I'm sorry, I can tolerate the Damon hate (though it causes me physical pain) but to say that both Stefan & Damon betrayed each other in that scene is completely wrong. Damon never promised to help Stefan (with blatant lies) he begrudgingly accepted Stefan's help. So, when he got the information on his own he went to follow through on his own, something that would in no way impact Stefan. On the other hand, Stefan going behind Damon's back after pretending like he was the trustworthy one (even though to this point we have seen numerous occasions of Stefan lying to everyone, while Damon is honest and upfront with his bad actions) then turned around and betrayed his "honest" word to Damon.
