Hello darling patrons! I thought I'd give something a try and post a hot tip on Tuesdays – something I wish I knew earlier in my career that I have learnt along the way.

Today's tip is...

STOP THINKING OF LIGHTING AND POSING AS SEPARATE ENTITIES!

We often see courses for "lighting" and workshops for "posing" (also guilty of separating this two for content ease), but when shooting your clients you need to think of the two in RELATION to one another.

You can put a client in a pose but if it's not lit with intention, it will fall flat.

More tips on how to consider your light + posing as two sides of the same coin:

✦ Your lighting should be your first consideration when posing a client

✦ AND should be considered throughout your posing process

✦ Walk around your studio space and monitor the ground or wall for where light falls, place your client here

✦ Always think of your lighting triangle (you + your client + your light source)

✦ If you haven't seen my content on the lighting triangle – hit up that search bar!

✦ Lighting and posing do not happen without one another – lighting should be considered as one of your posing components
