Now that’s funny . Our generation , and I identify with Isabelle, has been dragged kicking and screaming into the technology age .

Anonymous

I was worried your account had been hacked! Lol

Wow, what a voice! I especially enjoyed Napoleon's rooms. An incredible treat, thank you.

Anonymous

It was so worth the wait. I loooooved it. And the end was so beautiful - tears of joy

Anonymous

Wonderful to see..How do you manage to get invited to things like this or can anyone buy tickets? Susanne x

Oh, Isabell. Oh, Isabell. Your fingers were so fickle. In a flash they‘d erased and just caused quite a pickle. Thankfully in a cloud, like an iron-cladded vault, a copy was stored, save from secret assault. From now on read the sign that‘s attached to the latch: Mummy, please keep away. You simply mustn‘t touch ! 😂

Am back.. 😜

Loved this vlog. The music was beautiful. A LaLande/Chateau Diaries CD compilation would be a best seller! So much talent.

Lynne Sands

Wonderful, thank you 💕

Anyone can buy tickets! We were told about it by some lovely b&b guests at Lalande, and are so happy that we got tickets!

Anonymous

Excellent I’ll look forward to seeing you all dressed up tonight :-)

Well, what treat! WHAT AN EVENT! Am guessing this is a treat for the Lalanders from Stephanie... And what a treat for us too. I love the historical context right up to present day politics. The glory of the rooms is STAGGERING. The only malachite bowl I've seen bigger that that one is a huge pair of urns dwarfing it in St Petersberg's Hermitage (Czars Winter Palace).. Oh what money, power and taste can buy! Delicious tables, stunning decor & fabrics & chandeliers.. Wow.. And the singer accompanied by a classical guitarist.. Beautiful. I visited Versailles as a girl guide aged 15.. Not completely lost on me as I adored the gardens and the facades. But this special inside peek .. Fabulous. Thank you.. I can't wait for the next Chateau Diaries version 💋💋

Anonymous

And all the more memorable for it! Your posts are always anticipated but now it is even harder to wait!!

Anonymous

Beautiful video - such a privilege to see behind the scenes at the Trianon!

Anonymous

simply wonderful

Anonymous

The great thing that we could see in the room how Napoleon and his family would actually be spending their time in form of "actors". It's sometimes difficult to visoualize life at that time !

Anonymous

So beautiful. What an amazing palace. Thank you for sharing 😊

Anonymous

Can't wait to see the rest of your magical evening!

Anonymous

Oh to win lotto and move to France from Aus with the doggos😍

Anonymous

I was wondering what happened. Hilarious that mummy deleted it 🤣

Anonymous

Oh Isabelle! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰

Kathryn Grace

I'll bet Stephanie wasn't cross with Mummy. Though we know how cross Mummy would have been had things been reversed. lol

Heidi Panella

Oops! Well, Happy Birthday, Philip! What a nice birthday party they had for you at Versailes, eh? And well-deserved. So glad you all got to go and enjoy it. You look wonderful. Seeing the de Gaulle rooms was a treat. They picked the right decorator, for sure.

Stephanie, since you admired the candelit interiors of the Grande Trianon so much, here is what I use for my home, and these would look beautiful at Lalande in your new chandeliers: https://www.movingflamecandles.com/moving-flame-chandelier-bulb-for-candelabra-base. This is probably the same as used by Versailles, and I know they use them in the period rooms at the Metropolitan Museum. Museums use these because: 1. No fire hazard and 2. Doesn't drip wax on the furniture and rugs. There are also battery operated versions that I have all over my house which have a remote and a timer. It's like Beauty and the Beast - invisible hands light candles all over my house at dusk. Magical!

Anonymous

Wow! What an amazing evening I can't wait to see the rest :) Thank you for sharing with us. The opera music at the end was beautiful.

Anonymous

cannot wait to visit here!!

Anonymous

I love the Regency Napoleon Period and of course Jane Austen! As a past Regency Society participant I almost wanted to pull out one of my Regency gowns, sip my glass, fancy my hair, wear my tiara and sit in the music salon and admire all the well dressed elegant ladies and gentlemen in the ballroom. Thank You, for bringing so many dreams come true moments! You all look wonderful!

Anonymous

LOL!!! Brilliant mummy! You’re an amazing asset to team Lalande. Even when In South Africa 🇿🇦 😂😂❤️👍😘

Anonymous

OMG!!! Ohhhh mummy Isabelle that's an innocent mistake! 🙄🤔You are forgiven👍🤗🥰 I thought Stephanie you had a problem in uploading. I just kept pressing the button but nothing happened. Until I read your message with a funny explanation. What a lovely video. I enjoyed seeing Versailles again with you all wearing these amazing period costumes👏🥰Couldn't wait for tonight vlog🤗👍

This video melted my heart. 19 years ago my husband and I visited Versailles and by pure luck got tucked into the back of a French tour of Napoleon’s apartment at Grande Trianon. His bedroom has the most magical colour combo I’ve ever seen - no photograph seems to be able to capture the essence of the colour like one can see in person. It was a real gift to be able to join the group - the only downside was that we don’t speak French. So thank you! Thank you for filling in the blanks of our tour all those years ago. 🇨🇦❤️🙏 And welcome home.

Beautiful!

Thank you, Stephanie, for your gracious selflessness in sharing such treasures with us. To see so many "in the background" spaces is such a thrill. I feel deeply blessed.

Thank You Stephanie for these 2 videos of Versailles. We were so fortunate to have visited 3 years ago. It is so amazing to see the beautiful chandeliers and the rooms all lit and be able to enjoy the ambiance of the evening compared to seeing it during the day with all the tourists. You brought back so many wonderful memories of our trip. Happy you are home safely! Fondly, Mary Ellen

Kimberly Dale

Well clearly you need to all dress in period costumes at LaLande all the time and make all the lighting be that wonderful candlelight!!!

Denise Behrends

What a splendid tour! This inspires my husband and I to return to Chateau de Versailles. We spent so much time in the Palace and the Gardens, that we were not able to fit in a tour of the Grand Trianon. It is clearly a must see on our next visit! The grandeur of the architecture and the splendor of the décor is stunnning. Thank you, Stephanie, for bringing us behind the scenes on this private tour.

Anonymous

I was hoping you’d be the one singing Stephanie. And you and your costume are beautiful.

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie for inviting us to come and vist with you while visiting this beautiful place

Daniel Hammond

Beautiful place. Lovely to see it. Thank you for the video!

Anonymous

What a fun video! Thank you!

Anonymous

Lovely, all of it. I want to do this, it would be a dream. When I went to Versailles they opened the Palais for us, it’s a crazy story. And then we got locked inside the gardens and couldn’t get out, that was scary. We couldn’t find anyone to let us out, and thought we’d be spending the night there. I keep that adventure very close to my heart. Crazily amazing!

What a magical place, I felt I was there with you. Thank you for vlogging the evening even though you where there to enjoy yourself. Happy birthday to Philip he won't forget his 25 on the steps of Versailles.

Anonymous

I always see bolster pillows in bedrooms in grand homes. Did people actually use them to put their heads on for sleeping or are they decorative? Did servants bring in regular pillows for sleeping?

Anne Green

Stephanie - having seen the main YouTube video of that incredible night already to now (mon 1pm) go & watch this one made just for us your Patreons I’m beyond excited 🥂 Taking Us all to the Ball with you & the LaLande team was truly the most incredible ‘experience’ to have not experienced ‘for real’ yet YOU made US all feel like we had ALL attended with you 💕 🤗 I’m lost for words on this Patreon Video & to think when I joined (April 2020) I just wanted to help you get the survey done to restore your lake !

Anonymous

Loved the tour and the concert. Thank you.

Anonymous

Hello - I am new to being a patreon and I am not sure how to find everything. I have foundyour vlogs page, as you can see, but I don't know where to access the community page or where to find the current wish list and where money is going each month. Is there another place to go to find more about LaLande? Thanks so much - I love the patreon posts and I look forward to learning more about being a patreon. With best regards, Kay Hanson :)

Anonymous

Hi Kay! Stephanie puts out a report once a month about where the funds are going. You can also see the charities that have been selected for each month in the info section of each Cadeaux at the Chateau that airs every Monday. Stephanie is very good about keeping us in the loop about expenses and where they are being routed.

Anonymous

Can you see Versailles in one day? It wasn’t even in my agenda until I saw it through Stephanie’s vlog and now it’s on my bucket list!!! I was supposed to be in France in September and November but it looks like the trips will not take place until next year. Oh well 😢. At least I have more time to plan

Anonymous

One day I hope you will share your adventure at Versailles! That kind of sounds amazing 😆 although I probably would have been panicking!

Anonymous

Magnificent!

Anonymous

Thank you so much for the response! :)

Anonymous

Thank you so much for the fantastic tour! It was so fun to see you all in your beautiful attire. Loved the music at the end, I also sang that when I studied voice. 😊

Erica Anne Meloe

I’m new to the community-so just catching up! This behind the scenes was incredible. I visited Versailles about four years ago, and it poured the entire time! It was so nice to see rooms that are not normally open to the public. Thank you Stephanie for doing this!
