New patron, so excited to be here!

Anonymous

Great update The emblem has to be a peacock 🦚 for sure

Anonymous

I just love how natural you are …new hairstyles unite!! Wonderful thank you xx

Anonymous

Happy to see things coming together

Anonymous

Loving the architect drawing ideas and I agree with all your ideas Stephanie. What about the peacock from the logo on the entry balcony. All very exciting.

Anonymous

Just wondering how Steve is making out with your fathers tiles for kitchen ? Lots of exciting things going on , thanks for all your great vlogs 😍

Anonymous

So exciting!

Anonymous

Any update on the chicken houses in the orchard 🐓 🏡

Anonymous

I love the stables design. It is elegant but still robust enough to hark back to when the chateau was a defensive building. I really enjoy these monthly updates, keep up the amazing work Stephanie and the whole la Lande team (family.)

Anonymous

It just keeps getting more exciting!

Anonymous

Have a wonderful time away Selmar and it will be super that you can get to spend some time with your Mum xx

Anonymous

It is so reassuring to see you so well surrounded and taken care off and with the means now at your disposal you can finally do all that you dreamnt of before, it must be such an amazing feeling. Many hugs and assorted sincere affection from the other Stephanie ( I'm sure that there are a few of us! ) xoxoxoxo

Anonymous

I forgot about the chicken's! I guess we will have to wait for Selmar to return.

Anonymous

I just woke up in Texas to this wonderful update. Many prayers for all of you lovely people. Keep up the good work. God Bless Selmar on his journeys.

Anonymous

Enjoy Italy! Not too much filming - make time for relaxation too! x

Anonymous

Can't wait to see this!! Loved the last update!!!

Anonymous

These updates are great! Its been hard to follow all the videos with summer vacations and social lives starting to get busy again. Its really nice to have a run through of all the progress and the plans. I am very excited about Gerry and Nati's apartments - and the plans you have for the facade! I am wondering whether the architect is planning to have the courtyard and stables keep a similar style. It would be wonderful to hear more about how she is making these decisions (e.g., a wooden balcony vs. stone vs. iron). Is it to keep with the historical period the wing was built? Perhaps once you have the plans all decided it would be great to interview her to talk through the plans similar to how you and Davy spoke about the garden plan! Lots of love from Switzerland

Anonymous

Thanks Stephanie for the update. I like all your choices, as usual! So fun to wake up to one of your videos waiting!

thechateaudiaries

He got everything digitised and then paused for a while as he's been so busy organising his move to France, but he's looking forward to getting back to it soon!

Anonymous

I can't imagine a better emblem for La Land than a Hedgehog with a tiara.

Anonymous

Loved this month's update! I'm thrilled to hear the Chapel restorer is feeling much better and starting this month! Yay! There was so much great information in this update that I can't recall it all - and that's very exciting. I hope Selmar has a lovely vacation, and enjoy Italy Stephanie! Enjoy the summer - all the best!

thechateaudiaries

I can't describe how incredible it feels - life is simultaneously exactly the same and completely different! Every day seems to bring new excitement :)

Anonymous

Very interesting, thank you Stephanie.

Anonymous

Fantastic!!!! Wonderful to see things progressing. I love the idea of a peacock or even the CL emblem that I believe Steve came up with for the front of the chateau!!! Lots of love from America! ❤️❤️❤️

Anonymous

Selmar we will miss you… for the month… but you know sister Stephanie, and all the lalanders will be on high watch with your new love…..It will be like a young high school boy bringing home a new girl to meet the family……hahah…..we’re very happy for you selmar, you’re such a lovely person who deserves a lovely girl….be gentle Stephanie …..hahahaha ❤️

Anonymous

So excited for Gerry having that lovely view of the Chapel from his apartment. I do think having a peacock above the front door would look amazing especially on a plane stone balcony. Side note for Kara white onion skins makes an amazing orange or yellow dye and red onion skins makes a lovely purple dye. Just make sure it is set using salt and cream or tartar if I remember correctly other wise it will wash out or fade rapidly.

Anonymous

Love the more delicate ornate iron balconies and think they would look lovely on multiple windows! Maybe even have smaller versions for window box plantings. Have you thought about adding lantern style lighting to the facade? A softer lighting would be a throwback in time and give such a romantic feel to nighttime views!

Anonymous

Another busy period ahead so exciting to see it all coming together Well done everyone 👏

Anonymous

A wonderful coverage for the 1st of the month. A tree you might like to consider is the "Flowering dogwood" strange name but it's a very majestic shape covered in flowers with a divine perfume.

Tina Winther

Glad to hear the stonemasons will be back to fix and further work under supervision and I’m sure the digger will save labor and time for many projects. As much as I love hedgehogs, I vote for a peacock above the door. The lime trees in the courtyard will take the edge off the heat there, hopefully. I sent a video on your Instagram with a video by Bunny Guinness where she shows hers cut in a barrel shape- perhaps something to consider? Happy Travels to you, Philip and Selmar! Much Joy!!!

Anonymous

Thank you Stephanie, I love these updates. Can't wait to see you and Phillip in Italy. I adore you exploring new places. I now need to see more of Le Mans. Keep well, with love from the other side of the planet, Australia.

Anonymous

Just loved this Stephanie, so much information. So very pleased about the plans for the balconies, they are going to look amazing when they are finished. So pleased Gerry is arriving on the 15th to see you. Its been too long with Covid restrictions. My Brother arrives this Sunday and so I know how much it means to you. Selmar, I am sure you and Tatiana will be amazing together and I wish you both good luck, have a lovely holiday. Dan and the digger! Are you sure about that Stephanie Lol. Have a lovely weeks, stay safe. Lots of Love from the Dordogne xxx

Anonymous

Love the monthly update. It feels as though we are all in the kitchen having a chat.

Anonymous

Wonderful video! Really enjoyed the updates. My vote: the two iron baconies on the two outer windows, with a stone balcony at the center window. And it must be an image of a PEACOCK! Thank you for the delightful update!

Anonymous

Thank you for the morning suprise!! So many exciting things going on. 🙂

Anonymous

The Peacock symbolism really suits LaLande. The Peacock is revered in most cultures. Welcoming, Compassion, Self-confidence, Self-esteem, Dignity, Refinement, Knowledge, Pride, Beauty, Protection and Rebirth

Anonymous

Thank you for the update. It makes us feel part of your wonderful chateau. Do take care on your and Philips trip. No overdoing it. Glad to hear Gerrys coming back soon and that Isabelle and Percy are keeping well . You are a true inspiration to us all Much love xxx

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, thank you for the great update. I’m so excited for all that is happening there. Don’t let anyone put you off the chanticleers. I planted an avenue of Chanticleer Pears here in Melbourne at our previous home. They are absolutely stunning in all seasons. They have beautiful blossoms in Spring, gorgeous shady green leaves that make a beautiful swishing sound during Summer breezes, stunning bright yellow/orange coloured leaves during Autumn, and the beautiful bare branched sculptural conical shapes that reach to the sky during Winter. I absolutely love them. Whatever you decide will be gorgeous. Sending you lots of love from Melbourne. 😘🇦🇺🎶

Anonymous

Good decision abt the trees in the court yard. It needs that volume and height. It's like furniture, with more you can create new rooms within the room, too little it just becomes empty. Look up Volker Hermes, his portraits it's a fantastic way to make something become more visible thru hiding it first. Also congrats to Dan! A proper estate needs proper equipment :)

Janis Paterson

It's all coming together now! I think the emblem should be the Peacock 🦚🦚🦚

Anonymous

I have feeling that Selmar just broke a few hearts. 😀

Anonymous

Great news as always. Have a great vacation in Italy - we went to Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca and Cortona in 2019. Frances Mayes house is on the outside of the city.

Anonymous

Sorry if this a repeat. I posted a comment but it disappeared. I "think" you said previously that you were waiting for planning permission for Gerry's and Nati's windows. And that Nati's might eliminate the need for her floor to be 2 levels. So permission for Gerry's came through. Please tell us more about Nati's!

Anonymous

I’m very curious to see how Selmar makes out with the online dating. I’ve been thinking about it myself.

Anonymous

Im not sure it was online dating, just that he met her online. So could have been through Social Media or chat rooms

Anonymous

People can stop trying to marry him and Stephanie off now 😂

Anonymous

Sorry - I meant meeting people on line; not necessarily an actual dating site

Anonymous

We had a flowering pear tree at our last house in the south of England and it didn’t smell and was very pretty.

Anonymous

I’m having foils in my hair today as well, so we’re unexpectedly having a synchronized hair moment, although mine will not be filmed courtesy of Philip. Your foils looked rather edgy and cool, but on me they just look like I’m trying to receive transmissions from outer space. Like so many have said, it’s hard to envision anything other than a peacock over the door - the branding for your channel by Steve of course. And while I’m here molesting your time…something I’d love to know in your future videos is whether or not you’ve heard what the Marquis’s family think of all the renovations you’ve achieved and planned, I bet they’re thrilled. Hooray for the return of Scotman, it’s GOOD to know he’s well!!!

Anonymous

Thank you for the update! I love your idea on a (more simpler) stone balcony in the center - it goes with the building more than the iron one would, I think. I'm with you on the concern for Selmar. Hopefully it will work out in the end, though :)

Anonymous

Thanks for the updates! I love the concept of the possible three balconies on the front and using the peacock as the symbol on the middle one over the entrance door! While I got a giggle out of using the hedgehog with a tiara, the peacock is a bit more majestic and could be used as the logo for Lalande as you continue to brand the chateau! Have a great trip to Italy!

Anonymous

I agree with all those above who said a peacock emblem should be placed atop the door to mark this era of it’s history. Thank you for the lovely update Stephanie, these are always some of my favorite videos.

Anonymous

What a terrific report. Stephany thank you so much. It’s nice having an on-site your stylist. You’ve done a great job keep up the good work we all appreciate it.

Anonymous

Maggie Alegre Thank you, Stephanie! Everything looks fantastic and I can’t wait to see the completion of each project! I’m glad Isobelle and Percy are safe and that soon you (and we!) will be reunited with dear Gerry! Can’t wait to see your cousin Amory again! He’s going to make such a change to the Grande Salon! BTW - is he still dating the woman he met at the singles weekend? What a great vlog update. Now I have to run to Selmar’s channel to investigate his new lady 😆. You’re correct when you say a lot of people have his back! 😆

Anonymous

It’s all so exciting!! Thank you for sharing

Anonymous

I think a peacock emblem too. I love all the exciting things that are happening. So happy Gerry is returning soon.

Anonymous

What a nice surprise this morning to have the monthly update! Loved all the news and plans. I am so excited to see all the results. August will fly by with your vacation to Italy and family coming to stay. I agree with the previous statements that it must be the peacock. Loved this today 😻. Best wishes to all!

Anonymous

Wonderful update Stephanie! September will be a very busy and exciting month. I wish Selmar a wonderful vacation. I hope that meeting his girlfriend goes well. Big step!

Anonymous

I’m recovering in bed from hand surgery and a little stir crazy, so this update was just the distraction I needed. What a pleasant surprise!

Anonymous

Hello 👋 Having bought a mini digger several years ago, I think it is a great investment if you can do it because hiring one with the delivery is quite expensive and you don’t necessarily have a day worth of work at once and it keeps its value really well, we could sell it today for what we paid 6 or 7 years ago, they are so in demand ! We thought we’d keep it for 2 or 3 years and we still have it because their are always jobs for it !

Anonymous

I would love some wool for needle felting , save some hid me for September please .

Anonymous

Great update as always Stephanie. Things are moving along at a rate of knots. My last holiday before Covid in Sep 19 was to Umbria and Tuscany and did visit Cortona. It's a beautiful town, full of history with amazing views if you walk away from the square, you can see for miles. Under the Tuscan Sun is one of my favourite films so I had to visit. Perugia is also lovely where I stayed. You'll have an amazing time. ❤❤

Anonymous

i was so glad to hear that you wont be planting bradford pears!! they are terrible trees...invasive and i cant even describe how horrible the smell is when they bloom. we had one in front of our house when we moved in ..i took it out but it managed to root under our circular drive to the other side and send up a sprout which i have been trying to kill for years but the roots are under the driveway and i cant get to it...all i can do is keep cutting down the sprout! terrible tree!!

Anonymous

Wishing Selmar well and happy on his vacation. Stay safe and enjoy! Stephanie, My vote is for the bas-relief HEDGEHOG over the entrance. Peacocks are a fairly common symbol (apologies to Thor) and they do not evoke the same degree of affection that a hedgehog does. It is impossible to see one and not be delighted by it. Your ambiance at Lalande is one of enthusiasm. warmth and affection. Your hedgehogs have been a continual source of delight for us and they are evocative of the joie de vivre so characteristic of your Chateau and its occupants. So my vote is definitely with the hedgehog, who has his own sense of dignity too, although not at all stuffy, like a peacock or a lion or some such more commonly used symbol.

Jason Dubey

LOVED the highlights!! ...and the hedgehog coat of arms prelim was super cute!

Anonymous

Please make sure Ruby is taken care of while Selmar is away

Anonymous

Please take a moment to go and look at the garden scape at Debbie Travis's new dolce Vita retreat space in Tuscany. You can find her on YouTube. I know that it'll be specific to that area of the region but her landscape designer is also English and has been doing installations all around the world. 😘

thechateaudiaries

Sadly my cousin split up with her a few months ago (after a couple of years together), which is partly why he's now free to join me in France

Anonymous

I had the thought that a peacock and a ram (Aloysius) on a shield type emblem would be very fitting. Thanks for the update and the plans for the barn look fantastic. Enjoy your trip to Italy and I'm eager to see Scottman again.

Anonymous

I am thinking of a peacock roosting with its tail feathers down and a hedgehog nesting in the bottom of the tails. I will send a picture on Instagram to show what I mean.

Anonymous

Love hearing how well things are coming along. Best wishes to you all 🙂

Tina Winther

Hmm, maybe one of the community’s artists could try creating some black outlined cutout designs for a lantern or two in back, facing the lake and the forest. A series of forest creatures. In future they could be laser cut and fore sale on the web shop with pct proceeds to innovative earth/wildlife causes.

Anonymous

Lol lol lol lol, couldn’t help but just keep laughing to myself seeing you filming with your foils still in your hair!!!!! I’m so glad that you feel so relaxed to share this with us all, it’s like being part of one large extended family….. So glad to see the plans for the balcony in the 2nd courtyard don’t crossover the large barn door opening as was one of the original ideas, I’m not sold on the spiral staircases at the moment, I had a straight or dog legged wooden one in mind! Love your option of 1x stone balcony flanked by metal ones, I would suggest using the Lalande peacock logo designed by Steve with the CL included. Now for those lime trees around the fountain!!!!! I will admit to probably being the most vocal about them and I will state once again I’m not in love with them. But I will go with Stephanie being the last word on this and that she knows what works for what is her home at the end of the day, but be warned, if you then remove them, it will be the biggest ever case of “I told you so” lol 😂 Last but not lest, so glad to hear your starting to do some filming for Christmas, this hopefully will lighten your load when it comes around, but fully aware that December is Youtube revenue gold and has to be optimised….

Anonymous

I think a bee would be a nice emblem, perhaps a queen bee w/ a crown

Anonymous

While it is perhaps not traditional, a combined stylized camera, musical note, and peacock feather blended together seems like it would represent the best of (old) Lalande and what makes it so special going forward!

Anonymous

So many wonderful things happening at Lalande! The trip you're planning sounds exciting. Looking forward to all your vlogs on that. I really like the balcony in the second court yard. The spiral staircases are so pretty. Is there a way to heat the steps of the stairwell to keep it clear of ice and snow? I really like the adorable hedgehog above the front entrance. The only other animal that I think of when I think of Lalande is Thor or Aloysius. You all enjoy so many things at Lalande (art, music, dance, food, cosplay, etc.) it would be difficult to choose just one symbol. If I really had to pick just one, it would be Thor. I'm not excited about the trees being planted in the main courtyard. I really like the trees in the planter boxes pictured in the old postcard Philip found. Or having greenery growing tall against the facade. I agree you should give the trees a try and see if you like them once they are in place. They can be moved if you don't like it. Congrats on the mini digger. I think you should do the first symbolic dig once it arrives. Don't forget your yellow hard hat. No one looks cuter in a yellow hard hat than Stephanie Jarvis. <3

Very excited for Selmar, excited about Kara/Cara and the wool experiences. Natural dyeing is fascinating - please film lots of it. The artistry combined with the chemistry are extraordinary. Filming that much on a short holiday.... does not sound like a holiday, but it does sound likes the old phrase "a change is as good as a rest." Which is sometimes true. :) Love the drawings of the courtyard balcony/fire escapes. I think it would be very nice if you could somehow rig up an decorative ironwork arm off the balcony, that could swing out and hold a hoist or block & tackle with a hook to lift a crate or basket that can hold luggage, laundry, tea trays, flowers, surprises. I'm thinking something like you see on old barns to lift hay, which would be a nice nod to the history of those buildings. I know there is internal access to those spaces, so my suggestion may be moot. I am not on Team Tree for the main courtyard, and I urge you to do something we have done before - mock up the trees with cardboard, sheets, ladders, bamboo, balloons, anything that can mimic their shapes to help you finalize your decision before you spend the energy, time, and money to make such a big change to that space. Plus it would make for a very entertaining video. :)

Anonymous

It will be fun to watch Kara work with the wool. I hope all goes well for Selmar. I met my husband via online dating but I met a lot of disappointments who I found no physical chemistry in person with before that. Even seeing my now husband in person for the first time (with whom I did have chemistry) was super weird and I wondered “oh God! why did I invite him here?” But it turned out fine and two kids and 15 years later, we are still together. I guess if you don’t take a chance you’ll never know. Have a wonderful trip to Italy Stephanie!

Anonymous

Hello Stephanie, Thankyou so much for sharing. It’s so exciting to see plans drawn on paper. Just a thought about the motif , have you thought about the stunningly beautiful drawings that your father made for the tiles in the kitchen. He certainly had captured the very essence of Lalande. Also you can look up, at the balcony and see that he has become a part of Lalande for everyone to cherish. Once again Thankyou, take care and lots of love 😘

Anonymous

Forgot to say that I suggest either a peacock for the doorway, OR a shield/heraldic design like someone mentioned above - peacock, ram, hedgehog, and a bee. The bee in particular for how you have such a lovely, hard working, fruitful hive of humans there working together for common goals but that you are the queen bee. Esp symbolic since it would be under one of your own windows. Musical notes, vegetables, flowers, and artists' brushes would also suit your home. And regarding my suggestion to mock up the courtyard trees, if France is like the US, you probably have a neighbor with a plague of bamboo who would be thrilled if you sent Dan to cut down some to use to mock up the trees. I love bamboo, but it is tenacious stuff! I also lean towards metal balconies, because I'm assuming they are less expensive but also because they fit your light hearted style. And perhaps the seal/plaque/shield could simple be included in the central balcony this way - represented in the cast iron of the balcony over the main door. Perhaps even picked out in gold?

Anonymous

Stephanie, Did your father ever design a hedgehog 😉🦔?

Carrie Miller

Would it be too busy to have 3 images/symbols on the relief? One for each owner of the chateau? Someone mentioned a camera, music note, and peacock feather. If going the slightly more traditional animal route, perhaps Aloysius (for Nick, maybe 😁), Thor (for Stephanie), and perhaps a frog (for Michael, since he loves swimming)? Maybe three would be too busy? Perhaps very beautiful, highly ornate initials of Chateau de Lalande. Or something more abstract to somehow represent the spirit of Lalande, with its ability to knit strangers into family.

Anonymous

I love the idea of the logo with a peacock for the bas relief. Annalise does such beautiful hair coloring. She’s a treasure as any woman who finds a great hairstylist will tell you. I’m glad you’ve decided to buy the digger - the boys will find many uses for it.

Anonymous

I'm so excited to see the wool being spun!!! I made the little mushrooms at Christmas so if you'd like any made from la lande wool I can make it happen...

Anonymous

The emblem must be a peacock with fanned tail 🦚

Anonymous

Thanks for another good start of month update, Stephanie. It was interesting to see the architectural plans. I like your sense of fun, but I think for an emblem on the chateau façade that could be there long-term, something relevant to its history or location would be better, e.g. the arms or flag of the Berry region. Have a lovely trip to Italy. My own plan to ride my Moto Guzzi to lake Como for their centenary is scuppered, as the event is cancelled due to Covid.

Anonymous

Wow! So much happening! All the plans sound wonderful!!! Enjoy your vacation!!!! And your hair looks amazing!!!❤️

Anonymous

Just finished watching the update and was wondering whether the logo you use with CL andthe peacock that Steve created for you could become a Crest then you could have some sort of portico below, giving you the entrance you have always wanted. Would be interested on Mummy, Nick and Micheal's take on Davey's plans. Could you tell us, is Ian the builder on permanent staff now, or is he contracted per job. Enjoy Italy.

Anonymous

Motif is sorted me thinks….Stephanie in her foils, maybe in a dressing gown with cup of tea….doesn’t get much more la lande than that 😂😜

Anonymous

🥰🥰🥰

Anonymous

Such a wonderful update, with so much happening! That was a terrific monthly report Stephanie; light hearted, fun, newsy and filled with great news about everything LaLande. I agree with your thoughts about the main facade balcony choices, simple stone at the center and metal ones flanking on either side. As for the coat of arms, so many suggestions already, you will have such fun deciding, and I trust your impeccable taste for what will best suit LaLande! Enjoy your travels with Philip, while the new digger arrives for an inaugural event! Love it all! And most of all the infectious delight and enthusiasm of all the LaLanders, who have created this worldwide extended family. Thank you. Thank you.

Anonymous

I've been to Cortona twice. It's a lovely town. Enjoy!

Anonymous

I so enjoy these updates! Thank you!

Anonymous

You and Davey have amazing taste and it’s your home. I love gardens with trees. You can discover the secrets inside them. My parents gardens were separated by 9 and crab apple trees on one side and forsythia bushes on the aisles with massive lavender at the back. Lining the side of the rose garden were 2 of each: apples, peaches, cherries and plums. There was also a rock garden/retaining wall around the garage, and flower beds under every tree for shade lovers. It was an amazing garden all the way around with over 100 rose bushes. Trees are very special and outlive generations. I’ll mostly be happy to see the terrace fixed because that is alarming. Every time you walk toward the end my heart rate goes up!

Anonymous

Enjoy your vacation Stephanie and remember to take some "me" time. All the plans sound great. I wonder if there's an element or image of your father's art that could inspire the front door emblem?

Anonymous

🙋‍♀️😊💖💖💖💐🌞

Anonymous

Thank you for another wonderful update! Your willingness to invite us all in is so endearing! 😊 I too love the symmetry of a heavier stone balcony over the entrance with the medallion, and then balconies on either side. For the medallion, maybe a chateau in the background, with an open book (diary) overlaid, and a peacock image on its pages. I also like the CL with the peacock logo. Love the stable courtyard as well!

Anonymous

Oh and have a wonderful trip!!

Anonymous

For the balcony question, I love that the stone option has those tiered supports beneath it (not sure what the proper terminology is) that echo the same features on the turrets!

Anonymous

Great update Stephanie. It’s so nice to see something done with the wool. I’m anxious to see what Kara has planned. Natural dyes are a must. Lots of footage please. Also, my opinion for the facade emblem must be the peacock. It keeps all uniform with the Lalande logo etc. Have a wonderful time in Italy.

Anonymous

I would suggest a sort of portal around the frontdoor, with pillars on both sides, and the stone balcony, with the crest, on top. I think, you should ask Steve, who did the logos for you, if he could come up with something. The pillars would certainly make for a grand entrance, and then perhaps with some big urns on both sides 🙂 I really like the idea of the shaped trees in the courtyard, and I think they will look great, with the square hedges at the moat. Also, I think you should pick a beautiful, white hollyhock, and plant that around the chapel, maybe with some red roses and lavender too? 😍 The colour combo blue, white and red would fit great 😉 I am so sad, that I am not able to be a volunteer at the moment. I have wanted to do it for over a year, but I hope I will be able to, in the future.

Anonymous

I think the Lalande logo that Steve made would look beautiful over the main entrance

Anonymous

I would love to get a tshirt or hoody with the logo on it too. Is there any way to buy a digital copy?

Anonymous

The peacock seems to be an iconic symbol of La Lande, my suggestion would be to use the one Steve designed - its beautiful and whimsical at the same time.

Anonymous

Wishing you and Phillip a wonderful time in Italia, if you go to San Gimignano say hello to Saint Seraphina from me :-) I named my daughter after her.

Brenda Mcgee

Fabulous up date so happy for Selmar he’s found his love my heart is dancing for you Stephanie off to Italy my dream trip excited for the footage to come such gifts you give the progress on the apartments new digger plans for Lalande never ending fun laughter renovation guests my day is complete tres bien merci😍❤️😘😘👏👏👌👌

Anonymous

What about the great logo Steve made , that would look terrific on the facade. I'm actually very excited to see the transformation of the wool, fantastic idea! You always seem to attract so many interesting and talented guests/volunteers. Also so happy for Selmar :)

Anonymous

Steve’s logo is a great idea for the facade.

Anonymous

Enjoy your holiday and thank you for the update. Save travels

Anonymous

I love hearing about your plans for the chateau. Thank you for making this a regular petrean vlog. I think Steve's design would be a good emblem for the entrance. The stone balcony over the entrance is a great idea with the balconies on either side of it. Davey has been such a wonderful addition to the team - I would follow his suggestions. The chateau volunteers are so talented! I am looking forward to segments on wool spinning, etc. Have a great trip!

Anonymous

Nice review. For the emblem, how about the Lamb of God that is on the chapel door knobs?

Anonymous

Did the shutter dogs get installed? I know it’s a small thing but I keep thinking of the wind and banging shutters… I also just think they’re cool…

Anonymous

Thor with a crown of course! And it will match your logo!

Anonymous

Thank you for the update. I love the first of the month catch ups with all the projects! How is it going with the China pantry? Are you going to go ahead with the beautiful designs that Ian came up with and when is the lovely floor going in?

Anonymous

Stephanie would it be possible to get an update on where your clothes will be stored when the office is expanded? Love the first of the month updates - thank you!

Anonymous

thx for the update, still happy to be a patron :) re: the crest/ornament on the balcony/facade, i would suggest to think bigger. lalande is now a brand, think about the future, products you might want to sell, packaging, a proper logo. maybe think about hiring a graphic designer or a brand designer. who says that crests have to be ancient, why not create a new crest for lalande? i agree, nothing that mimics ancient nobility, and please nothing too cutsey, no hedgehog for me and thanks to cadeaux you're peacocked up for the next several hundred years. but maybe something more abstract with a story behind it? like sun and moon bc you party from dusk till dawn or something like the ornament of crossed gardening tools on the trumeau mirror, a gardening shovel, a pen, a cooking spoon and a paint brush....as symbols for the love of food, the creativity and the work that is going on at lalande, just two random ideas. anyway, this, i think, is where a professional could come up with some great stuff, it will be set in stone, after all, greetings :) PS: yes, i know steve has created a beautiful logo and i'm sure it looks stunning on letters etc, i am thinking in terms of balcony and masonry.

Theresa Romero

Thank you, dear Stephanie. It is all very exciting! 💗

Anonymous

Sorry to hear you are getting so much dissent about the trees. I'm very excited about them and can't wait to see them! I trust Davy won't steer you wrong. Tuscany sounds wonderful. Looking forward to the episodes from there and also to Selmar's holiday updates. Happy to hear he's found someone special...I definitely noticed he's had a bit of extra joie de vivre lately it seemed. Now I see why! ;-)

Anonymous

Stephanie, good morning from Sydney. I think a charming motive could be even a simple heart under which a banner motto of light love . Perhaps with crossed champagne glasses rather than wheat under the heart and perhaps a tiara above the heart representing the motto. Anything you put there should remain chic and long lasting.

Denise Behrends

I adore your idea of a central stone balcony with the bas-relief of a peacock, flanked on either side by the iron balconies. Only because I am always so interested in your thoughtful approach to your design decisions, I would love to hear the thought process in deciding to plant the trees directly into the courtyard, rather than into the moveable planters or urns—simultaneously reflecting the historical Lalande courtyard in the postcard, while also providing the flexibility to curate various “room” configurations for your ideal desired views within the courtyard. Please know that I am not in any way dissenting—truly just intrigued by the entire design process! I am confident that your intuitive vision will shine through to create the courtyard of your dreams! Thank you, as always for your interest in our ideas. Ultimately, listen to YOUR own inner voice, Stephanie, as it has served you well as your guide. Enjoy your holiday in Italy!

Anonymous

I am really enjoying the monthly updates about what is going on. I also really like the idea of the stone balcony flanked by the iron balconies. What about an image from one of "Daddy's" paintings or images you are working on for the kitchen tiles. This brings whimsy, something close to your heart Stephanie. He was with you when you purchased the Chateau and so much of him is still around. Alternatively, the whimsy of a Thor with a Crown or Tiara as the juxtaposition given anything is possible at La Lande.

What size are her shoes?!? Lol, sorry - couldn’t help myself ;) 100% agree about windows in gardens, they draw the eye. The trees are going to be spectacular in the courtyard! Enjoy your holiday!

Anonymous

Thanks for the update! So much is happening, even in August in France! LOL! Garden plans that don't work out can be changed. You won't know until you try. I have had bad experiences with the Bradford Pear, as well. I am glad that is not the variety you are considering. The stable plans look great! I like the 3 balcony idea on the front, or one long one? Steve's logo might still work with the letters cut into the shield (or whatever shape) and the peacock in 3-D? Have fun in Italy!!

Anonymous

Another wonderful update. I like the symmetry of the balconies either side of the entrance and think Steve’s logo or an image from your fathers tiles would make a good motif. However I’m not yet convinced the trees in courtyard will be successful but as long as you like them that’s all that matters . I’m so pleased for Selmar and look forward to meeting Tatiana and I’m happy Gerry will be returning. I’m also looking forward to Kara’s project and seeing what she produces. I’m so glad you’re preparing early for advent calendar so you don’t make yourself ill again but please take some time to relax while you’re in Italy. Enjoy.

Anonymous

Second post after a second thought: perhaps the motif over the front door should be some combination of the Marquis’s emblem and a your peacock? This would honor both the past AND the future. Not to include the Marquis in some fashion doesn’t pay homage to its history and could upset the family a lot.

Melissa & Rich Bakewell

Love that so many things are happening!! I personally love the idea of a peacock even though the hedgehog is cute!! Lol maybe a honey bee?

Anonymous

I really enjoy the updates. It's actually kind of amusing that this one was done in the middle of a hair appointment. Made me smile through the whole first half. I'm one who is doubtful about the trees in the main courtyard. If the lovely balcony is to be added won't the trees obstruct the view of it? Will the view from the windows out not be blocked? Also, will the trees not dwarf the lovely fountain? I suppose we'll see.

Anonymous

Be still my heart. It's been nearly a year of wondering what ever happened to the Manolos? Pretell, what size shoe does Tatiana wear? Please say size 38. Sending much love to all. xoxo

Anonymous

My thought exactly. ❤️ P.S. I'm the one who sent the shoes.

Wonderful update!!

A lovely update! My opinion…the Peacock is the symbol for LaLande, it’s the obvious choice. Maybe a hedgehog relief could be at the gate of the walled garden? Excited about the digger too, so much can be accomplished with one!

Christine VR

I adore the updates; nothing makes me happier than seeing progress going on at Lalande. So loving the facade changes - the spiral staircases and balcony apartments. Regarding the Main Entrance - yes I am in agreement with you - flanking windows should have a Juliet balcony in similar style to the ones on the other side BUT the main entrance needs a more defined portico entrance with a balcony overhead. I liked Davy's scratch drawing of what he saw as highlighting the main entrance door. As a future project re: the Terrace - will you be able to move ahead with the terrace stairs getting redone now? Would be great if the architect kept her eye on the same crew to get that job fixed up too. **How exciting for Selmar to meet his online love and see his mom for the first time in ages! Yes Stephanie you are correct; the Bathrobe mafia is going to be very protective of their family members' hearts! August is going to be glorious!!! Gerry and your cousin (Emmery? sp?) coming to stay a while must make your heart feels so glad! Your new volunteer(s) seem delightful - cannot wait to see the sheep' wool cleaned, carded and dyed!! So cool!! Looking forward to the guys having fun on the digger too! So much to look forward too. Have a great time in Italy - with old friends and new. It all sounds delightful. When you get back, the hardworking Ian will probably have a tonne of things done - he works really hard! Such a wonderful part of the Lalande team. I love being a patron here.

Christine VR

To be a true Lalande representation, it'll have to be an image of Thor's backside! LOL He rarely lets Stephanie see him from the front in full plumage!

Anonymous

The symbol has to be a peacock! Maybe a crowned or tiara'd peacock?

Anonymous

Thank you so much for another wonderful update. I'm so glad Mummy is safe and well even though we all miss seeing her at the chateau. I wonder if you would consider altering the facade to put a bigger double front door as the main entry door and a bigger balcony over it. Although that would be major work I know. It could make it more be more symmetrical to, as it could be centred. Or a pair of feature trees either side of the main door to make it more obvious? I love the twin small balconies on either side and the timber ones from the apartments too. Just sharing my thoughts as an idea that you have probably already considered. Everything is looking wonderful, It's amazing to see how far the gardens have come in the last year. I'm so excited to see the trees in the courtyard and the other new projects come to life. Everyone is doing such a wonderful job. Thank you once again. Stay safe and well.

I love your “real ness”! You are exactly what we see and there is no gile or pretense or fakeness about you! It’s so refreshing! I think that’s why your channel is so successful! I know I can’t wait till the NEXT vlog when I’m finished watching one. I love your excursions to other chateaux and especially other countries. Your trip to Italy is especially anticipated as my husband and I visited that beautiful country for our 30th anniversary. We are planning a trip to Germany and France for our 50th in May 2022. I hope we are able to visit LaLand and surrounding area at that time. Antiquing in France would be a dream! Maybe we can work in your garden if we are able to visit? I’d be happy just to rake leaves and help with spring cleanup! Hey! I can dream! So happy for Selmar! He has such a peaceful, gentle way about him. I vote for Peacock on main portico and other animals over the other window facades. That way when someone needs directions you just direct to the door with the sheep head or the hedgehog, or the fox…etc. But the main entrance should be a bit more grand so it stands out as the entrance. Right now it doesn’t seem to stand out at all. What about a couple of pillars supporting a balcony of stone or cement balustrade? Make it bit more grand in scale but the same design on the flanking windows. It just seems that a beautiful chateau deserves a grand entrance. Any word about filling the lake? What a beautiful view it would create! Thank you for allowing us to escape to France via video!

Anonymous

I'm so excited for the lime trees in the courtyard. I think Davy's right that such a grand building can use arbors of some height.

Anonymous

Wow thank you for the video stephanie! I absolutely loved to see the plans! For the design over the main door, I think your recent logo would be perfect: an elegant monogram with a peacock, timeless and simple :)

Sabine Goetz

Thank you Stephanie. Your updates are very much appreciated. Enjoy your mini-vacation.

Best Patron Vlog ever. So excited to hear about the projects and more importantly the updates on the family and Selma. Stephanie......get ready to be a shoulder for Salma to cry on in Sept. Those never met before, but I am in love relationships are tough. However, I am glad Selma is so happy at this time. Not that you will ever say but...have you thought about dating again or are you too free spirited and independent to go back down that road again? :-)

Julia Cobb

I enjoyed this update! So many great things happening at the same time! Really looking forward to Italy trip. I sounds wonderful. Nati’s apartment seems to be coming along now that the insulation is here. And permission for the windows is fantastic. I like the plans for Mummy and Michael’s apartment fire escape and balconies and the one for Gerald. If you’ve shown the wallpaper for the bath downstairs I’ve missed it. I know it will be beautiful. I’m excited about the digger. It will speed plantings up when planting in the front of the chapel and everywhere. I wonder what colors the wool with become. That’s going to be so much fun watching. You and Philip take care on your trip. Prayers for your safe journey.

Maybe your logo from the wallpaper for the portico? - nah - go with the tiara on the hedgehog. And install one over the grand salon fireplace too.

Anonymous

Love love the plans and the process of creativity, is so inspiring. Love your new guest I am a fibre fanatic, so I can’t wait to see her spinning and dyeing the wool into yarn. I would love to knit you a sweater with your ownLalande yarn. That would be such a joy to do. I will definitely sign up to be a volunteer one day soon. I can knit, cook, paint, tile, and garden. So please put me to work. Once this Covid is behind us all the world will be all of ours to explore again. France here we come😄🧶🌸🤔👍

Anonymous

As a active knitter and crafter, I can't wait to see the process of washing, spinning and dyeing the yarn. I hope you will film that. ☺️❤️

Anonymous

I loved this update - so many wonderful things happening. Glad that you opted for quality insulation as it will last and be better in the long run. My suggestion for the motif on the front door balcony via take a figure from one of your father’s drawings that will be used for the tiles above the stove or from one of his paintings.

Anonymous

Enjoy yor break in Tuscany. We went there for a holiday and it is stunning. Looking forward to seeing all or your plans coming to fruition and Iook forward to hear about the plans for next year.

Anonymous

This all sounds great, Stephanie! I am sure the trees in the courtyard will bring some lovely shade to it; I know you've said before that it gets very hot out there in the summer!

Anonymous

The style of the secondary courtyard balcony and stairs looks really nice. The emblem definitely needs to be the peacock but the hedgehog should absolutely be used somewhere. Jerry's apartment is going to have a wonderful view of the chapel!

Anonymous

The start of the month update and tour is terrific.

Anonymous

A great update Stephanie you covered so many things the plans for the front of the chateau look fantastic the balcony's will look great and the sprial staircase I think the trees in the court yard will look great so much going on I am pleased to here mummy and Percy are safe and well and Selma have a fantastic holiday and Stephanie enjoy you well deserved break

Anonymous

Love that you feel relaxed and confident enough with us to film in your foils. Many women wouldn't. Like others I think a peacock should be the emblem of Lalande. The design of 2 iron balconies with a stone one supported by pillars seems the best to me. Enjoy your time in Italy and I look forward to the vlogs. From one Leo to another enjoy your birthday month

Anonymous

The peacock for the emblem :).

Anonymous

In representing that so many people meet at Lalande, I think two peacocks, maybe facing eachother, could be an idea for the emblem....and maybe also a brand for things like stationary, trinkets for a future gift shop you mentioned in one of your videos etc. Thank you for letting us be part of all the developments!🙂

Teagan Straw

Thanks for the update! Couple of quick questions: any news on the lake? Are we going ahead with the second survey now that we have Davy’s initial survey done? Also any updates on the China pantry? Oooh last one how is the attic storage going? And one suggestion can you tape together some of the cardboard boxes from the gifts you get into the shape of the trees for the courtyard and then stand them up against ladders so we can see them as a mock up. I really just can’t picture how it would look from the front and how it would effect the entrance. With our overall goal of making the entrance hall door the clear main door, will the trees impact the few to that door or the new balconies? Will it clutter the facade when the balconies and the trees are both in place? At least with the mini digger if we have to remove them or replace gravel it will be much easier! Keep up the great work Steph!

Anonymous

The hedgehog with the tiara would surely look nice too.

Anne Green

Another fabulous monthly update Stephanie 🥂 They are becoming as much a highlight to my month as all your enjoyable vlogs always are too 🤗 My vote would be for a 🦚 just as you suggested the same & as a peacock is already a part of your new logo its perfect in my humble opinion - much love 😘

Anonymous

Great update! Enjoy your much needed vacation though it seems you will be working throughout... One suggestion for the fire escape railing, maybe instead of a simple cross shape ("×") you can mimic the wood shape from the top of the stables with a half circle and 3 beams that will tie it all up. I don't know if it is historically accurate or in keeping with the age of the chateau but I think it will look more unified. I think it has to be peacocks with tiaras for the emblem!

Laura & Jack

Such a wonderful update and it’s so exciting to watch all the changes happening. Your Patreon content is fabulous and such a reward for your regular supporters. Thank you, Stephanie!!

Anonymous

Dan has mentioned that he had given you the drone footage for the courtyard of the chateau Curious to know when you will be updating the intro to reflect all the “newbies” such as Phillip, Nati, Selmar etc ☺️

Anonymous

Lovely vlog update, thank you. Have a very well earned break in Italy! For the stone balcony under your window, I love the idea of being whimsical and creating a modern emblem for your chateau, to symbolise the new beginning since you bought it, and the sympathetic renovations you are doing. If not a hedgehog (although that could work if done well!) then it probably needs to be a peacock. When you showed the plans, I thought there was another emblem on the old wing of the chateau. Looked a bit like a stork, but is maybe a sundial? A graceful bird in flight or a peacock with full plumage showing would be magnificent as a device inside and outside the chateau

Anonymous

thanks for the update, I missed the update on your study, if there is anything. Absolutely LOVE the 2nd courtyard plans. I was afraid a balustrade wouldn't do justice to the place but this design is spot-on. Maybe even take it further to Nick&Maries appartment, but then that would mean people would be able to peek through their bathroom window, so maybe not. In the garden plans i missed the 2 towers near the lake. I figured the corner one could be a pigeon tower (PigeonPalace) and the more central one could have 4 glass facades and double doors on the garden side to act as a tearoom overlooking the lake. PS. why not put the logo Steve designed above the entrance door.

Jodi and Scott Barck

I love hearing all the plans but I have to say the hedgehog with the crown is really good and almost there but what about a peacock with a tiara. Not a cartoony peacock a very elegant long necked peacock with a very delicate simple but very beautiful tiara.

Anonymous

Hope you have a relaxing vacation!

I have spent the last week or two catching up on the vlogs and Patreon updates and have loved every minute. For the last year and half I watched every week with out fail, unfortunately my wee mum passed away in May quite suddenly. Thank you Stephanie and your lovely friends and workers for being consistently there and to help me pick up again. Fabulous update as always and that’s me up to date. Xx

Anonymous

I am so happy for you, Stephanie and also proud to be a small part of your dreams coming true!!

Anonymous

I wonder if Steve could do a version of the logo he created that would look more like a coat of arms? Maybe make it a little squarer? Or what about taking something from one of your father’s paintings? Is there a piece of the kitchen tile design that could work? After seeing the plaster bust that was just mended, I’m obsessed with the idea of seeing your father’s work in 3D (or bas-relief).

Anonymous

The peacock from the logo would be perfect for above the front door. Maybe ask Dan's grandad for advice

Anonymous

So happy to see someone had the same idea I had for you shorn wool. I hope to come volunteer sometime and continue with the spinning and dying. BTW yellow onions make a brown dye!

Anonymous

Always excited watching your mob! A question- where does Ian 1 and 2 live? Must be close. What tradesmen! How lucky you are.

Anonymous

Perhaps even some images taken from Stephanie's father's painting in the winter salon because it depicts a gathering of people - a great symbol for La Lande

Anonymous

I think the emblem should have a symbol of friendship as a base. I would personally go with the Native Americans arrows in X as it would allow you to add references to the owners or what draw people to the chateau, but another may speak to you more.

Jason Dubey

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, Stephanie! I am in our art gallery catching up on opening the mail and today's premiere, and was so struck by the footage in the Winter salon, the story about your father, the violinist, and the concert rehersal. As we, your patrons, learn a lot about you through the vlogs, I hope you also learn bits about us as well. Like you, I am also a musician, and have a deep love of classical music, having studied classical piano very seriously for 20 years, passing the California Music Teachers Association Certificate of Merit Advanced Level twice, once while studing abroad in Germany, and again after returning from my exchange. I completely identify with your reaction to the violinist's concert rehersal, as I had goosebumps and was getting a little teary too. As a side note, I am on the Board of Directors for our local Chamber Concert Series called the Music on the Divide (www.musiconthedivide.org) where we bring a variety of world class musicians to our community. In fact, I believe in it so much that I gave them about $10,000 a couple years ago, and was planning to give $20,000 for 2020 but got shut down due to Covid. I host the benefit gala at my B&B, the Historic American River Inn (www.americanriverinn.com) and we put on a silent auction and Caviar Party for 100 guests. Everyone has so much fun! Anyway, cheers to you for doing this. I am so happy to support your efforts as Dauphin of Chateau de Lalande. BRAVO!!

Anonymous

🙋💕💕💕☺️

Anonymous

I thought about the emblem again and got to revisit the wonderful painting of your father's in the winter salon in the Chateau Diaries VLOG of Dan's cooking. The really colourful one with all of the people in it, this would represent La Lande the place of gatherings

Anonymous

Thank you for the lovely update.

Anonymous

I agree on the pair of peacocks, at least as a an image over the door, is more pleasing than a single peacock. Bilateral symmetry (the two peacocks facing each other) is a poised and serene design that would look appropriate in stone.

Anonymous

I'm looking forward to seeing Cortona in your eyes ! Of course I have seen the movie many times , I love it so much ! Julie Montague visited also Cortona in her vlog , but didn't show us much though. I can't wait your vlog from Italy !!!! Thank you for the update , everything is going great forward !

Daniel Hammond

Thank you for the update. I liked the look of those trees. If they won't be smelly, they will be amazing. Thank you for the video!

Stephanie-I Love the staircases for Gerry, Michael and Your mother. and I love the Juliet Balconies (dual) but Like how you might be able to solve by having the different style in the middle with a crest/shield so you have 3 with the middle one being squared looks quite cool. You sure will have fun deciding- and you have such great instinct. good on you so may exciting things happening :)

Anonymous

My goodness there is so much going on, it’s absolutely “Wonderful” as Mummy would say. I’m more partial to a peacock as a carving but the hedgehog is adorable. I’m so happy for Selma. I love how you share so much with us Stephanie, it’s like we are helping in the transformation of this beautiful chateau. The hair looks great by the way 😊🐨👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Stephanie, I just live what you are doing! Everything. I am an avid gardener and artist. It is my dream to come there one day. Go with the peacocks! 2

Anonymous

2 peacocks facing out with the tail feathers downward and crossing ( maybe a little hedgehog between the nexus:)

Anonymous

Wow so much to take in, just loving everything. I think a hedge emblem etc would look great , as long as its tastefully done. A tasteful hedgehog with SJ on the top sounds delightful. Or what about your own family crest Stephanie? You could join your Mother's and Father's family crest? Just a thought? Good luck to Selmar, really hope it works out for them both. So glad Dan is getting his digger, he'll have a big grin for long time to come. Just watch out for the divots.....EVERYWHERE... keep a tight reign until Mummy can get back!!! Lots of love to Mummy and Percy at this most stressful time. Look forward to seeing Scotman, hoorah!! Enjoy Tuscany, but as always watch out for men called Marcello ...wink wink....LOL!!! Great film, very true to life. Stay safe and lots of love to you all xxxx

Cagnae Fetchison

What about using the "CL" logo as a crest? It does have the beautiful peacock and looks very Striking as well as Whimsical!!

Cagnae Fetchison

p.s. I was locked out of my youtube on my laptop for most of the summer and have missed seeing these behind the scenes snips as well as being part of the conversation to restore this Lovely Chateau!!

Anonymous

When are you going to knock down the wall in your office and finish that space?

Anonymous

I feel the peacock emblem is more La Lande, a hedgehog is lovely but linked strongly to Phillip (who I think is lovely btw) . How is Steve getting on with your Dad’s tile designs, I’m so intrigued to see that in place hopefully!

Anonymous

This was a lovely update vlog, Stephanie. You have so many exciting things on the go and I wish you the very best. I think all of your ideas are fabulous! Most of all, I want you to have a lovely holiday in Italy with Philip and the very best of wishes to Selmar 💕

I’m so happy to hear that you got a digger! What fun and exciting projects will open up to you now because of the accessibility of the tool. Not only will it open up options, but it also will help protect the health of your workers. Having the right tool for the job is safer in the long run for them. It’s more common to have injuries when trying to strain physically to complete a job that is a little bit too hard for us, and Lalande is a big girl…. She demands a lot of attention. Having a digger will be very handy for all. :)

Anonymous

Thank you for the update. So many exciting things happening!!

I’ve been watching your videos from the very beginning and they bring me so much joy. Really enjoyed watching all your ideas come to life. It’s amazing how much everything has changed over the last year. :) x

I am so happy that you are getting top notch insulation in the chateau and are trying to preserve any heat loss from roofs, windows, etc. I know it is in part and in time...you are on the right track. Have to say that I am really enjoying these monthly updates as so much is happening and the chateau is really taking on a new look. Salmar, Dan and the Ian's are the best workers ever...they were a real find for you Stephanie....you are truly blessed!! Everything is looking wonderful. Nattie must be very excited about her new apartment starting up again. As always, thank you for all you do and love seeing all the new updates....Thank you and Love from Canada xoxo

Anonymous

Oh how I can’t wait to one day prance in the gardens of la Lande. My love for gardening is stifled by me living in an apartment, but one day I shall have my own. Until then I look on at your beautiful gardens!

Anonymous

Love seeing the update! I think, for the emblem that you could uses a stylized crown with 5 jewels or stars with crossed peacock feathers underneath. The jewels can stand for you and Nick as you are the original owners, one for your mother and father, one for Gerald and one that stands for all that have supported you since. I saw in an earlier comment that the crossed lines stand for friendship so the crossed feathers can stand for friendship also.

Anonymous

Lovely plans. For the stables I think it is a pitty that the balcony interferes with the brick on top if the arches, is it possible to make it higher up?

Anonymous

Keep up the good work Stephanie!

Anna Ibarra

First of all, love Stephanie's dress, it was so pretty and delicate. LIke her. So pleased with Ian's work and progress!!!! He can not retire at all, nope he cannot, till LaLande is done. Sorry Ian, you'll have to just hang in there. LOL Dan got his tool, the digger, a man needs his tools, but in the end, the projects called for Lalande is one that will be needed and used quite a bit. Selmar would use it also, and he may be more creative and etc.. Men needs their tools like women need their shoes. LOL So happy for Selmar. What a great update vlog this was. I am sooooooooo happy to hear these updates. Oh my gosh, Stephanie can never do the 7 min vlogs, nope, we need more, more, in fact feel free to do 1 hour vlogs please. LOL I know being too selfish here. Ok bye!

Anna Ibarra

You know, for the reason of privacy, shade and esthetic of the french, I think it will look beautiful. I also was worried that it would hide much of the beautiful facade of LaLande when you drive up. I think of how they did Isabel & Percy's wedding and part was in the front. It was beautiful. But change is also good.

Anonymous

Well done

Anonymous

So excited to see the plans come to life; everything looks great. So glad that Gerry and Amery will be arriving soon too!

Have an idea for the front emblem. A three spilt crest with a peacock wearing a tiara on one full half and then the other half split with the Union Jack and fleurdelis, at the top of the crest you could have some woodland animals, frog, hedgehog, deer etc

I am definitely partial to a Peacock for the la Lande emblem! Thor is iconic and the beautiful logo Steve designed just cements Peacocks and la Lande in my brain.

Anonymous

The hedgehog was adorable :) Very happy for Selmar - have lots of fun in Tuscany. Back in the day my class went there as our last trip together and I loved every second of it. Florence and the Cinque Terre were eye-opening to eighteen year old me. Have a wondeful trip!

Anonymous

Lol. I thought of that exact same line when she mentioned Tuscany

Anonymous

to capture the spirit of the chateau, the crest or emblem could do with a text vitae risus et caritatem latin for: live love and laughter ;) although in French sounds also wonderful: la vie, l'amour et le rire

Anonymous

Well done all x

How about an image from Derek Jarvis's work?

Dan Ruggiero

great revue! I appreciate more and more the thoughtfulness and analytics that are behind your decision making. and, with the new digger, you will be able to excavate more of the stone that is in the stable courtyard and perhaps do something with it as a garden feature.

Dan Ruggiero

Question. what happened to Davey's idea of a more important surround for the main door. perhaps a combo of stone balcony over a small, collumned entry?

Anonymous

I could power a small village when I get mine done! Lovely post!

Anonymous

Love everything. You guys are all so wonderful.

Anonymous

All looks wonderful! I am wondering why they put the spiral staircase in front for Nati's Glass (?) doors. Thank you for the update!

Anonymous

I absolutely support the emergency exits of the stairs but if someone is in a rush, spiral could be very dangerous especially as they are not full stairs. I know you like this but especially for Scotman, Mummy's, and Percy's safety, I would encourage you to reconsider.

Anonymous

Do you have any information in the repair and filling the lake from the French government or the water police department?

Anonymous

Great idea Melissa I was just thinking the same 😊💕👍

Anonymous

I definitely vote on a lovely peacock for the stone work over the front door or maybe a unicorn or something floral. Maybe even an element from Stephanie's father's paintings!
