I gotta say: I LOVE this pose, even weeks later, and it's a pleasure to give you the steps that led to the final piece that opens the second chapter.

The background was a bit of a struggle, but I managed to render it the way I pictured it in my head. I still got issues with the sky, and you'll see it's going on in the next pages. I know I'm almost there, to a rendering that fully satisfies me, but it's hard work! Silly when you realize it's far more simple than a furry hot stud falling on his knees on a beach! XD

It doesn't show on the sketch, I had to rework the hands: these got the same kind of pose, I wanted something different.

Last word about his expression: I wanted despair, lost (!), confusion, even tears! Actually it looks more like sweat, as he ran his way to this point, but I guess it shows, hehe!

Thanks for the support, folks, have a beautiful sunday. Now I go back to the 4th page with another fantastic guy to draw. ^^

Beautiful detail,is it me or is he hairier when partly dressed? Stand up is literal and explicit. Just"stand", not being able to means something that can't take anymore of life's misfortunes and implies more of a general despair. Not standing up implies physical and moral exhaustion if he is facing someone specific. If it's at the universe "stand" is perfect. If it is resisting some known enemy, be it human or a plane crash or mysterious stranger(s) "stand up" will do very well. Now to the real important things: this insight you give us into how you work is simply stunning. It fascinated me always the dream of getting inside an Artist's work process. Thanks for making the dream as real as it can be. Beijo, Obrigado.

This is such a cool STEP BY STEP! For a moment there, it looks as if Jack's wearing a white suit -- such a cool "momentary" variant version! HA HA HA! Truly beautiful, mon ami!! GREAT WORK once again!!! 👏👏👏👏

No no, he's not hairier, hehe, he's just really hairy, BUT when the body is covered, visually you get the impression of more. Thanks for telling me about the stand up thing, I remember Yazz's hit song "Stand up for you Love Rights". I'm so glad you like I explain things a bit. Sometimes I'm afraid people get bored LOL cause I repeat myself quite often, all the more in english, my words are much more limited. Meric l'ami ! Bises

Hey you're so right about the white suit!! I didn't realize that, haha! In fact I had to process this way in order to not have the darkest graphite around when drawing all the rest, cause it would have spread all over the sheet, even when being careful. It's not easy working with such tool, but I'm so in love with that rendering, I can't go back! The good news is he's gonna lose the suit again soon, of course! XD Thank you so much Patrick! XOXOX
