I put these on my Instagram, but you folks deserve the hi-res versions too. The Silmarillion Project was me illustrating each chapter of the Silmarillion. I never finished it, but one of these days I'll probably do some more.

The Music of the Ainur is essentially the beginning of Tolkien’s creation myth, where the Earth is slowly formed into being by ethereal song. Nothing too fancy just yet, but tune in next week as things heat up!

Aaron -- could I suggest that you pass this artwork along to The Prancing Pony Podcast (their web site is https://theprancingponypodcast.com; e-mail is barliman@theprancingponypodcast.com). Shawn Marchese and Alan Sisto run a very fine Tolkien web site and podcast; they spent most of a year discussing "The Silmarillion" in great detail. I'm sure they would love to see your work.

Speaking of your work -- please keep working on the Dresden Codak. It is hauntingly beautiful and I find the plot and characters fascinating.

I really do love your sense of color. Even if I didn't know anything about the Tolkienian context, I don't think I'd miss the feeling of creation here - despite the fact that the image itself is pretty darn abstract. It's just good, good stuff. Beautiful, too.
