Patreon Story Update #5 - Alpha Camp (Patreon)

We have been working on the game’s setting, lore and story for quite a while now and it is time we present it to you.

We will not spoil the main plot of the game with these, but spoilers concerning the setting and backstory are inevitable. So if you prefer to explore the world completely un-spoilered once the game is done, do not read any further!

Alpha Camp
HQ of the Expedition

The Alpha Camp is where you start the game with Max. It is the HQ of the Galactic Rangers’ expedition on Kerpal and located on the plains, near Lake Village. The Camp houses a leading group of scientists, maintenance staff and the Wildfire guards, to which Max belongs.

Founded countless generations ago by the Federation, the Galactic Rangers’ main purpose is the exploration of the outer rim and the evaluation of lost worlds that were part of the human empire before the war. One of the most mysterious habitable planets that haven't been visited yet is Kerpal.

The Rangers’ focus lies mainly on research and peaceful first contact, rather than combat. But the outer rim can be a dangerous and lawless place, which is why the private military contractor group called Wildfire is escorting the mission with their own ship for additional protection.

While theirs and the Rangers’ ship remain in orbit around Kerpal, a number of shuttles and standardized housing containers have been dropped onto the surface, forming a simple, but efficient camp of living facilities, med bay, armory and science lab.

Moreover, it is not uncommon for a number of smaller, private ships to tag along on a Galactic Ranger mission. This colorful entourage of adventurers and soldiers of fortune is begrudgingly tolerated in the expedition, as long as they stay out of the way of the professionals. But nevertheless, they will surely try to rope Max into helping them with their personal agendas…
