Talking About the Frost Spider Silk
When I mentioned the Frost Spider Silk, everyone in the room froze.

Did something happen?

"Lady Lily, what exactly is Frost Spider Silk?"

"Oh, that. It's silk produced by my familiar, Talat, who evolved into a Frost Silk Spider. It’s slightly cool to the touch but excellent at insulating heat and has the same luster as Mana Spider Silk."

"Frost Silk Spider? I've never heard of such a creature. Young lord Sharon, Young lord Vic, are you familiar with it?"

"I’m not. I’ve heard of Frost Spiders, but..."

"Neither have I. If it's similar to the Frost Spider, it must be a powerful monster."

"Is it really that strong?"

"I’m not too knowledgeable, but I believe it's advised to flee unnoticed if you encounter a group of three or more."

Now that he mentions it, I recall something like that.
Talat is quite strong, but he’s so gentle that I’d completely forgotten.

"A dangerous monster like that obeys humans?"

"Indeed. Lady Lily, do you truly control a Frost Spider?"

"Well, it's a Frost Silk Spider, and yes, I do. Shall I bring it here?"

"N-no, that's not necessary. If it's real, we might not stand a chance even with all the guards here."

"Neither I nor Talat—my familiar—will attack without reason. Besides, he’s outside in the carriage since we arrived together."

"What!? … No, it makes sense for a tamer to be with their familiar."

"Yes. There were no objections when we arrived."

While the original guards from the Wildcat Claws weren't allowed to accompany me, Talat wasn’t stopped because he’s my familiar.
Even if they had tried to stop him, he probably would’ve clung to the roof or bottom of the carriage to follow me.

So, what should I do now?

"Lady Lily, could you provide a sample of this Frost Spider Silk? I'd like to examine it."

"Certainly. May I bring in my backpack from outside the room?"

"Go ahead. Does anyone object?"

Everyone nodded at Lady Roderlight's words. As expected of a princess, her voice carried the most weight.

With permission granted, I fetched my backpack from the adjacent room, took out an untouched piece of Frost Spider Silk, and handed it to Lady Roderlight.
She examined it from various angles, felt its texture with her bare hands, and sighed before returning it.

"Thank you. It’s a magnificent fabric."

"I’m honored by your praise. However, it’s hard to sell as we don’t know its market value."

"Don't know its market value? For such a splendid fabric?"

"Well, even in Vardmoi, there’s no precedent for trading it. I was suggested auctioning it to determine its value, given the limited quantity..."

"Ah, because you and your familiar can produce it in large quantities?"

"Yes. That’s why it’s hard to set a price. I have accumulated quite a bit."

"... You’ve accumulated it?"

"Yes. I currently have about 50 bolts."

"In that case, I will buy all of it. The price will be 8 million Rubies per bolt. In the Capital, a bolt of Mana Spider Silk costs between 600,000 and 800,000 Rubies, so this is a fair price. Considering the danger, it might be underpriced, but take this as an order from a noble."

Oh, an unexpected valuation.

Eight million Rubies per bolt…
How much would that be in Vardemoy?
Can such an expensive fabric even be mass-produced and sold?
