The death of the 1st Hokage is kind of a plot hole in itself. In some instances it’s stated he died due to natural causes and in others it’s stated he died in battle, after appointing Tobirama as the Second Hokage. It’s really weird considering the only person that could even THINK about killing the first is Madara. And we know after their last battle, Madara was never seen again. I’m more inclined to believe he died of natural causes. I would say sickness however his cells are the strongest to date, meaning his body definitely should’ve been able to fight off whatever sickness he had. But I’m also inclined to say old age but that can’t really be it because we know Hashirama’s wife, Mito Uzumaki lived to see the reign of the 3rd Hokage, Hiruzen who was named Hokage by Tobirama as a teenager, the day he was killed by Kinkaku and Ginkaku Mito was around long enough to teach Kushina what she needs to be happy as a Jinchuriki. It’s weird. So essentially we’re trying to figure out how a guy who couldn’t lose in battle, body and cells are unmatched in strength, was said to die in battle. But was also said to die of old age but died at least 30 years prior because than his wife.
