I love how grounded this feels. They are 2 people who feel a connection with each other, but exist in a heteronormative environment where them being overly friendly after the initial kiss feels risky. There is a weight to their interactions while they work to understand what they are experiencing with each other. Pre kiss, sitting together sharing headphones is innocent, but post kiss the fear of being exposed, of getting caught, is a burden they aren’t ready to deal with.

I think Ji Hyun said he went to an all boys school in the first episode so that might be why he's uncomfortable around girls.. Also coming from a small town where everyone probably know each other, to go to Seoul where you have to either approach or be approach by others can be a bit transgressive.. And I think he's just an introvert..
