Talat’s 2nd Evolution
Until dusk, we searched for Ice Cyclopes and managed to defeat a total of seven.
The Snowelter said it doesn't sense anymore, so it seems we've taken them all down.
But understandably, dealing with this many high-level monsters has left us exhausted...

"Everyone, great job."

"Thank you. Melanie, what were you recording?"

Ah, yes.
While we were exterminating the Ice Cyclopes, Melanie was desperately jotting something down on paper.
She was earnestly writing with her pen, but what was it for?

"Oh, that. I was recording the Ice Cyclopes' characteristics, behavior patterns, weaknesses, and such."

"Weaknesses... Did you find anything?"

"Hmm, I can only say they seem weak to long-lasting burning magic. When it comes to defending their base, throwing oil and setting it on fire might be the most effective."

As expected, even from afar, I couldn't spot any clear weaknesses.
Despite direct combat from every one of the Wildcat Claws, it seemed difficult each time, changing our battle patterns.
I also struggled with attacks other than lightning magic.
Talat's threads lose its binding power quickly once frozen, too.
It seems weaknesses were unexpectedly revealed in some aspects.
We could create flame-resistant threads, but we couldn't make ones resistant to freezing.

We were quite exhausted, so we returned to the Lumite Grand Wing and loaded the defeated Ice Cyclopes onto the wagon for the journey back.
It seems Ice Cyclopes' bodies, except for the meat, can be used as materials.
Since there are Rock Wolves around now, they'll likely eat the meat.
It's a big profit for us, but the mental strain was greater.
This is what it means to fight high-level monsters.

Since dismantling them would take time, we decided to receive payment tomorrow and took only the magic stones for now.
Talat seemed to want to eat the Ice Cyclopes' magic stones badly.
I wonder why?

After returning home and washing off the dust and sweat, I gave Talat one of the Ice Cyclopes' magic stones.
At that moment, his body began to glow, and he vomited out thread and entered a cocoon.
This is evolution!
The others who were watching panicked and rushed to get their equipment, but I explained the situation and calmed them down.
I wonder what he'll evolve into this time?

(Talat has started evolving. Please select the evolution path.)

Once again, the options for evolution are "Large Ogre Silk Spider," which seems to be the basic one, and this time, another one appeared: "Frost Silk Spider."
Although the word "Large" was omitted from the Frost Silk Spider's species name, it seems there's not much difference in size compared to before.
It seems Frost Silk Spider is generally a large-sized monster.
And this time, it looks like he'll be able to produce "Frost Spider Silk."
I'm looking forward to the new product.

Let's evolve right away!
