Whenever I re-watch this episode, I always find myself a bit uncomfortable with Naruto's speech. Because all things considered, Naruto is the last person I would like to listen to while talking about fate and destiny. In this episode Naruto states that fate and destiny isn't absolute and that people aren't bound by it. This is the same man (naruto) who happens to be : 1. The son of the 4th 2. An Uzumaki - granting him immense Chakra Reserves 3. A jinchiruki - further granting him immense Chakra plus healing abilities. And don't forget he was the Jinchiruki of the strongest tailed beast. 4. Child of prophecy All this was destined before or at the moment of naruto's birth. So in short naruto was destined for greatness. Naruto was always bound by Destiny. I'm not saying that naruto didn't worked hard for it, but Naruto was the only one who had these things going on in his favour. No other ordinary Ninja had these advantages. So in that sense Naruto was really blessed with fate / destiny on his side. In short, Neji was right. Neji said, "only those bound for greatness will ever achieve it" and naruto was bound to greatness ever since he was born. Ironically Neji himself never escaped his destiny / fate completely. The purpose of the branch family stood for to defend and die for the main family, and as we all know Neji died while protecting Hinata - a member of the main family and Naruto. This time however Neji didn't sacrifice himself for the fate of the Hyúga but for friendship. That's a positive but at the end of the day he still died protecting the main household. So yeah, Neji never escaped his fate.

I've just never really understood the reasoning behind the Hyuga curse mark. Especially since both the branch and main family are allowed to become ninja and go out on missions, evidenced by Hinata. What happens if someone snatches her eyeballs while she's out on a mission? They can't curse mark that away. Just always seemed pointless and cruel. I especially feel for Neji's mum though, imagine how she must've felt when she heard she was having TWINS, knowing the fate that awaited one of them! Also love these throwbacks with a baby face lucky. <3
