Unbelievably, there are actually 1800 people in here now. As promised: here's the playlist of Minecraft videos I made circa-2011.

There was a period during high school when I'd come home every day and play Minecraft while watching the previous night's Daily Show and Colbert Report. I didn't stick with survival, nor did I have much interest in multiplayer- instead, I was really just interested in building my own massive structures in my own private world. I can't remember when I decided I wanted to make them into videos, but it was the early era of Minecraft YouTube and I'm sure I had dreams of going viral.

As a matter of fact, my first video in the series actually got 20,000 views before I had ever made an essay. I assumed it would forever be my most successful video. Fittingly, it's also about Shadow of the Colossus (lol). It may be disappointing to some that my high school voice isn't squawking commentary to these; I was very insecure about my voice for a long time and was scared of being roasted by online commenters. There is one instance of me talking though- skip to the "underground city" one for that.

Anyway, thank you all again, and also there'll be a new video on Friday.

Ye Olde Minecraft Videos

Thanks to hitting a Patreon Milestone, here's the first game content I ever made: a series of videos showing off my creations in Minecraft.

Minecraft will always be something truly special. To this day, I can make a world or join a server and relive some nostalgia. It will always be a safe, fun place to come back to. Even when other games steal your soul (looking at you League of Legends), Minecraft is always packed away in a blocky corner of my heart. It is always something to come back to. Even when they add a ton of stuff, you can choose to interact with it or not. There's something in it for just about everyone. It's the only game I can think of that is so fun for everyone. It's such a cultural phenomenon, and honestly, the game has earned that status.

These are great, such cool structures. On can see you were already keen on dreamlike scenarios :) Agree with Erin, Minecraft is a world where you want to come back sooner or later. I always wanted to make some videos about my own private worlds but I never pushed myself enough to do it feels good to come back from time to time though, improve something here and there, activate things, give a little life to the world once again.

It sounds strange than you were self conscious about your voice. I believe you, but your voice is so nice that the idea of you being self conscious about it seems absurd in my mind.
