I think the death hit Cristina so hard because she felt like that will be her one day, no life outside of the hospital, no family, just work. Plus as a doctor they're trained to save people, so just letting someone die when you could be doing something something would be hard. With Meredith "always being right", I think it can be sort of forgiven because she literally grew up in the hospital, just hanging out while her mother worked. She's been around medical stuff all her life so it makes sense she'd have a lot of knowledge and intuition. I love the way Izzie shuts Alex down in the locker room. She mostly annoys me but that moment was badass and imagine going into medical school with no debt, so good on her!
