Most of the villains later on are much better, and the pacing and character moments will get better. Also this show becomes more than more a teen drama later on.

I find it interesting how they are still people haven't amazing iconic shows like Avatar and Buffy but, yet have seen shows that were influenced by them.

Interesting, well-written villains are one of the show's biggest strengths after Season 1 imo, so don't worry. I love that this episode finally takes Giles out of the library and gives him something to do! So so excited for you to get deeper into the show :)

This show has some of my favorite villains of all time. Just be patient. Also when you watch episode 9, there is a scene after the credits. Sometimes reactors turn it off too soon and miss it.
