After the Graduation Party
"Is the graduation party for Young lady Kou almost over?" I wondered as I received an urgent summons from the Marquis. So I headed to the party venue, albeit puzzled.

What could have happened?

Instead of the party hall, I was taken to a room at the back where Young lady Kou, the Marquis and Marchioness, and three unfamiliar individuals awaited.
The woman had a curvaceous, motherly figure, while the two men, both well-built and similar in appearance, were likely brothers or cousins.

Why was I summoned here?

"Are you Lily, the tailor of the Vardmoi household?"

The taller of the two unfamiliar men addressed me, his voice stern and sharp.

"I'm Lily, clothes merchant, rather than a master tailor. Since there was an urgent need for Young lady Kou's dress, I acted as a tailor this time."

"I see. During the party, when we held our drinks, part of the embroidery on Young lady Kou's dress turned purple. She claimed it was poison, and upon inspection, it was confirmed to be true. What kind of trick did you use?"

"Oh, it seems the precautionary magic embroidery I applied came in handy. That's good."

"Magic embroidery? I've heard of magic tailoring, but never of magic embroidery. Where did you learn such a technique?"

"At a clothing shop in the town of Catastie. I learned the basics of magic embroidery there. It apparently originates from another country."

"You mean detecting poisons is part of these 'basic' embroideries?"

"That one is quite advanced. I only recently mastered it. I'm glad it worked properly."

At that, the tense atmosphere in the room suddenly eased.

What was that about?

"Lily, you say? Can anyone perform this magic embroidery?"

"Well, it depends. Since I can also do magic tailoring, I managed to learn it within a few days, but some might find it difficult. Moreover, the patterns and threads used for magic embroidery are imported and quite expensive."

"Hmm, then it can't be industrialized in this country..."

Ah, so they were hoping to industrialize it here.
But without understanding how to produce the patterns and threads, it's unlikely to happen.

"Brother Sharon, shouldn't you express our gratitude now that the tailor's innocence is proven?"

"Oh, indeed. Lily, thanks to you, we have saved lives, especially that of Lady Roderlight. We are grateful."

"Your words are too kind."

"No, truly, we are indebted. Lady Roderlight is a princess of this nation. A scandal involving poison at her graduation party would have far-reaching consequences for many houses."

Hiehh!?
This woman is a princess?

What should I do in such a situation...?

"Oh, Young lord Sharon, you're exaggerating."

"It's not an exaggeration, Lady Roderlight. That King will seize any opportunity to weaken the power of the rebellious nobles."

"Well, that's true..."

"Brother Sharon, Lady Roderlight, the important thing is that no harm came today. Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Vic. Though I bear a disfiguring scar on my face, I sincerely thank you for saving my brother and Young lady Kou."

A large scar indeed marked Young lord Vic's face. While my healing magic could probably fix it, doing so without permission would be inappropriate. I must restrain myself.

"By the way, Lady Lily, may I ask you a question?"

"Yes, Lady Roderlight, what is it?"

"The dress worn by Young lady Kou, you tailored that one, is that correct?"

"Yes, I did. Why do you ask?"

"What material did you use for her dress? It looks finer than Mana Spider Silk."

Ah, that.

I guess I have to answer.

"It's Frost Spider Silk. Normally, I wouldn’t use it, but I took the liberty to use it for this special occasion."
