It's good to be back! Vacation was much needed, and I definitely feel rejuvenated. Not all of the team is back yet, but this shouldn't affect our releases for now. A month from now you may see a slow down temporarily, but that's about it.
With the new Sindel model, I knew we had to give her another go. The staff surprised me with a couple things while working on the lighting and rendering, and I have to say that I was quite impressed by the time I made it to post. Well done, team.
With the new year, my gameplan's next step for the studio is to release 3 animations a week from SFM, and 2 from Blender. I think if we can maintain 5 videos a week as well as put out a studio release every couple of months... well, we'll be operating at peak efficiency. 5 videos was the most I ever released on a weekly basis back when I ran Dark Dreams by myself, and that was when our videos were a mere 5 seconds long at most. Now with a full team on hand, our weekly releases are between 45 and 60 seconds in length. 5 releases would be astounding. It will take some time to get our workflow and rhythm set in stone between everyone here at the studio, but it will be well worth it if that means a little slowdown now. Yes, this is something I have had in mind for sometime now and even mentioned before previously, but that was before my nerve was pinched and put me out of commission for a while, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas.
