(Post got a little long, but if you scroll all the way down you'll be rewarded, I promise!)

Hiya there, guys!

First up--a quick update on the status of things:

Development is still going along smoothly, with the script being finalised now, and voice actors delivering their lines, along with the CG art being steadily done, still aiming to have everything done for a mid-late August release for the first chapter! No major roadblocks in sight so far!

Secondly, as the title suggests, I wanted to talk a little about how the art side of things is going. Namely, the addition of a new artist to the team.

Don't panic though, the original sprite artist and CG artist that both worked hard on the demo content and the majority of the first chapter's art are still on board, and I just saw some nice sketches of an incredibly enduring and intense encounter with a lamia that I know you guys are gonna love~

As development of the game moves forward though, and with the prospect of new chapters on the horizon, of which I want to add far more content than the first chapter if everything goes well, I realised that with just two dedicated artists working on each element of the game, the overall turnover time of assets would take a long time, meaning the time between each chapter would be longer.

This prompted me to start a search for additional artists to add to the team, who might be able to help speed up development of both the first chapter, and any subsequent ones. This wasn't something I took lightly though, since I wasn't about to just hire anyone onto the team that could vaguely draw monster girl related stuff. I want to ensure the game has a consistent level of quality with its assets, and for the experience to feel as cohesive as possible without different, jarring art styles taking away from it all.

So not only was I looking for artists who could both draw h-scenes AND monster girls, I was looking for artists that could also be faithful to the current style that exists within Quest Failed.  And boy, what a search that was!

Thankfully, my search wasn't in vain though, as I believe I've met someone quite capable of delivering the style of art you all love and have come to expect, and personally am quite happy to have met, as they're incredibly passionate about the project and delivered this test commission I asked of them in little under a day.

Well, this post got a bit more wordy than I intended it for. I'm sorry! To make up for it, and to say thanks to you guys for supporting me and having such faith in this project, I'll let you guys have a special sneak peek at the test commission the new artist did for me, and let you be the judge of whether or not you believe their art is a good match for the game:

This is just a test piece, and won't be featured as a scene in the full game (unless there's a demand to go back to it and turn it into a fully fledged scene of course!) but I hope you guys like it, and are excited to see more from this artist, alongside the other artists currently working on the project, too!

And of course, I'll always be looking for more artists whose art would be a good fit for the Quest Failed series, to continue to make it the best it can be, and pack as much monster girl goodness into each chapter as I can!
