Greetings dear supporters,
first of all: We did it! thanks to you all we reached our next goal of 35k. We are really overwhelmed by the amount of support and positive feedback we are getting from you so far. As mentioned we are making a little video where we answer some frequently asked questions about the project. We will make a post for it once we are done.
We are using these last few days before Christmas downtime to do some planning and organizing for next year. Along with that we have been doing some thinking with our game designer about survival elements of the game. Right now we have the idea to implement 3 levels of severity for survival mechanics that the user can set in the game settings:
Level 0: No survival, the character needs neither food nor sleep.
Level 1: Light survival, the character can experience hunger/thirst, and will need regular sleep. When hunger/thirst is at its most severe the player will be penalized with the following:
-No stamina regen.
-Max. stamina capped at 50%
-No Life regen.
When sleep deprivation is at its maximum the player will be penalized with the following:
-Blurry, warpy, distorted vision.
Level 2: Hard survival, pretty similar to level 1 but with 2 critical additions:
Once hunger/thirst reaches its maximum the player will slowly lose life over time resulting in death by starvation if it reaches zero.
Once sleep deprivation reaches its max the screen distortions will be more extreme and disturbing than level 1 and the player has a chance to simply fall asleep on the spot. If that happens during combat the player is certainly gonna lose that fight.
These aspects are still in design phase so we are still open for feedback/suggestions :)
We will also post a little poll asking patrons which one of these levels they would most likely play with.
