Couple things are changing + Hiring an expensive character artist (Patreon)

There are a couple of things that are changing:

1. The artist I had working on character art didn't live up to my expectations. So, I will be hiring an expensive artist. I want to have better quality for the game and for my patrons for you guys are mainly the ones making this possible. The downside will be that each character commission will take about 2 weeks to complete and outfits might be skipped due to how expensive they would be and how much longer they would take to complete. The upside is that the quality of the character art will be professional. I am sure everyone will be pleased on how better the characters will look.

2. I had a lot of thinking and contemplation done on whether or not I should remake the game, but ultimately the best outcome I came up with is to make a sequel instead for HFGR. There would be a lot of backtracking and a lot of file sizing optimization which I feel like I would be stuck on for a while. I think doing something brand new with a fresh start would overall be the most convenient way to proceed. I will be doing HFGR2, a sequel with brand new characters and brand new gameplay. It just makes so much more sense to start off fresh on development and pull code from the original HFGR when needed rather than spending a ton of time reworking code and optimizing art which would take who knows how long!

3. HFGR2 will have brand new content, brand new gameplay, brand new characters, and will either have a brand new story or will be a continuation of the story from HFGR1. HFGR2 will be more of a full fledged game.

HFGR1 will still be available for play and I won't be removing it.


I was a bit stressed with how I should proceed with HFGR as well as my character artist not fulfilling my expectations. HFGR2 and hiring an expensive artist is my answer!

I hope that you guys understand this decision and will be able to appreciate what is coming for the future of HFGR. :)
