Headless Girl of "Onago-Dani"! (Patreon)

Hello again, my patrons!

I found some other character design sketches for [Anime-Tamae!] in my hard disk, so I post it now!
May be it is a good timing, for recently there are few posts on this Patreon (as I told its reason in recent post).
Headless Girl of "Onago-Dani" is very minor Youkai / Legend from Japan, Saga prefecture (????.

"Onago-Dani" means "Valley of the Girl".
In original book, the title of the tale was "Legend of Onago-Dani", and she was called just as ???(Bakemono, Monster). So I named her as "Headless Girl of Onago-Dani" for my art.

In "Onago-Dani" valley, there was a legend of headless girl youkai, who rides the headless horse, carrying a oil-pot. If someone talk about her in the valley, She will appear actually!

This is very interesting legend for Youkai Otaku like me, because it is very similar to mysterious youkai ???? (Abura-Sumashi, youkai related to oil).

She is almost hybrid youkai of Abura-Sumashi and Dullahan.
Why she is carrying oil, while riding a headless horse?
There are so many mysteries... it is possible that there were missing links between Onago-Dani and Abura-Sumashi... but I can't tell about it anymore.

The first art is more "Anime-Tamae!"-nized version than image from the original legend.
I feel this WIP design has too many details for the comic character... so maybe I should remove some small details... but anyway I like it as a Youkai sketch.

And the second art is relatively simple, based on original legend version of her :)

Though the time-stamp of this post may be March already, I hope to declare this post is the last post of February 2020.
