Awesome! Excited for ya'll to discover my favourite classic Doctor.

Fantastic reaction to one of my favourites. The Cyberman are always far scarier the more basic and mechanical they are. I remember someone saying they were medical tragedies, human beings gone wrong. They are frightening because they used to be us. Worth considering Pat Troughton here too. In many ways he was the man with the hardest job. He had to sell regeneration as an idea to an audience who had no idea about it and didn't expect a change of lead. He did so brilliantly arguably creating the blueprint for every Doctor that followed. They all borrow from Pat in some way or another. No Pat. No Doctor Who. That simple. He was a wonderful actor.

Troughton is the Doctor who (eventually) becomes the hero Doctor, saving the universe. Hartnel's Doctor was an explorer who mostly learned to survive by running away and sometimes solving someone else's problem. Troughton is the Doctor who will learn to fight the monsters and save people - he isnt good at it yet. In this serial you can see he's still finding his way... I mean everything that happens is his fault for volunteering to open the Tomb in the first place.

There are a LOT, if not all, of the lost episodes available as audiobooks. I nabbed a bunch on Audible but I wouldn't be surprised if libraries have several as well.

This arc comes directly after the first of two Yeti and the Great intelligence arcs IIRC. Those arcs are both included in the Lost Episodes.

This isn't my favorite of Patrick Troughton's surviving stories, but it's definitely a good one. I loved seeing how much y'all got into the suspense of it! My favorite Troughton story is his final one, "The War Games," which has an interesting production backstory: it was supposed to be a 6-parter but then a planned 4-part serial fell through for some reason, so The War Games had to expand to a huge 10 parts. The writers were always apologetic about it, because from their point of view it felt like a very bad amount of padding onto their planned story, but as a viewer I find they did a remarkable job of adding enough twists and turns to keep up a good pace all the way through. Anyway, I'm sure there are many fans who agree with the writers that it just feels padded, but for me it's a personal favorite. So if you're looking for another Troughton story to watch sometime in the future, keep an open mind about it!

The Wargames is excellent, although I have always been partial to the Seeds of Death, maybe not the best, but it is a story I can rewatch and enjoy

With Victoria being from the mid 19th century and Jamie from the mid 18th century this is the least techno aware tardis crew ever

I love the 2 and Jamie dynamic in this story. The actors must have had SO much fun working with each other!
