Looks like the smaller case didn’t last too long!!

I’m planning a video about different types of sequencers for your modular so had to get a few to demo ... which meant another, larger case..

I feel all the warning s were true it’s a never ending money pit!!

Time to try to think of a logical layout for the demos... then pick a sequencer, sell the rest, and move back to the smaller case. What the chances of that actually happening?? It’s a plan, but I’m not hopeful ;)

I’ve got the Turing machine with the volts expansion, quint bloom, sequential switch make noise Rene a quantiser and the new Erica synths black... which I think is a strong contender!!

Turing is variations on random, qu bit mid programmable with random, rene is programmable with some random style interactions on the xy axis, sequential switch is another take on sequencing, and the black js 4 tracks of all sorts...

There are a couple of oscillators, elects a and the wave table... maybe need another to show off the black to it’s best- the endorphins furtherrr generator I had previously had 2 really crackly pots so returned (the eBay seller then put it up for sale again in ‘mint’ condition!!)

Right then... of we go...

Just been playing with both the plaits and monsoon... trying to get a decent demo for the Erica Synths Black Sequencer which I’ve got my hands on ... very nice it is too - v v flexible and easy interface. Anyway, pretty much what Bruce says. They sound fine, tiny knobs never make for a great experience, but the jak Plugg plaits I got was £120 new! And smaller means more room in the rack. I ve also got an Elements clone which is full sized, and I can’t say the experience is THAT much better. I’m just not 100% on whether the clones are ripping off mutable - even though based on freely available software. Quality is great, useability fine, price is better!

Thanks gents - the input is very much appreciated. Yeah it's a very strange one with the Modular clones. If this was software you'd say these were potentially 'pirated' copies, but as the designs & software are freely available they seem to be fair game. It's good to have the choice I guess. All my other modules are originals so I may give the NanoRings & uTides modules a go to see how they compare.
