I would love to see more photos of the chateau before the work you have done... Stephanie you really are so inspiring and I loved hearing your answers to the questions. I especially liked what you said about pessimism stealing the joy from the present moment; it's so true and something I forget easily. I always feel a little discouraged by how easily everyone answers "what is your purpose?"...I have absolutely no idea how I'd answer that question. I need to use all of you at Lalande as motivation to find my purpose in life!!

I really enjoyed this. I want to tell you what finding your vlog and the ability to be a patron has meant to me~ it’s been a difficult season and you’ve shown not just a different way to live but a different way to be. Stephanie, one of the things that you do that is so marvelous, is you step back and let others shine. You are very generous with the limelight. For example the video you made with Oliver when you went to the village Monet painted. You would ask a question then step back and let Oliver talk about something he loved and knew well. Stephanie, I was not sure how you could honestly answer the questions that you created and not have “rehearsed” answers. You proved me wrong. As always, the insight you bring is amazing. You were spot on with the answers you gave. You have kept the childlike vision for life. As in the fairytale, “they lived happily ever after”. That is what your optimism brings. I remember when you returned to LaLande at the beginning of the quarantine, you told everyone about the cancellations but you were not worried about the loss of income, you stated that it would all workout. I appreciate your comments about worry. I am a worrier. I think I started worrying as a child because after bad things happened, and caught me off guard, I would tell myself that I should have seen it coming. I could have done something and it wouldn’t have been so bad. Fast forward 40 years and I am an adult with terrible anxiety. But you are so right, all the worry just sucks the joy out of life. I’ve been trying to embrace a different way of going about things. COVID took everything out of my hands. My mother fighting cancer is out of my hands. I am still concerned of course. But I just try to value and appreciate everything good everyday now. Thanks in large part to seeing the joy you find in everything. Your purpose is not only to make things beautiful but it truly is to bring joy and positivity to so many people. You have so many fans now and I only see that growing. I worry (of course I still do I’m me) you can’t possibly keep your light shining so bright. It is amazing to me how bright it is. Please don’t ever let it fade. Protect it. You are a treasure.

Loved seeing you both and it made me think that its a shame that the the people who are not patrons dont have a chance to see these amazing interviews with the people in the chateau. I completely appreciate that this is something special you do for your patrons but id also love to see you share them with your broader youtube audience because they are really warm , uplifting and magical in what are very stressful times in the world...i actually became a patron just so i could see selmars video! I was wondering if you could treat the patron videos as early previews of this content that we get to see first befpre anyone else....so it would still be a very lovely gift for your patrons....but then after a time you can also share them on youtube also...kind of like movies that play in the theater first and then go to tv!. they are too special for us to keep to ourselves permanently!

I am so sorry to hear about your mum. It's a hard thing to go through. As a mum, I can tell you, your mum wants you to enjoy every moment you can and to live your life to your fullest and to try to not worry. Again as a mim, I know she would try and take all of your worry from you. I know how crippling anxiety can be so am glad to hear you are working on it. It is a steep mountain so just keep at it. The joke is of course: how do you eat and elephant (not that anyone would eat such a lovely animal just a size metaphor)? one bite at a time😊 Best of luck and big thought hugs to you.

What a wonderful interview! It’s always fun to see you and Michael together- your energies play off one another so well, and that is a beautiful friendship. Stephanie, when you were talking about your purpose, I was also thinking about the community you have created within your home, and how you have expanded that community all over the world! I’m sure I speak for others when I say that we feel like we are a part of your life in so many ways. I get as excited as you are when you discover a beautiful toile or porcelain, and when Isabelle receives her lovely gardening gifts. I imagine visiting your lovely chateau one day and joining you all for tea in the kitchen. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You have made living through this pandemic more tolerable, and for us in the US the pandemic continues indefinitely. Hi Stephanie, maybe this subject has already been brought up but have you considered doing a custom wallpaper in the chambre des oiseaux using the fabric in the bed as a sample? For example rebelwalls makes custom wallpaper and it will surely be less expensive and on the right scale.

The both of you have such profound ideas. When I was younger I wanted to be an opera singer as well but I never found myself listening to music. Absolutely wonderful interview! Although I've enjoyed watching the Chateau Diaries since the lockdown first began, I've only recently become a patron.
