The actress wasn't in First Contact, the movie. She was in First Contact, the episode. Its the one where Riker is injured and discovered on that planet. I think she plays "Minister Marista Yale". Riker is hospitalized and it creates problem for the ruling party as they come to terms with there being other worlds. Oh, and an alien has sex with Riker

If you all are considering any new Gallifrey Gals t-shirt designs, may I suggest “Romulan Is the Word You’re Looking For,” “No Shit, Sherlock” and “Geez Louise.” This episode definitely stretches the conceit of the universal translator, as I doubt Deanna speaks perfect Romulan. Additionally, the explanation as to why they chose to abduct and surgically alter Deanna, rather than use a sympathetic Romulan, is a little thin. However, the incredible performances in this episode make up for any minor plot holes.

I wouldn't say Troi is always the one getting violated. Picard has been abused and/or violated badly at least twice. Those two examples are first in Chain of Command and before that in Best of Both Worlds.

Agree with the poster above.....while there are certainly far too many episodes where Troi has been violated, Picard has had a ton as well. Apart from the 2 BIG ones mentioned above, he was also kidnapped or taken against his will in S3 "The High Ground" and "Allegiance", and in a sense also the "The Inner Light" as well to name a few. And that doesn't even count the number of times Q has done it.

If you start to watch the TNG movies, please don't skip the first one (Star Trek Generations). Yes, it's also about Kirk and his crew, but you already watched a number of TOS episodes togehter and I think Katrina likes them. And while Generations is not as good as First Contact it's still a really good movie with many wonderful moments.

To me, Carolyn Seymour will always be Queen Myrrah from the Gears of War series. Whenever she pops up in these Star Trek episodes, Myrrah is all I can hear. She does a fantastic job as the big bad in Gears, and does an amazing job in this episode of bringing that same energy while also at times drawing sympathy from the viewer. She’s just a fantastic actor all round.

Personally, I love how an empath is forced to play a person with absolutely *no* empathy.

Troi knowing that freighter captain was lying was the only point her empathic powers were really necessary. Unless they helped her deal with the commander a little.

Doctor Selar of the medical staff would gave been a better choice for the Romulans to recruit for this assignment.
