Greetings Adventurers, and a happy new year to you all!

This month's visible work has focused on some quality-of-life improvements for DDB Importer, bug fixes, and Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen.

DDB Importer can now select a small number of adventure scenes to import when running - I know a number of you have been after this for a while, especially for some of the bigger books.

Dragonlance processing is now complete, and the adventure should now process all the walls, monsters, lights and notes. (25 scenes!)

Several background changes have been taking place to refactor large chunks of the processing code. This is partly to tackle some technical debt that had accrued and partially so I can add some new features.

I've been working on adding processing for "Companions".

These are the new style Summoning spells, the artificer Steel Defender or the Ranger companions found in Tasha's. They are stat blocks that scale with the caster/characters around proficiency bonuses and spell level and have required a new parsing engine to create.

I'd like to have this released later this month. Still, it has required some significant changes to both the Character and Monster parsing that is currently done and it's not yet complete.

Condensed Change Log

DDB Importer

  • If an item effect is generated item will force the use of the item effect rather than the CE effect.
  • Update back to DDB could fail for some items, it would add the item, but not always update the Foundry data about that item, causing a potential duplication.
  • Started on some refactor work for improved parsing/tech debt.
  • Blowguns would not import with damage leading to failure when they were used with a weapon infusion.
  • Small tweaks to Encounter button processing to improve compatibility with other modules.
  • More Character Parsing refactor for upcoming features.
  • If importing encounters without creating or updating scenes the importer would hang.
  • Tweaks to spell parsing to reduce duplicate spell imports for races such as Faerie.
  • Monster import now defaults to adding AC items (shields, armor etc.) and rather than creating a flat AC. If the use AC items option is unticked, it will now no longer add items and set AC to flat, but set the AC to Natural so that AC bonuses from spells/effects can take place.
  • Monster Munch: If using update existing images, it would not update existing images if the image file existed on disk for the default image.
  • Healer's Kit now imports as a consumable item.
  • When updating DDB Importer will check to make sure you have permissions to update the character.
  • When using dynamic character updates the charges of an item could be erroneously updated.
  • Adventure Muncher: You can now import a selection of scenes instead of all of them.
  • Improve note icon handling in scene exporting.
  • Some improvements for monster exporting for adventure muncher.
  • Encounter Muncher will now create a new foundry combat per encounter.
  • Background munching would fail if use SRD compendium items was ticked.
  • Custom skill parsing would fail if custom skill had no ability checked.
  • Fix a bug where if monsters were not imported into a compendium before munching an adventure, they would not be linked properly in journals.
  • New functionality to support item-machine-monsters like the Boilerdrake from SotDQ.
  • Support to allow items to be added to actors for Adventure Muncher. (Please reach out to me for details).

Proxy

  • If using Tasha's optional spell lists for a sorcerer, with a prepared spell casting class, the spells would be added to the Paladin known spells.
  • Some custom spells would not be fetched, depending on how they were attached to characters like the Druid.

Tokenizer

  • Tokenizer is now only compatible with version 10 of Foundry. (old versions still available for v9).
  • Tokenizer will now open when clicking the character in the Coriolis system.

Adventure Muncher

  • Capture alternative note icons for non-numeric entries.
  • Support capturing custom items on scene actors.
  • Fix scene generation for some older scenes.
  • Bump electron version.
  • Experimental ARM64 build for MacOS X. (Now removed, failure).

Scenes

Dragonlance has all 25 key scenes completed.

  • SotDQ: Chapter 3: Vogler, Battle of High Hill, Escape from Vogler.
  • SotDQ: Chapter 4: Kalaman, Wheelhouse Outpost, Retreat, Raided Catacombs.
  • SotDQ: Chapter 5: Northern Wastes map, Blue Phoenix Shrine, Sunward Fortress, Wakenreth, Bluemaw Cave, Heart's Hollow, Camp Carrionclay, Attack on Wind's End.
  • SotDQ: Chapter 6: Path of Memories, City of Lost Names, Occupied Mansion, Temple of Paladine, Threshold of the Heavens.
  • SotDQ: Chapter 7: Assault on Hawkers Grove, Flying Citadel Sub Levels, Bastion of Takhisis, The Flying Citadel, Clash of Fallen Flames.

Active-Auras

  • Correct a missing deprecated data reference.
  • Reduce Double Aura Removal.
  • HP Check could misfire effect application due to bad HP logic.
  • Add Basic Support for isSuppressed & Change Support for dnd5e.
  • Reduce times up expiry duplication.

Awesome work, however today Adventure Muncher complained about Dragonlance adventure, saying that it is now at Version 2, but parsing was done for Version 1 and it might not work correctly. Is there a chance that it will be updated? (I haven't seen any problems so far, but it doesn't mean there won't be any)

Normally these are small formatting changes/typos etc, but there is a chance that something major breaks this is normally - scenes are no longer aligned/gridded/walls or the notes no longer place correctly as pins on the map.
