There are some very deep cuts here. A couple of the characters you saw here were actually from Doctor Who comic strips that ran in the 1980's and later Big Finish, but never were canon before so this will be the first time a character from a spin off joined the main show (spoilery hint: One of them is the gremlin).

Two big questions I have for the 60th are: 1. How many past Doctors will be in it? It's traditional for the show's 10 year anniversaries to have Doctors meet each other. Will it be only Tennant, or will others appear? Amid all the announcements of who will be in the special, past Doctors have been asked by reporters if they'll be in it and to my knowledge they've all been carefully noncomittal. I suspect we'll see other past Doctors, perhaps connected to whatever happened to cause the Doctor's clothes to change at the same time as the regeneration. Which brings me to: 2. Who is Neil Patrick Harris playing? My money is on the Celestial Toymaker, for two reasons: he's exactly the sort of villain who could be messing with the Doctor by causing the strange regeneration, and there's that shot in the trailer of someone going into a creepy toy store. Now that Paula's able to indulge in visiting all the fan sites she wants, the Gals can look up the character, but the short version is the Toymaker is Q, except far more malevolent. He only appeared once in the Classic series, in a very mediocre story, but the character was so memorable that fans have wanted to see him get a better showing for decades. A script for the Toymaker's return was in the works during the 6th Doctor's era, but the 18 month hiatus scuttled the plan. As for the Gals' channel going forward: more Classic, please! Paula said in the reaction to "Terror of the Autons" that she'd like to see more of that season-- that'd be a great choice. Or just start from the beginning, I'd be with you even through the blandest of past episodes (*cough* Sensorites *cough*). There's enough content to keep the "Gallifrey Gals" name well-justified through all the long wait for more new episodes.

For the plans going forward I'd love to see some reactions to things like the Sarah Jane Adventures. It contains a few characters I would honestly love to see return like Luke and Clyde.

I flipped, spent 30 minutes getting a box out of the closet to put a picture of the first issue in the spoilers discord channel 😊 because I was so tickled by how well realized they are and immediately recognizing them, felt cool like when I got surprised with the modern animated Sea Devil trailer. The fascinating part is I was super currious to see people react to it, but I was issolated to the fan awarness (Big Finish apparently) so simultaneously let down when TOO many recognized it and maybe weren't shocked? 😅 just no pleasing me.

And Rani! She was my fave on SJA! (Plus, the actress that plays her -- Anjli Mohindra -- is the long-time girlfriend of Sacha Dhawan, so she's still got one foot in the Whoniverse door, so there's hope! That and she was the Skithra Queen as well, but not very recognizable there, of course!)

Donna’s ending as a regular companion was the biggest tragedy on the show, and I am counting the various deaths we have witnessed such as Adric as comparisons. I was so heartbroken that she was back to her pre-Doctor self that I wept. If they can restore her, hell yeah, I am all in.

Unfortunately no one seems to know who has the rights to using the Rani since Pip & Jane Baker died. Back in the day the writer who created the character (or the estate) had to give permission to reuse characters later - Terry Nation's estate gets credited every time Daleks are used but when the Bakers died no one is sure where the rights to the Rani passed to. There was actually some difficulties in creating the Kate Stewart character since technically it infringed on the copyright holders for her father's character and there were 2 different writers estates involved (glad it was settled)!

I'm wondering if we're going to see the new TARDIS interior during Tennant's 14th or will we still be seeing Jodie's version that bit longer. Gallifrey Gals, as this is the 60th year would love for you two, after seeing more classic stories, to eventually react to the 10th and 20th Anniversary stories which are The Three Doctors and The Five Doctors respectively. Would also be great to see at least one classic regeneration story going into the 1st story of that next incarnation. One of my favourites is the 3rd into the 4th.
