The Tape (Patreon)

This started as an sfx test but Kelly's performance is great (as always) so I thought I would share it with you guys. The sfx test is really around the throat stab and the spurting blood. I've done it twice in this video - once with digital squibs and again with practical fx. I also did something new with the spreading blood pool at the end. Let me know what you think.

Rookie Agent Kelly has her first important assignment: guard a sensitive recording at the agency safe house until the next morning. It's a seemingly simple assignment - but there are other agencies that want that recording and will stop at nothing to get it. 

A colleague enters and tells Agent Kelly that the chief has sent him over for back up. Kelly questions this because she just spoke to the chief and he didn't mention it - the next thing she knows, a knife is plunged into her guts. The traitor grabs her throat from behind and stabs her repeatedly in the belly and chest. He offers to make her death quick if she tells him where the tape is. She is defiant at first but eventually the pain is too much and she gives in. 

He walks her around the desk and sits her down, while he retrieves the tape. She begs and bargains for her life, saying she won't say anything about his betrayal, but she knows her death is coming. The rogue agent moves behind her and stabs her in the neck twice. He holds the knife in her throat for a while as Kelly coughs up blood again and again. He pulls his knife out and blood spurts from her throat. 

She collapses on to the desk and tries to reach for the phone but her blood loss is too great and she slips away.
