I was just wishing for this, as I just exactly finished the vlog from Le Mans 😂

Anonymous

Philip is so sweet, but heavy breathing on your vlog is totally unacceptable 😉😂❤️

Anonymous

Woo hoo!

Anonymous

Hi Steph loved this! Would it be possible to interview Davey for a Patreon video pretty please? He is such an interesting gentleman, would love to hear more about him xx

Anonymous

Thanks Stephanie for sharing your beautiful treasures with us! They’re great finds and amazing prices. Phillip enjoy your visit with your friend. Stay healthy and safe. 💕and Virtual hugs 🤗

Anonymous

Thais for sharing! Love all the acquisitions! You are on point!! The pieces will give the chateau the collected thru the years look you are going for. So happy it’s all coming together!

Anonymous

Ohhhhhh wow I so enjoyed seeing all the treasures! Thank you so much! 😊💜🇨🇦

Georgette Jones

Good choices and great ideas……👍

Beautiful ❤️

Stephanie, in regards to how the Patreon money is spent, I would have thought, that some of it could also go towards furnishings, chandeliers, etc - still being seen as part of the restoration, if the items where to remain part of the estate in future? I don't suggest, that Patreon funds should pay for everything, but perhaps for a few specific key pieces, that would "belong" to the rooms, it could be possible? Like fx the Trumeau mirrors, curtains, Chandeliers, wall lighting, etc? Just because, the restoration of a Chateau, to me at least, is more than bricks, plaster and lawns 😊

Anonymous

Wonderful finds Stephanie & Philip. LOOOOOOVE your dress Stephanie! Thanks for sharing!!!

Noreen Kelly

the portrait looks like Kat..

Anonymous

I loved everything, Stephanie! ❤️

Kirsty Wyatt

Hi Stephanie, I really love the education you provide your viewers. This is exactly the stuff I love and I also love the way you pick a piece of furniture/decor - it’s specific and heartfelt. I would really enjoy seeing more informative videos (alongside what you’re already doing). We really do appreciate the effort you put in to providing your Patreon’s with quality viewing material. I agree with Rasmus; I believe that some of the Patreon money should be placed aside as a budget each month in order for you to source furniture/decor. It’s all well and good to renovate a chateau, but in order for it to stand in all its’ glory it also needs some spectacular interior design to show it off to it’s maximum potential. Love your work, Kirsty

Anonymous

Just stunning!!!!! Every single item is just beautiful!!!! Well, until we got to the dressing table chairs, sorry Stephanie I’m with Phillip on those. Lol So glad that our support means the YouTube revenue is freed up to buy these stunning items, I do hope you repeat you statement about what monies are spent on what areas in a normal vlog, so the non patreons can understand what they are also contributing towards….. At this rate there will have to be a name change to LE GRANDE PALAIS of LALANDE

Anonymous

Beautiful antiques it will look georgious in the grand salon

Anonymous

Beautiful finds xx you both have exquisite taste xx thank you for takng us along on your journey to restore your wonderful Chateau back to its former glory xx love your vlogs xx🥰🏰🥰🏰😘

Anonymous

Thank you for showing your great finds! They’re beautiful pieces and you have such a sense of style. Stephanie or if anyone knows what they are - could you give us a little background on the two Christmas tree shaped things on each side of the mantle in the Grande Salon? I’ve been curious about them ever since I saw them when I first started watching!

Anonymous

Agree with you, but I guess it all depends on the wording of the charitable status and legally they aren’t part of the fabric of the building?

Anonymous

Stephanie, your home is just a fairytale 🧚🏻‍♂️

Anonymous

Love your style Stephanie

Jason Dubey

Hi Stephanie, I finally figured out how to log back into Patreon and bump up to Dauphin. I can not believe you had a flood too! I don't know if you saw my comment about the flood at my historic property last Friday which ruined the ceiling in my master suite and the lid of my Parlor Grand Piano. It is uncanny how our two houses have so much in common. Looking forward to visiting in October! Have a great day!

Anonymous

Stephanie, did you get anywhere with the plan to commemorate Patreon’s/YouTube for helping in the chateau restoration in some way- maybe a statue or garden feature or folley. Would be an amazing addition to la lande and its surroundings

Anonymous

I am surprised that the Patreon money cannot go towards furnishings. I, for one, would have no issue with that at all. Antique pieces such as these are not only invaluable for their history the represent an investment as they tend to hold value quite well. I wonder if the furniture, or the key antique pieces, could somehow be entailed to the Chateau such that they form part of the estate. Unless the specific wording of the charitable status precludes all furniture pieces I think it would be a real shame to miss out on potentially dazzling pieces befitting a chateau like Lalande simply because they’re properly priced outside the budget. Either way, much love from Canada!

Anonymous

To see the pattern of the fabric block, take a piece of paper and rub a crayon on top to make an impression 🥰

Leah Hamdaoui

Dear Stephanie, and dear Phillip, thank you for sharing your antique acquisitions with us... I just LOVE seeing all the treasures you both find. The portrait is exceptional and the hand gesture recalls those used by the Italian painter Agnolo Bronzino and the blouse has a very Tizianoesque quality... I would not be surprised if this portrait was by an 18th century Northern Italian painter. You are the best XXX

Anonymous

We have to persuade Stephanie to use this as an intro to one of her vlogs…. https://youtu.be/ZFpaebgHiI4

Anonymous

Gorgeous things! Love the painting 😊

Anonymous

Love it all and I really enjoy the information you give about everything. I’ve learned so much and get a lot of inspiration. Thanks !

Mervielleuse!

Anonymous

I am constantly stunned by the amazing prices of the antique pieces in France. The yellow chairs are just gorgeous and I fell in love with the painting, she is beautiful.

Anonymous

No advice on what is being done about the burst pipes? Surely a plan to mitigate against more floods before spending funds on furniture and decoration of the grand salon. I worry that there are going to be more leaks from the radiators in future unless a full inspection is made and an inventory taken of essential maintenance work required.

Anonymous

All your purchases are perfect and beautiful. What fun that must have been!

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie, Do you inventory your antiques and keep them on a spreadsheet or something like that? Not just your antiques but your other items too?

Anonymous

When Philip and Anna come to visit, she can show you how to print fabric and or wallpaper;)

Denise Behrends

Your décor-themed videos are always fabulous. It’s intriguing to hear your thought process as you consider decisions regarding where to place each of your curated antique treasures throughout the chateau. I admire your composure when unexpected maintenance issues arise. You always find a way to handle it with your usual chatelaine aplomb.

Anonymous

Lovely vid, S. That portrait really is delightful. 🥂

Anonymous

The pair of chairs you identified as Empire are more Directoire, a mon avis. "Directoire diamonds" I call them, as the diamond shape was used a great deal during that period. The back splat area is a take on the Klismos chair. The other upholstered chairs you got with the square back are also Directoire style. You both did very well; nice choices of French pieces in styles over a 100 year period. The pair of valances are called a "half tester" and the top would be upholstered in a gathered fabric with a choux in the center, with draperies on the sides. If you use them over the paintings, it would be fine to leave the paintings framed. Any time you need something identified, please feel free to ask me. My specialty is FFF (fine French furniture) and interiors and I've studied and collected it over many years.

Anonymous

Thank you, Stephanie! This was a lovely and very informative video and it's so great to see all your treasures and know how you plan to use them! Teresa

Anonymous

I really loved all the furniture you bought.

Anonymous

More great purchases! And thanks for keeping it real: leaks are something many of us have endured and even in your fairytale home, you endure them too!

Anonymous

Wow your beautiful painting looks like a grey haired Nati! They have the same lovely smile, beautiful eyes and cheeks! Love her 😍

Anonymous

Dearest Stephanie, and Phillip, You leave me speechless with all of your Vlogs. They melt my heart. I feel so much joy and privileged to be seeing everything you do and buy, and all of your trips and adventures I can't put it into words to express what I feel. Thank you so very much.

Anonymous

what great purchases! Love the vlog!

Anonymous

You two are a shopping dream team! Very thoughtful and lovely purchases. But seeing the flood in the Grand Salon has me deeply worried. Imagine if it had flooded onto all the paneling as it acclimatized to its new home, or onto a piano, or ruined one of your father's paintings? Please spend some Patreon money finding an urgent and good solution to the ongoing radiator issues. Any upgrades and repairs and new equipment will be worth it to preserve the investments you (and your audiences) have made :) The two little chairs are so interesting - they match the diamond shapes we have seen in some very old parts of Lalande, and at a few of the other chateaus you have visited. These diamonds are a very dynamic decorative shape - drawing the eye to things, or making spaces appear wider. I'm glad you got those chairs.

Anonymous

Would be SO fun to see a zoom interview with you and Stephanie where you could clear up mysteries. Would also dovetail nicely with having a database of all the furnishings - with so many rooms, it would be easy to lose track of how/when/why/how much something was purchased for. Such a database would also help keep track of detailed repairs and a maintenance schedule for cleaning. Someday Stephanie may find herself handing over the running of the place to someone without her remarkable ability to remember everything. And a database would also help with insurance.

Anonymous

Love all the purchases, both yours and Phillip’s. Especially the little chairs, your Chateau (along with The Boys) so do keep buying what calls out to you!

Anonymous

Oh Stephanie, I gasped out loud at the footage of the leak! This just happened to my house 6 months ago. And your beautiful ceiling had just been repaired and painted. I'm so sorry. Old homes can be a equally joyous and maddening. Like most serious relationships. lol.

Anonymous

Love both your taste...wish I could join you shopping, too. Have fun as always and GOD BLESS

Anonymous

💖🙋‍♀️😊💐💐💐

Anonymous

Lovely finds!

Anonymous

Such beautiful purchases EXCEPT Philip’s bloody squirrel😂

Anonymous

I love everything you both bought. Absolutely beautiful! Well, except the poor stuffed squirrel. I know it was a gift…😕 I hope we can meet Philips friend and wishing safe travels to them. Cheers! 🐿

Anonymous

I love all the furniture!! Philip is such a great shopping buddy :) Also, I think those two chairs Philip didn't like are gorgeous.

Anonymous

Stephanie and Phillip you have a fantastic eye for great furniture the pieces you brought are beautiful it was so arfull about your radiator leak I hope it is all repaired now

Daniel Hammond

If only I lived in France! Glorious treasures. Thank you for the video.

Anonymous

Just adore your very informative vlogs……educational, entertaining, you name it. As soon as I saw the two pieces you said you had no idea what they were for, I immediately spoke to my iPad and said ‘they could be used for bed crowns’ next minute you said that Phillip had an idea….I nearl y fell

Anonymous

…..as I was saying I nearly fell off my seat!…..thank you both and thanks to Darth Vader too!

Gabrielle Baalke

Truly so thoughtful of Philip to add one of his woodland creatures to your editing space! It adds a certain prestige to the place, I think. Very generous. Good work, Philip!

Anonymous

Perfect purchases. Yay… I’m so excited for you

Anonymous

I agree with you Stephanie the empire chairs are lovely.

Anonymous

Wonderful finds!

thechateaudiaries

My parents bought them decades ago in the Harrods Sale! They're made of pine cones and are technically Christmas decorations. They won't survive the redecoration, but will be kept and used every Christmas!

thechateaudiaries

Thank you so much! I'm sorry to hear about your flood, your poor piano! I hope you can find a good restorer. We got quite lucky this time, the white sofa took the brunt of it, and wasn't a very special fabric. It could do with reupholstery one day - but it looks as though we've managed to save it for a bit longer

thechateaudiaries

Because the chateau is also my private home and my business, and because furniture could be moved to other places, it's too much of a grey area. But please don't worry, because I'm very happy to use the ad revenue to buy beautiful antiques that I can share with you all on here and at Lalande

thechateaudiaries

They've already been repaired. But the problem is our old radiators which need replacing as they're rusting through one after the other! Before installing the panelling into the grand salon, all of the radiators in the rooms above will be replaced.

thechateaudiaries

Yes, I absolutely agree. The radiators in the rooms above the grand salon will all be replaced before the panelling is installed - it would have been catastrophic!

thechateaudiaries

It's a good idea, I'll speak to Dan about it (though I just approved his request for a mini digger, so the robot mower might have to wait a couple more months!)

Anonymous

The painting is stunning! I really, really love her no matter her age. Her presence is so engaging. Glad to see the thought of Henri make another appearance. Wave him a Hello from me. Great purchases by Phillip too. And it seems Phillip and his woodland menagerie are planning a silent take over of La Lande... but hold your ground dear Stephanie. Even though he has his own contingent of supporters willing to generously contribute to his campaign of woodsy minions, many of us will hold the line with you Stephanie! It's the eyes that get me. LOL!

Anonymous

I'm getting such an education since subbing to Stephanie's vlogs.

Anonymous

Loved everything!

Anonymous

Philip, Nicolas Fouquets (squirrel) coat of arms has a squirrel ! We all know he was a very great mind !!!! Philip Fouquet ,keep the finance of the chateau in order! fabulous finds you made, I love brocantes!

Anonymous

So distracted by the moving curtain in the grand salon and then it was still 👻 I had to rewind to listen again to what Stephanie was saying about the leak 🤦‍♀️

Anonymous

I love everything !!! Thank you for sharing this with us, you continue to inspire me !

Anonymous

Your new purchases are lovely. A home needs to be layered with beautiful things and these new chairs will give you years of pleasure and comfort.

Anonymous

Your chair makers' father was a Compagnon de devoir? Or is there a different group called compagnons de France? Thank you for more transparency on the use of Patreon funds. Is there a fund set aside for lake restoration, which was the restoration you founded your fundraising on? Davy mentions the lake restoration in passing in the garden plan. But I think your patrons would be reassured if you and he produced a lake restoration plan with costs and deadlines. Also, terrace restoration and expansion seems to be at the heart of Davy's garden plan. Will this be prioritized? What's the status of the architect's negotiations with the old masonry restorers who failed to execute to standards she approves? Will performance punchlists be established and negotiated for future resto of terrace? With thanks.

Anonymous

Once the rooms air on British tv it would be super fab to have another tour of the property to see how much has been done and next furniture in place and to really see how far that chateau has come in just a year Also happy early congratulations on hitting 150k subs!!!!!

Anonymous

200 € for these excellent yellow chairs - thats incredibly cheap !

Anonymous

Woww, you’re on 35.175 million views. Wasn’t that long ago that it was 30 million. I’ve watched all of them and still go back and watch them again. Congratulations! You have dedicated so much energy to this and I’m delighted it’s helping you, to do what you do.👍❤️

Anonymous

Hi Stephanie. Love the furniture but especially the painting. I think you should dress up your mother as Diana, hair up, leopard skin fabric and haveMichael Potts take her photo. And all you girls! Keep on the lookout for a bow.

Anonymous

Oh thank you so much for sharing this with us, Steph! I love seeing where you place the items you purchase within the Chateau even if it might not be the permanent places for them. You and Philip have such good eyes for items that it is such fun going shopping with you. You must understand that I live vicariously through you! Lots f love to you!

Anonymous

For me restoring the interior is just as important as the exterior and structure of the chateau. A chateau with IKEA furniture isn't the same as lots of antiques. But I understand why others might not think the same. I love all the pieces you two bought.

Anonymous

The lake is complicated.Stephine did explain it.There water police and historic fixtures are in conversation, about how it can be restored. As far as I'm aware.

Anonymous

Everything is stunning, Stephanie. You and Philip did an amazing job with your purchases. I also liked the pair of 1930's chairs. I much prefer Art Nouveau over Deco, but they are beautiful. I saw a documentary on Alphonse Mucha recently. His work was extraordinary. Thank you for sharing your beautiful treasures with us. Sending you both a big hug and lots of love. <3

Anonymous

Stephanie, I've never missed a minute of footage from the very beginning. But I just can't bring myself to read all of the thousands of comments. So you may have answered this question I've asked before. Please tell us where your dressing room will be moved to. I've studied and studied the plans and just can't figure it out!

Anonymous

I’m flabbergasted at all of your & Philip’s fabulous finds!!🙀 I look forward to seeing them next week when I visit💕💕💕

Anonymous

I was wondering that too. I was thinking she could breakthrough her bathroom to take over some of Nick's former bedroom/bath (I think the back wall of her bathroom is the wall of the bathroom of Nick's old bathroom?). Then turn the remaining space of that old bedroom into Nati's and/or Phillip's office.

Anonymous

🥰That beautiful golden yellow color of the new chairs would be a lovely color for your bedspread or for the reverse side as a contrast or even for the headboard.😍

Anonymous

Such fun! Thanks for sharing this Steph!

Anonymous

Thanks for sharing the beautiful treasures. The golden yellow chairs are especially lovely. You and Phillip are a terrific shopping team! Both of you have excellent taste and vision for the final look. Furniture is so much more fun than a digger, although Dan might not agree! It is so exciting seeing the progress of various projects. Love to all.

Anonymous

I Love everything, besides the squirrel, sorry Philip😜

Anonymous

I love the lady in the painting. She looks like she could be our friend. Love the squirrel. First taxidermy that looks friendly. Maybe it was a family pet. I like the idea of bed crowns of the 2 matching frames and specifically for that room. So sorry you have leaks, what can you do, it is an old chateau. Philip I love that chair you got!

Anne Green

Another fantastic & Soooo interesting video Stephanie 💕 & As a lover of the history of interiors too what a truly captivating history lesson 🤗 xx

Anonymous

I think the portrait lady's eyes sparkle with beauty and a hint of mischief. Perhaps a bit like Cat?

Anonymous

Personally, I wouldn’t care if you used Patron money for anything having to do with care and feeding of the Chateau. Interior, exterior, salaries, whatever. What good is restoring a Chateau if you can’t live in it?

Anonymous

Beautiful Finds. The mirror is stunning! I love your enthusiasm as you talk about them.

Anonymous

Just love your bedroom chairs - I’m green with envy…thank you for sharing those amazing purchases. I personally would have no issue with you purchasing antiques for the Chateau with your NFP monies as they go to return the Chateau to its former beauty but maybe that’s a legal requirement in France. It’s so exciting watching the changes happening inside and outside the Chateau and I congratulate you for managing to turn lemons into champagne - COVID has challenged the whole world to find inner and community strength and you have managed to not only grow your online presence but to support your team and this community. Hopefully you are also taking time to be kind to yourself. 🇦🇺💐💕

Anonymous

Gosh, whats to not love in that! Hugh sigh. Thank you.

Anonymous

I love the two little chairs...

Anonymous

So enjoyed this video! You both have such great taste - and I’m with you Stephanie, those 1930’s chairs are gorgeous💕

Anonymous

Beautiful thank you 😘💕

Anonymous

Stephanie I truly love your inability to get flustered or upset by anything. Oh my the flood through your beautiful ceiling would have truly upset me but you take it all so calmly! What a gift you have 🌸

Theresa Romero

I wonder if the stamp could also be used for wall paper? I can visualize your bedroom with gold stamped, intricate patterned wallpaper, such as the pattern on the fabric stamp. You should only need to remove the varnish from the stamping surface, I’d imagine.

Theresa Romero

The bed crowns and curtains will add just the extra touch of glamour that is called for, in that room!

Anonymous

very nice finds and beautiful, beautiful painting!

Anonymous

Can we go to Isle sir la Sortie someday? I spent many happy times there. I am sure you have been? I love all of the vacations we go on with you and Phillip and the rest of your crew. You come up with such fabulous finds.

Anonymous

Loving all of the renovations that are happening at the chateau!! Just curious, I know that you had talked about updating some of the kitchen. Is that still in the works?

Anonymous

Want to tell you that I’m now totally enmeshed in the de Lalande family vlogs and the Pethericks clan plus Ryan family from manor house to Bordeau, and also the male couple, parents and nephew. While I can’t wait for the pandemic to end for lots of reasons, it won’t be the end of my addiction to UK expats in France. All of you are part of my daily routine. Thank you so much for sharing.

Anonymous

Love you and Philip shopping.

Anonymous

Great team!

Tina Winther

Great finds, you two. My fave bit was glimpsing both chandeliers in the mirror. Bummer about the leak!! From What I could see the striped velvet upholstery looked pretty cool as is. Love the dress you’re wearing, Stephanie! And how wonderful that Philip can welcome his friend including the requisite quarantining. That’s a can-do attitude!

Anonymous

Im curious to ask why dont you pay for the antiques from the patreon account Stephanie. I would have thought they ARE for the chateau. another great update- thank you x

Anonymous

I also like those 1930's Egyptian chairs, Stephanie. They are very sculptural and the seats look comfy. I think they fit in well with the other furniture

Anonymous

I love all of your purchases! It’s so exciting to see all the pieces that will one day come together and make Lalande even grander looking 💛

Sissi Duparc

Do not allow Gerald approach your egyptian chairs with any banana, hahaha !

Anonymous

Hello Stephanie and Phillip

Anonymous

i am just watching cadeau and noticed the 4 things Phillip received from Eugene. They are collar stays, they clip on each side of a shirt collar and are worn under the tie. If you need more information about esoterica men article I suggest you wat Gentleman‘a Gazette. It is a very good YouTube channel for fashionable men.

Anonymous

What a joy it is to see the treasures that both you and Phillip have found!!

Sissi Duparc

Dear stephanie, I've seen this peacock wallpaper on internet, anf of course, it makes me think of La Lande ! ;-) https://muralconcept.fr/collections/meilleures-ventes/products/papier-peint-panoramique-peacock-bleu-paon-floral?variant=31688342700074

Anonymous

Apologies if I missed it, but what was the name of the antique fair you visited? Lovely finds! Loved the episode! x

Saba Atabaki

Hi Stephanie, Can you please spotlight your fans and supporters who also have patreon accounts for their small businesses and ventures? I have twi patreon accounts and with your help I could build my businesses. Through your help people could find my accounts and support me like they and I have supported you. Please think about it. My accounts are: https://www.patreon.com/letterstonone and https://www.patreon.com/coffeetablebooks Lots of love,

Anonymous

I don’t think Stephanie replies here to patrons any more?😔

Anonymous

I am new here and I am absolutely enthralled with all things at the chateau. I even caught myself looking for Louis XV Cane Chairs for my own bedroom after watching. How lucky you are to be able to go to such amazing fairs and markets in France to shop. I guess I will have to scour EBay to have any luck. Thank you so much for all the info and history. I hope one day to visit the chateau in person.

Anonymous

I looove the portrait of Diana! Also Philip’s chair is incredibly pretty! I find it kind of remarkable how low the prices of some antiques are in France, like in Canada I could maybe buy an old antique broom for 150$ haha 🙃

Anonymous

Have fun in Italy! Safe travels! Everything looks beautiful! The Chateau will be even more so as work continues! Have you thought that perhaps Steve could create something for the crest? He did such a beautiful job for the logo.

Jodi and Scott Barck

I really love The Huntress painting. In my head she was a quiet well mannered woman of her time and being the huntress in the painting gave her a bit of frivolity that was not allowed to show. The look in her eyes shows the inner her. She is really enjoying being sometime else. As a modern woman I image she would have opened an art gallery or runs a museum where she is around beautiful things, her own boss and in charge. Am I the only one who sees stories in paintings of people? 🤣

Anonymous

I so enjoyed this! It's lovely to see the antiques in detail and get to know more about them!

Anonymous

Such exciting news! If you end up being able to go elsewhere in the US while you are there please let us know! We'd love to (safely and with caution) welcome you! I can recommend Aruba as your quarantine trip- they are offering a one perfect staycation visa which should fit perfectly with what you need, the airbnb's are gorgeous, and there is a direct flight to New York.

Anonymous

Oh my should we be worried people will be staying in the loo far too long? It is gorgeous and rather like being on vacation. This vlog is so exciting! Spend the money wherever you wish, you have phenomenal taste.
