Wow everyone, calm down... do you really think it would be possible and fun to have 2,527 people live at the same time on a zoom call? And we'll have access to the video after so we're not even missing a thing. This is how it works when you register, you have different degree of patronage with different perks for each.... Anyway, I'm excited to see the video, I can't wait to see Cat again yay! :)

I know the higher paying Patrons as a group must contribute the largest amount ( I assume ) but I would be interested to know the ball park figure as to what us lowly Lords and Ladies contribute as a group 🤔. Look forward to the recording later ☺️.

Not necessarily. There are 2,527 Patrons contributing $24,074 per month with I would say based on the small percentage of high tier Patrons gives the majority of overall contributions to the $5 to $10 dollar range Patrons.

I do appreciate some feeling "left out" - it is a very potentially triggering of old feelings situation - i think nearly all of us have felt that at some point in our lives (more than once) And for me only last week i was looking again at the different Tiers available here in Lalande Patron land and noticing that we are ALL allowed access to ALL the videos which in my knowledge of many other Patreon creators quite unusual. I thought it was a creative way to give an opportunity to the higher levels (with manageable numbers - i have done large zooms ) and we will get to see Cat et al soon That so old adage of "you cant please all the people all the time" comes to mind And yes right now some of us might be feeling shut out - but the door will open soon and we can go play again Love to you all Feelings can be tough at times And THANK YOU lovely Lalanders for continuing to bring me such great JOY and lightness xx

It’s clear on the Patreon page that there are levels, and being n a higher level gets you more access- that’s normal. Everyone gets to view it just like every other video. Look at it this way- without a camera on I can put on my pajamas early and break out the wine!

Hi Stephanie. I have no complaints about the video chat being restricted! You cannot have such a huge number in one chat. It would not be a nightmare, it would be impossible! And people paying the extra - I would myself if I had the money - really should receive something extra. After all, the people who cannot afford the patreon fee even at the lower level may feel left out because they cannot access these videos. That is life, not just patreon! Thank you for all the amazing content you post. It is appreciated.

I agree that it is fair for higher levels of patronage to get more perks - that's the way it has always been on this patreon account (just read through the different levels of perks for each payment level), this is just a new perk being explored. I didn't get to be part of the live zoom, but we'll all get to see the video soon regardless. I can understand people wishing they could take part, but to express that so negatively is not constructive. After all, there are lots of people who can't afford to be a patron at all, and probably envy all of us for having access to these videos! I applaud Stephanie and the team for being so creative in their ways to reward our patronage, and look forward to watching the recorded video later.

Looking forward to the chat! Pleased that those who contribute more are recognized with more access. And even happier to know that you will share with all tiers after!! Thank you for all the great content - so so appreciated!! I once attended a Zoom panel hosted by the UN on human rights as a passive viewer. There were more than 3k viewers! Non-participants without speaking / video access could watch the conversation live while the panel chatted. There was even a link we could post questions and poll vote on topics. I wonder if the same would be possible with a panel of Lalanders connecting from wherever they are? Xx

Hello Ramon. Thank you for your reply. I’ve just re-checked Stephanie’s tier benefits. You are mistaken on this one I’m afraid. Private chats are not mentioned in any of Stephanie’s tier benefits, so neither is there any mention of the less affluent contributors being excluded from them.

Hello Joanna - I think you raise some excellent points. I believe all Patrons understand and have no issues with different membership tiers unlocking different benefits. It seems to me the hard feelings among some here stem from a lack of explanation. Perhaps if Stephanie had stated the Zoom call was a new benefit for the top tiers it would have been seen as less of a slight. Most disagreements are born from misunderstanding and I think that's what happened here.

Have fun!! It is pretty clear with Patreon that there are different tiers and you get more when you pay more. No worries, you provide a lot of fun for my measly $5 a month. ;) Don't be discouraged by the people who feel they need it all. You made it clear that this was always for the upper tiers. :)

Yes, agree with others, I am fine to watch it later and that be something special for the higher teirs. I think we are very lucky to get what we do from you! I view it like non patreons vs patreons. Non only have access to YouTube public videos, ig, fb, and as patreons we then have access to the private videos, if I only pay $5 or $10 or whatever a month and not in the top tiers I get that I may not have access to it all. That is apart of fundraising, it's not just unique to this website. In fundraising your higher donors get more access or publicity etc. So ignore the ones who are frustrated. I can't wait to watch it later and think you are very generous with what you give to us all! Much love

Hi Stephanie: I am looking forward to the video, and seeing Cat!! Just to add my two cents... obviously, it is normal on Patreon to include more perks for higher tiers, but in the future, to avoid hurt feelings and complaints, I would list Zoom chats in the top tier descriptions, and then not post them for the rest of us to watch. For a lot of people it might feel like flaunting a party they weren’t invited to. For me, it’s fine!! I am not hurt by it in the least.. LOL.... but it makes more sense, with regard to being fair and straight forward and professional, to list the Zoom feature upfront on the descriptions for the top tiers, and then leave it as a private experience for those tiers. I am just happy to have all of you chateau lovers to feel connected to and I hope to meet many of you at a Patreon La Lande visit one day!. Stephanie, how nice that you got the zoom call going so soon after you mentioned it in a recent Patreon vid! I'm happy those who are supporting at a higher tier are getting a little bonus and think it's so thoughtful for you to eventually share the recording with the rest of us Patreon subscribers. (It may help you from repeating Q&A that you would have shared anyhow and keep us all informed. ) We can't wait to see the recording and nice to see Cat is on it! We miss her! I understand both sides. I can't afford to pay more but would love the opportunity to chat with everyone. I agree if only those at the top tier are a part of this it may be better not to share because it makes people feel left out. Maybe keep those private for those people and if you do zoom calls with Cat and other former Lalanders you could share those with everyone. Wish I could give more because I so appreciate the videos you've shared. Helps me through the rough times. ❤

Completely agree. I think it's exactly that...feeling like watching a party you weren't invited to. More specifically not invited because of not having enough money. In a time when some are going through extremely hard times it seemed a bit hurtful. I know it was not intentional at all though. So appreciative of everything Stephanie shares!

They do one or two projects a year for ETTC DIY. I assume they use the same mix of personal money, YouTube money, and Patreon money that they have always used to renovate the chateau! Stephanie did say that she would not use things that are “awards” for patrons in ETTC DIY, because then we would not be able to see them until they air. I think she is now keeping ETTC DIY totally separate from Patreon, aside from the fact that some of this money does go towards those renovations.

So many feelings...?!?! I wonder if in the future, and if this call worked well and was fun, there might be future group zoom calls available for each tier to participate at some point. Then, everyone would have a chance to be involved, no matter their contribution as patrons. Just a thought. I don't have a horse in this race as, in my real life (as compared to my Lalande fantasy life) I have far too many zooms to coordinate without adding even one more.

I think the confusion was the excitement when I read in my inbox a Patreon announcement zoom call starting for patrons only - excitedly logged on with cup of tea in hand ready to settle down to this treat to then find out it was not for all patrons but only the top tier patrons. Hence confusion and disappointment. Not a complaint. Just explaining my experience.

I just like to know I’m contributing to the renovation of a beautiful chateau, however big or small that amount may be. I’m not sure , if I was Stephanie, I would go too far down the road of special treats for higher tiers ( no that’s not sour grapes from me ). If I was a higher tier patron, which I may be one day, I personally would not expect more in return than I get now, my joy comes from giving. I loved watching the chat with Davey for example, that was worth its weight in gold 👍. It’s fair enough to offer a sliding scale of discounts on the cost of a stay at Laland , for example , I think that’s a fair thing, but I don’t feel the need for exclusivity amongst the higher tiers.

I could pay more each month but I don't want to. I could send presents but Cadeaux at the Chateau is something that doesn't do it for me. Thankfully I have the choice not to watch. Wise decision giving it it's own channel. I'm on the lowest tier but for me this is going to be a lifetime commitment or for so long as Stephanie wants this to go on for. It's great to be a very small part of such a big effort that includes so many small contributors like me. For me that is the appeal. Many people giving small amounts to make big things happen. I can understand why people on lower tiers feel excluded - maybe it's a better idea to give the higher tier contributors perks that the rest of us don't need to see. I'm happy just seeing the YT videos and the Patreon progress videos. I'm sure Stephanie will do whatever she can to steady our Patreon ship. Our destination is the restoration of Lalande, and that is a worthwhile journey.

I can understand why some feel excluded or disappointed by this. Stephanie did explain in her last week's patron video that this was a suggestion from a conversation with Cat. She had done something similar in her choir role. I believe it was considered to open it up to us all but there was realisation that it was not practicable due to numbers and previous issues there had been when trying to do a live broadcast - wasn't a patron then but understand some of you were left looking a mummy's ceiling for a long time. It- the zoom meeting happened so quickly after it was raised last week. The way the consultation with the higher tier members re this was shown on the site was not tactful. In that certain ally on mine it showed a line of text then pay £42.50 to access. But I put that down to the limitations of the site not Stephanie. On reflection it may also have been better to hold the zoom meeting on a different night and post something for us all on our regular night. Still we live and learn.

I have no problem with the higher tiers getting extra perks,but feel it should not replace the regular Patreon update,by doing that it made me feel left out,after watching the Chateau Dairies for awhile now in no way was this a slight to the rest of us,just an unfortunate misstep.

I can see where this ZOOM chat has now caused a bit of a DIVIDE from the higher up tier to the lesser tier patreons, even though it will be available to all later. Maybe in the future if possible only notify the higher tier of their special so the others don't feel hurt or excluded? I'm sure not the intentions of Stephanie hurting anyone's feeling changes will now probably be made.

I am happy that there are extra perks for higher tier patrons. It gives an insentive for people to give more towards the chateau renovations. I get that my $10 a month won't have the same insentives as a patron with higher level donations. It's just the way patreon works. If I was giving $100 a month, I would probably expect more perks than someone who gave less.

I know personally I'm a patreon of Stephanie mostly because I want to support her and the work she is doing with the chateau and the joy in community that she is building there. The content is a nice perk, but even without it, I enjoy the show and would rather give my money to Stephanie than some TV network. I understand some may be hurt, but if you watch the show I think we can all agree Stephanie would never intentionally do something that made any of us feel upset. There's a learning curve here for her with YouTube and Patreon and supporting her through that with patience is something I'm happy to do. I'm looking forward to the video and happy to virtually hear from other Patreons who are supporting Stephanie and LaLonde! I think us connecting more with each other is a great idea! :)

As Bethany mentioned there is a learning curve and I for one am more than happy to support her through it. I believe all the Patrons here clearly understand the distinction of the various tier memberships. The bottom line here is that ALL patrons are accustomed to receiving the basic minimum of shared videos on Patreon while higher tier members receive additional perks in other areas. But the rankle comes when the announcement states: "INSTEAD OF a Patreon video tonight we’re hosting a Zoom call for the Marquis and Dauphines". In other words, the Marquis and Dauphines are getting exclusive access to content that was otherwise made available to all of us. INSTEAD OF - which implies at our (lower tiers) expense. It's exclusive and elitist in a way that leaves the rest of us feeling marginalized rather than supporting the sense of inclusion and fellowship we have previously enjoyed. I'm content to stay in my lane but don't appreciate being told to get to the back of my own queue for someone with deeper pockets. Unfortunate.

Aside from WISHING I could become a Patreon at that level, I was not offended by this at all. If you ARE donating that much per month, it SHOULD come with extra "perks"!! The marquis and dauphines of Lalande do contribute the most and have the most impact. Stephanie, not offended at all. I am the lowest of the tier at $5 a month because I just love the videos. The nice cards you send are an added a bonus. This whole thing is a bunch of Malarkey. Seriously people...La Lande could have left all of the lower tiers out, not announced it and not offered to share. Instead they are choosing to be upfront and honest and share with all. If in the world of the future we can figure out how to have a successful call with even half it would be amazing. There are so many more important things going on in the world to worry about inclusion. Stephanie and her house mates share far more of their life and time then they need to. Wait, why all the negativity? We all come together if and when we can, to support and help in the best way we can. Be it Stephanie with monetary help for restorations, gifts to the volunteers to let them know they are doing a great job or even all of us subscribers plus viewers to the youtube channel chatting and supporting one another. Patreons very model is a tier system. Higher paying tiers do benefit more with extra content, it is to be expected. Nothing has been lost for contributing as a lower tier patreon, you are still valued. Please do donate because it feels right for you to help. Keep up the good vibes <3

I think it was just the way it was stated/ worded about what Stephanie was going to do that have upset people so. What I find UPSETTING is that people are now being labeled KAREN'S and some want to "knock a few offendeds heads", all because people voiced their opinions/concerns about how they were feeling. We shouldn't be name calling or faulting others on how they feel. We are a FAMILY here on this platform and yes at times there will be bumps in the road, but by listening graciously things can change and get resolved and we all live happily. Stephanie isn't rude, she's a very caring person and that is why she felt the need to address some of the comments that have hurt her feelings otherwise she would have just swept it under the carpet and moved on. the higher tiers pay more. I completely understand having a zoom call with them. not a big deal to me. however I know people love you so much so I can understand the jealousy ;) keep rocking. you guys are nothing but sweet!

I decided to read these comments after I saw the headline, I can’t honestly believe some people even have these thoughts, disappointing ☹️. I’m reading these comments first before I sit down with my glass of wine to watch the recording which I am very grateful to view. I’m upset to read all negative comments as Stephanie always tries her best. We choose to contribute to be a part of this fabulous experience of restoring this beautiful chateau and follow remotely the lovely people that make this a delightful experience. Stephanie and team make the best choices and it is not our place to dictate. Sit back and enjoy for gods sake. Thank you again Stephanie for making the best decision ❤️

To explain why some people may have been disappointed...I dont get a chance with work to watch each patreon video each week. So I received an email about this Zoom Call Starting and got a bit excited to join in. Once I got here it said it was for the higher tiers only. I would think anyone would be bummed in that situation. I don't think it was intentionally done to disappoint people but it did. Hopefully its posted soon for everyone to enjoy and we can all move on.

At first I was disappointed, but now I feel ashamed if being disappointed. Stephanie trys to be fair and I trust her good judgment. My non-patreon friends feel left out when we are taking about the latest video and I share things they are not aware because I watched a Patreon video. Same goes with higher tiers. We all love Stephanie and support her. She is kind and open hearted. I hope she forgives me my original disappointment. I am happy for the higher tiers and thankful Stephanie allows me to share her journey. Count Alton

I agree, Tammy. I'm getting pretty tired of these sanctimonious people schooling others on how they are supposed to be reacting and asking questions. We need to be able to speak freely here. If some are disappointed, then that's their feelings. Don't shame them. The next time I see someone being high handed, I'm letting them have it. That's how sick of it I am.
