It wasn't my intention to attend DEFCON. I had consciously decided to boycott it in fact.

This being said, I still wanted to see my friends who would be visiting for the conference, so I planned to bring my own cool-aide to the party and hold the loose and impromptu "noodleCON".

I crashed the foodcourt this weekend with NoodleFeet, to chat with my friends and give hugs in passing. I was also handing out static bags filled with raw pasta, encouraging people to create an electronic pasta art badge in the hardware hacking village (mainly because I wanted to infiltrate the con with my nonsense)

Where it was my intention to remain at a distance, my friend Scotland was kind and insistent enough to get me a badge to DEFCON proper. So, after a day of camping on the fringe, I was suddenly in the thick of things.

The hardware people seemed to create their own massive ship, which they crashed head-long into DEFCON; taking it over in a very dominant way. My people came to stake their flag in the ground, and this might have tipped the scales for me. The vibe felt different. The people, the conversations, the experience as a whole felt better. I enjoyed myself a lot, and that was in a large way due to the fact that many of my close friends attended this year :)

My romp through the villages during the day, and my experience dancing with my friends all night was exactly what I needed at this busy point in my year.

I want to thank Drew from OSH Park especially for facilitating in the production of the first NoodleCON badge. It was the thematic entity that bound my weekend together and gave it purpose :)

And again, I send all my love to Scotland for obtaining a badge for me <3

Noodle also sends all his love to the guy who appeased his need for pasta art and made him a special !isRobot badge:

Thank you to everyone, old friends and new friends alike. It was a great memory I'm grateful to have <3
