I apologize for the wait in posting this. I've had a very busy day, and normally would have posted in the morning but didn't have the time. Procrastinating Lazily was gracious enough to throw this together for us last minute. I love how it turned out, and I love that we had the opportunity to give you a character we hadn't worked with before, in Blender no less! 

I personally want to thank you all on behalf of the studio, and wish you the happiest of holidays. We'll be back in a week.

Ah well that's a shame. Unfortunately you can tell that it was thrown together last minute. Still hoping for some of the other Christmas themed animations of them.

When I said that Procrastinating Lazily put this together last minute, I did not mean that the production of the video in VR itself was last minute; only that they were nice enough to set up an animation in Blender for us on the spot as another collaborator we had scheduled with had to back out. Now I'm curious what you dislike about this video so much. Feel free to share specifically how "you can tell that it was thrown together last minute" so that I can better the quality of our videos as whole. I'd appreciate the specifics.

Well I guess my criticism was a bit harsh. It doesn't look terrible or anything like that. It's mostly the character model that's bothering me. The animation is good, the setting too. But the model looks really low res/low detail and has some rough edges. Almost looks like it was made in SFM. And that's just not what I expected from LazyProcrastinator hence my assumption that it looks a little rushed. The clothes are a nice touch though. However I did look up some (the few there are) animations with this character and it seems the model just isn't that great. At least it looked pretty meh in most of them especially compared to other DoA models which I find look extremely good. I suppose that doesn't really help you guys in particular and maybe I'm just disappointed that we got this instead of the other anims that I personally like much more but oh well.

I appreciate your reply, and the thought and time you put into it. The model isn't perfect, no. And most of the stuff you've seen from LP for the holidays was likely created after they sent me this Kanna session a month ago (that's how far ahead we actually plan and work to get these videos out on time!) so unfortunately this will be all you get. BUT, on the plus side that means these existing animations will all be available for next year, and by then we will be more knowledgeable, faster, and (maybe) even have better versions of the models. Don't worry about if this helps us now or not. Criticism is welcome here. I don't want people to feel they will be judged or attacked for speaking how they feel. Yes, we do have our fans who rush to defend us, and while I appreciate them doing so (I'm thin-skinned and I hate it!) I want us to improve as a whole. AND that means receiving criticism with an open mind. Thanks for your support, and thanks for explaining what you meant. Keep the criticism coming, and keep it just as detailed so we can use it to improve!

Well I guess there is much to look forward then. :3 PS: I find your openness very refreshing. Criticism is often viewed as an attack these days even when it's meant constructively. (although my first comment was really subjective I guess...)
