1. Katrina, You're cat is beautiful, and such a good cat! 2. Paula and Katrina your reactions are always so great. I do not rewatch this episode, I don't like it, but mostly because the miner is so annoying and I get so frustrated at that character, but it may be worth just watching the scenes with Picard and Wesley in the future for me; your reaction taught me that.

Damn this show is great when watched weekly.

Also literally not a single TNG fan has ever forgotten about Tasha.

I missed wesley after that episode. wesley was a little bit older then me as TNG first aired (longtime star trek fan). and as a young intelligent kid, I identified myself with the character of wesley. because of that I never understood why so many people disliked wesley.

Because of the kinda scattershot way I first watched TNG, and Trek in general, character departures were not suprising to me. In fact, I'm pretty sure I had to go and look up which episodes they left in so I could watch them... looking on Kazaa of course. Oh the days before I bought the DVDs and Blu Rays. But yes, very much a "hmm, I guess Tasha/Wesley left the show, I wonder when? *proceeds to Google* So, now that he's no longer a regular, I guess I can post about the idea that was thought of but ultimately unused for Wesley to actually be PICARD'S son, concieved in an affair. But the writers felt that would just over complicate the relationships and be a dubious action for the characters. I think you can see hints of it here and there between the three characters, but that might just be the same sorta subtextual reading as Spirk. You can see it if you look for it, but it wasn't put there to be found.

I've actually spoken with friends who are fans of TNG who completely forgot about her! - Kat

By the time you get to seasons 6 and 7 I can understand that Tasha is a bit forgotten. Pulaski is more so.

I was a kid when TNG was airing for the first time, and it was my & my Mom's favorite show. Because I was a kid, and it was pre-widespread internet, I didn't really know anything about other fans, so we just loved Wesley! Had no idea until I grew up and got online that lots of people didn't. lol I was definitely sad to see him go in this ep.

The real hero is Katrina's eyeliner. She's found the most waterproof product on the market. Also, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I LOVE how much y'all love these characters. Wil Wheaton and Sir Patrick getting to act their asses off with each other. I'm always taken by surprise when he breaks down during their conversation, and makes SURE Wesley knows he's proud of him. Picard's character growth is gorgeous. But, really, we've got to talk about my man Ron Jones. This is another Ron Jones score, and he brings it hard. He also scored "Evolution," the season three premiere, and one of the better Wesley episodes, and he actually reprises a theme from that episode when Picard tells Wesley he got into the Academy. Plus, that heart-pounding march beat during the crash, the dizzy horn melody when they are marching through the desert, and the mournful desperation he brings to the Enterprise scenes? *chef kiss* His "The Best of Both Worlds" score may be his most popular, but he's no slouch in the rest of his episodes. Also, Katrina telling the story of her walking home from school with Ron Jones scoring it in the background was perfection. And, A+ cat content. Really, kudos to Katrina!

LOL. “Sucks to suck.” Perhaps they put that on Durgo’s tombstone. Without spoiling anything (since Paula already told you Wesley will be back), I think you’ll very much enjoy Wesley’s next appearance.

You have access to elotes? Oh, man, now I'm highly jealous! Maybe for a future snack video, you'll have some elote so I can live vicariously lol. I grew up in Texas near the border, and haven't had an elote in decades!

Kat, your kitty is adorable she sort of resembles our youngest kitty Valkyrie who is a short hair tuxedo but her attitude is so much like Valkyrie too. She tolerates me picking her up and playing with her because she knows I won't harm her, she sometimes goes out of her way for me to give her belly rubs. She's only a little over a year old Whereas our older cat Medusa tends to be a little needy and acts more like a dog a lot if the time lol/

Ian Smith

There seem to be unspoken hints (or perhaps undercurrents) in the first two seasons, here and there. In the tie-in comic strips,I seem to recall that it was a little more overt, I rather liked Wesley. I always felt that his character was originally included in order to help pull in a younger audience to a 20 year-old franchise (the children of TOS fans); but were able to allow the character to naturally grow out of this precocious phase and mature (we see him coping with his Mum not being around;having his first teenage crush;missing his Dad,etc) in a natural way. I think it works very well.
