruins and dark enclaves lies all manner of monsters waiting to pounce and feast upon an unwary traveller…

As is tradition, we’re pleased to reveal the fruits of your last community choice, alongside voting for February!

Let’s see what awaits in the Wilds of Doaden –

In this release, we wanted to present some ‘simpler’ terrors – no maniacal sorcerers with complex schemes, or long dead warlords with an immortal desire for vengeance, instead, we wanted to offer up some good, honest, critters whose simple wish is to eat you for supper.

But that isn’t to say we’ve gone for something staid and standard… Absolutely not, instead, we’ve got BUNNIES.

Check out these lagomorphic leapers, starting with the Rabbit King (or Queen?) we’ve got a gorgeous little herd of these creepy critters in the works. Twisting your ankle after stepping in a hidden burrow suddenly sounds a lot more frightening…

Next, we have a strange, solitary predator prowling onto the scene. The exact nature of this beast is uncertain, could it be a spirit of the plains? A child of Baphomet, cast out from the dark forest? Or something altogether different?

Here’s the centrepiece of the collection. You’d better pray this rooster’s mighty call isn’t the thing that wakes you from a fitful slumber in the wilds… This beast is going to be absolutely enormous – right now it’s looking to fit on a 100mm base, it’s gonna be a helluva bird.

Lastly, the mighty Cockatrice might be so ornery on account of it’s wayward younglings. Although only freshly hatched, these chicks boast a fearsome appetite and will travel far from the nest to find their next meal. We’ll be sculpting a pair of these charming ‘lil birds to join papa.

So, that about covers our first reveal for the Wilds of Doaden – is it what you were expecting? Let us know what you think in the comments below! And don’t forget, make your voice heard in the next round of community voting HERE.

We’ll get back to you next week with a peek at January’s second release – the Accursed Ettin Tribes!

Cheers,

Bestiarum Team
