We’ve been picking away at stegoball, but have been silent about it… mainly because I got swallowed up by Pixeljam's latest published game Nova Drift. That’s finally released though, so I am free to swing back into the dinoverse.

Here are the things!

- All Patreon patrons above the $7/month level will also get Nova Drift. I will send out keys tomorrow (Friday)

- Stegoball is approaching what we call Alpha+. Here is the latest changelog:


Version 1.17-8B

• Parallax backgrounds!


Version 1.18-8C

• Level sequenced dynamically, not manually anymore

Randomizing terrain sequences in Unity - notice the backgrounds, way in the back :)


Version 1.18-8E

• Random Level generation (non-weighted).

• Bottom text shows level length + random seed


Version 1.19-8F

• Random level seed is a 6 digit number

• Minor tweaks to movement and camera

• Performance tweaks, should run faster

• 16-bit era resolutions simulated -- use "[" and "]" to affect zoom level

• Using new PhysX version, so physics (and playability) are bettter

• Holding doing before and during jump affects stego physics

Next steps, getting new terrain chunks in the game. We have a lot of terrain that was never used from previous Dino Run-related projects, and some of it will fit nicely in Dino Run 2 with some tweaking. Here are a few candidates:
