As described in the public post we have designed these stages of severity for the survival system.

Level 0: No survival, the character needs neither food nor sleep.

Level 1: Light survival, the character can experience hunger/thirst, and will need regular sleep. When hunger/thirst is at its most severe the player will be penalized with the following:
-No stamina regen.
-Max. stamina capped at 50%
-No Life regen.
When sleep deprivation is at its maximum the player will be penalized with the following:
-Blurry, warpy, distorted vision.

Level 2: Hard survival, pretty similar to level 1 but with 2 critical additions:
Once hunger/thirst reaches its maximum the player will slowly lose life over time resulting in death by starvation if it reaches zero.
Once sleep deprivation reaches its max the screen distortions will be more extreme and disturbing than level 1 and the player has a chance to simply fall asleep on the spot. If that happens during combat the player is certainly gonna lose that fight.

For our game design purposes we would like to know now which of these 3 modes you are most likely going to choose in the game. Also this current design is still open to suggestions so feel free to comment them here in the post if you have any.

We are looking forward to your feedback :)

Be careful with the "-Blurry, warpy, distorted vision." Make sure to regulate it. Don't allow it to add a significant layer of difficulty. Make it feel more of a discomfort for the player rather than something that will make them ragequit.

Anonymous

I'd hope that there's also a rape outcome to failed combat.

Ryproar

Considering Fallout 76 ruined me on it I will be doing NO on this one. Thanks for adding levels though, so if I change my mind later. (But seriously... 76... shudders)

adeptussteve

Of course, for the level 1 survival its meant to be just that. Level 2 is where it'll be really disturbing so players are motivated to keep their characters well rested :)

Isidorn

Level 1 sounds like the level I'll most likely play. Individual settings for each need/penalty would be the sweetest. For example, you could set 0 for food to not need that but 2 on sleep and risk falling asleep even during combat.

Leah Snow

I certainly hope not. Non consensual pixel sex is not acceptable to me. I won't play a game with this outcome.

Leah Snow

I would definitely play Level 1 and possibly Level 2 depending on death penalty and if death will be a permanent state.

Anonymous

Level 1 makes a lot of sense and keeps the game 'open' as it were providing playability for all. Of course other levels of difficulty can be an option I guess for the players who really want that extra layer of difficulty/realism.

Anonymous

I agree 76 messed me up also. However I feel they implemented it poorly. Food was difficult to find without a penalty of rads. I believe wild life is imagining a survival world in which this aspect is necessary. As long as food and water are more easily accessible it can be a mechanic that adds to the game play. More like Ark!!!

Anonymous

I think all three options should be included as a choice you make when you start a new game.

Drac

LVL 2 sounds fun and challenging

Anonymous

Sure there me sometimes I don't want to have to think and want to power through but for most gameplay sessions I need some sort of control. Level 1 is the best aspect of it.

TheLionWriter

Why isn't this thing is optional? You can select 0,1,2 at the beginning of the game. Like in Subnautica or Planet Nomads. And you can only change if you start a new game. I know it would need another metric shitton of codes to enable such an option, but it would be fair for everyone. You can name the levels like: "I was born to die (Hard Survival)" "Give me some Challenge (Light Survival)" "Lets have some fun (No Survival)" Edit: I just read the previous post so never Mind this one :)

Anonymous

Difficulty slider please! So everyone will be happy and will enjoy the game like they want :3 Having multiple choices is always better!

Werewolfducky

I say level 1 but also maybe on level 1 maybe have the option to turn off the sleep. I hate having to sleep in games lol. Even make the enemies harder at night to counter it. Also if you could have a scale for day and night as well, because I like long days and shorter nights

Anonymous

I like survival games, but at some point managing those resources becomes a chore for me. I agree with Animusreptor for including all modes in the game from the get go just like Subnautica did since it gives the player the choice on how to play.

adeptussteve

Ok cool. Yeah I was just about to say, where did we say its not going to be optional :D

Anonymous

at the end i like to see all the 3 levels plus a custom level. best

Arthur

Comparing to how survival modes work in other games (losing all progress etc if you lose) I will most likely play Level 1.

Arthur

However, if the punishment isn't too severe or too difficult to avoid if you are careful when playing, then I'd love the challenge of Level 2.

Anonymous

I just want wings for Minotaur.

Anonymous

Some sexual hallucination would be nice. The character dreaming of being used in some way.

Anonymous

Possible play without sleep, but the night is difficult and very dark.

Anonymous

I like the survival idea of the first level. except for the penalty that the screen goes blurry or warp .. that effect usually make me sick and gives me a huge head ache in other games. would not mind if the screen goes alittle darker mimicing the effect of your eyes slowly closing.

CatTerrorize

I play conan exiles. So I vote lvl2, but I love lvl1 too since not sure how hard game will be in future :)

Matéo Côme

I hope the day/night cycle will be relatively long, just as "The Long Dark"'s one. Otherwise, BBecause I think survival will take too much place in the gameplay if not, and it'll be hard to deal with survival AND quests. Maybe all these questions already have answers, I'm new here =) (please excuse my poor english)

adeptussteve

In the latest build we implemented a user setting for that. So you can specify in the game settings how long a day should be ;)

Anonymous

1 sounds the most fun while also penslizing the player, health should also be halved along with stamina.

Anonymous

I would play level 2 more if max hunger depletion is reached one or two times during a day/night cycle with max thirst depletion being able to hit four to six times if left to max out before filling. For level 2, maybe add a hidden exhaustion meter that is depleted by strenuous activity such as fighting and hunting, sprinting, climbing, sex, and maybe a few other activities. It could only be reduced by resting activities like sitting, lounging, napping and, of course, sleeping. It could have a similar effect on the character as sleep deprivation in level 1. Maybe make the amount vary by the length of the day/night cycle so people playing with a short cycle like a half hour won't spend their whole playtime looking for food, drink, and sleep. My above example I'm thinking over a two hour day/night cycle.

Sky

I'm probably going to do all three over time. So I picked the one I would do first.

T. Stone

I voted level 1 but I would definitely try level 2, especially if the game tied the survival stuff to adult content. Like for examble if you could barter your body in exchange for food and shelter, or if fainting from sleep deprivation could lead to a special event where you get captured and have to negotiate for your freedom.

Anonymous

Since it doesn't seem to be much differentiation between modes 1 and 2, could it actually be possible to implement both? just as a toggleable in the game options.

Anonymous

never been to big on the survival tropes, but the sleep induced effects are an interesting mechanic I would like to see implemented.

Anonymous

i'd prefer the hard mode. to me, if there's no challenge it wouldn't be much fun. at the same time since this is also an adult/sex game.. there should be a mode where you can just jump into the sex positions and rub one out. lol.

Anonymous

I typically play level 1. It depends on the kind of game if i go level 2 or not. But for casual play. level 1 all the way.

Anonymous

肯定是2级,玩家只有面对困境,才会认为自己的手段是正确的。除非你想做一个恋爱为核心的游戏。

Nes27

will there be an arousal meter that's part of the needs too? this is a porn game after all :P

Anonymous

Level 2 for me all the way. I don't mind the work. Generation 'spoon-fed' can suck it

Anonymous

why not make all 3 game mode

Didi & Nok' Tus

Really, we want a fun sex game. Though I guess a bit of survival wouldn't completely suck -- we hope the final will be about fun and fucking, not about starving or sleep deprivation.

Anonymous

I'm 100% on Level 1, although Level 0 would allow casual players to experience the game with more freedom, which I'm totally for. I consider Level 2 viable for those seeking a challenge but considering the game in question I'd have to say if Level 2 is implemented then there needs to be some reward for the risk involved. How you guys choose to integrate that is entirely up to you.

adeptussteve

The idea is that we havr allr three levels implemented and then the player can choose that in the game

Martin H

survival has to be, i would prefer something like 1,5... ignoring hunger/thirst has to be punished, or u could skip the survival all together... that said, i also like the idea that players- or characters? could become so desperate they would go to extreme measures to counter it... may it be murder or prostitution, that's up to the individual.

Anonymous

I guess it depends on the overall design goals. I generally dislike survival elements because most systems feel like they are designed to "prevent" you from experiencing what the game is good at. See games like No Mans Skye, or Fallout 76. Monster Hunter does it better where instead of penalizing you for not paying attention to food and drink, etc it gives you benefits like slower stamina drain, higher attack, etc.

Anonymous

Because I play games like ark I don’t mind a survival game even if it’s with sex. However I’m gonna have to go with a level zero because no stamina regain is a bit too much for a low level survival game even in a normal standards situation. I will pick Louisville one only if it’s not as severe, like if you want to say they can’t have sex as fast if they are hungry or they just move slower and they can’t have sex like normal I will be fine with that but to say they don’t regain stamina at all, somethings like that kind of sucis the experience from the experience itself. From what I can tell of this game I really think I would enjoy it but if the main Game is going to take the main drive from me, I probably will just stick to a creative mode if that is what you guys have because I just want to fuck, with a story, please still have the story also. lol. So my overall thought is I will only do level one if it’s not as bad at and don’t take the fun out of experience.

cupndonut

I would probably set it to zero, though having the different survival options toggelable, or customizable would be great.

adeptussteve

Makes sense, thats why we want to involve the community so much. A complete stop in stamina regen would be pretty bad, so we will think and design some more. Itll be a longer process with some back and forth between us and you people to get this to feel right in the end :)

BigRedBeast

to me level 1 makes the most sense, but to have no regeneration of stamina or health is a bit harsh for level 1. I can understand that there could be some penalties with food or water depletion and the sleep one is fine as it is. It's still possible in reality to still have sex while hungry or thirsty but it won't last long nor will it be that enjoyable. Oh would it be a good idea to involve some kind of system that during the sex you can make it enjoyable to your sex partner as well? Like they ask for rough sex or gentle, that kind of thing and you get some kind of bonus out of it.

Nilly

I would personally love some sex-related survival functionality.

Anonymous

level 1 seams like a good balance but with the option to turn off the vision effects maybe? that could cause motion sickness for some people :)

Corvenius

Tried the game today and became a Patreon after 15 minutes of trying out , and exploring the world, i gotta say.. its more fun as i had in Fallout 76 ;) . Yes , Survial 1 would be my choice , also some ideas that may or may not add to the game. If you lose a fight , you dont instantly die ,you go into a down state and the AI chooses if she for example: robs you , Kills you , Leaves you there , Forces Sex etc. , also a Sickness and disease system would be a ddition to the game in one of the harder survival modes , also maybe a cum inflation system (encumberance to punish the pervs :P ) Just my 2 cts.

Layout

also add stress level, that impacts rate of failure... with sex to relieve it.

super wonky wookie

survival mode difficulty, like any form of challenging modifier in my opinion, should come with the incentive of some form unlockable or worthwhile reward for completion. And most definitely something more than an achievement or trophy, an actually useful in game reward that gets you that "i earned this and its so bad-ass" high. I guess unlockables and hidden rewards are my thing. What comes to mind for me as good references would be the Mortal Kombat games. Specifically, I loved the hidden items / rewards in Mortal Kombat Deceptions Konquest mode, Mortal Kombat Shoa Lin Monks, the graveyard from MK9, and the system from MKX's konquest mode. To see something like that here would be awesome. In short, as long as any challenge has an awesome reward at the end of it, it becomes worth my time in my opinion.

BigRedBeast

The other thing I've been wondering about is, will there be any like homosexual options for players or Futas? I'm not into that kind of thing, but I'm sure there will be plenty of people who will be. What about the other fetishes for that matter?

Anonymous

Honestly i would play survival level 1 and 2 more than 0. Though I would play all.

Anonymous

May i suggest an option for private needs? i modded the hell out of my skyrim, amongst other things a mod for deficating and urinating. i think along with the eat, drink, sleep and sex stuff, having to go to the toilet would round up the whole adult rpg survival feeling.

adeptussteve

Thats why we will have at least 3 options for it :)

adeptussteve

We will have to see in detail about what we can implement as a reward for that, and how. But Its definitely an interesting idea.

adeptussteve

Yeah its also something I want to experiment with in combination with the whole food thing :D

ZULEYKA GAMES

Cool! I like your idea with choice between 3 game mode, because each variant has a great potential.

Anonymous

0 or 1 for me. Don't like things too difficult.

Anonymous

I guess if you're going for the adult RPG thing. Go for the hard survival. It's not just a game where you get to fuck fantasy creatures. It needs to have the RPG elements too. Have things like hunger, thirst and sleepiness affect the ability to initiate sex. Making it hard survival will make the game more desirable for gamers who actually want the sex to be a part of the game and not just people who are playing it for the sex.

Clay Cassius

I'm just coming from alot of ark ( now that its on the switch im playing much more ) And Conan Exiles game play and was looking for something different and found this.... soo I love a bit of a survival challenge with resource gathering.... But the best thing i love about Wild Life so far is the beautiful character models and the world looks soo crisp and clean.....man Im totally pumped for this game!

Anonymous

Hard survival just brings a thrill to the gameplay. You have to think fast and act even faster. So cool. How would a reproduction system work for that specific survival mode? To keep the tribe going.

Anonymous

Hi everyone I saw that there is a lot of dance that's awesome =)

Anonymous

I'm Usually a story guy, But after seeing red dead redemption 2 do hunger and hygiene in a cool way, I've been hungry for that realism... no pun intended.

Anonymous

Im on subscribing in protest of patreon. I would resubscribe if you migrate to an other platform.

Where do I find this game/how do I download it?

adeptussteve

In our OP you have further down the latest versions linked for the different support tiers. That leads directly to the download section.

Anonymous

Where can i download the 25$ Version? Sorry.

Anonymous

maybe players should be able to choose, like difficulty levels: easy, normal, hard.

Anonymous

could I have the demo at $ 10, the uncensored version

adeptussteve

Yes, right this way: https://www.patreon.com/posts/22805640

rougeworld

So understandably everyone loves the sex fantasy part but what is being designed to make it more clenching that brings the player in for more like survival is good so crafting and such as well?

Anonymous

The only problem I have with survival mechanics is that designers tend to force the player to eat and drink enough to kill a normal person, never mind satiate their needs. Having to keep an eye out for food and occasionally stop to craft something to eat is fun exploration focused roleplaying. Having to constantly stop fun gameplay to babysit my character by shoving lethal amounts of food and water down her throat is not, at least not for me. I want to play on hardcore survival, but if it's too annoying I won't. But so long as I can turn it off (or even better, modify the timers either in menu or at the start of a game like the better Bethesda survival mods allow) I won't care. I don't know how others feel, but that's my opinion.

Paligap

Hard Survival would be a nice feature so the game rely on survive and sex but... hard survival must be very balanced so it is not too punitive (I mean to fast like you die very quicly etc...)

Anonymous

You should add futanari girls to interact with female characters

Anonymous

Adding different game mode for game. Its the best decisions. Always include a difficulty level and a sandbox (easy mode).

Anonymous

I would like to thank you for this great game, I enjoy it very much. You did a great job and it's very promising ... and damn sexy! Is there a plan to integrate more "special interest features" in the game, like impregnation / pregnancy themes or centaur-like creatures? Anyway: keep up the good work. You have my full support!

Anonymous

For role play purposes a pvp capture system would extend the life of the game dramatically.

Anonymous

Just want to start by saying this looks great. I was hoping to see a survival element in this, and something along the lines of level 1 there would be perfect, and would love to see a small amount amount crafting to complement the survival aswell(warerskin, torch, etc) Also just a personal thing but having weapons for flight mode like a blade and doing fly by attacks would be super cool

Anonymous

Why not option for all 3 of the features like a ingame setting to change the survial mode difficulty from none to normal to hard?

Anonymous

pls implement every dificulty to the game, coz i will love the hard mode so bad <3 (and again, congrtatulations for this awesome work ^^ this game its the best! <3)

Anonymous

i do love how much work has gone into this game. i'd say that the light survival is probably the best option honestly

Anonymous

kinda already a thing, if you edit the 'clothes' of a female you get male genitalia as one of the options for clothing and you can then engoy a simple form of what you want, (the fanny rubbing animations become futunari animations if i remember correctly) ofc it is extremely simple compared to say, actually doing a fully futunari character or option, but still a thing, engoy, maybe. :p i do agree though would like to see such a thing fully integrated at some point.

Anonymous

I would bounce back and forth if possible. As it is right now, I like to jump on just to fly around. That would be a bummer to starve to death while I'm in chill flying mode. On the other hand, there are times that I would welcome the added challenge and wanna fight.

Anonymous

Looking forward to playing this game. I find light survival the best option. Not too easy and with af penalty.
