Theres a funny mini story that doesn't get adapted i the anime. About a year before the series started, Yamamoto [the guy beefing with Kenma the entire episode] made a comment that because Kenma is pale and has black hair that tends to cover his eyes, it makes him look like a Japanese ghost and that could catch peoples attention. And since the literal last thing Kenma wants to do is be noticed, he attempted to dye his hair blonde. And by "attempted" I mean that as usual he didn't really try putting effort into it, and that's why his current hair is only blonde on the outside and not near the top~
