On this passionate episode of Frame Trap, the allies share their feelings on the Pokemon Go craze and how they enjoyed EVO 2016. There's also plenty of love for Kentucky Route Zero, I Am Setsuna, Inside, and Furi. Outside the realm of gaming, Huber expresses a lot of frustration about the WWE draft. The podcast ends with some heated talk about Sonic Mania and where the blue hedgehog is headed.

Definitely a longer episode this week.  Originally, I wanted each Frame Trap to be 2-2.5 hours. Hopefully you do as well! Of course, any and all feedback is appreciated. If you'd like to submit a question to Frame Trap, please email askeasyallies AT gmail DOT com.

Loving this! Keep doing what you're doing guys!

But I can't play Inside because it is not on PS4.

Max Jahner

Haven't watched the episode yet, but it's on PC as well if that aids you. I don't have the best PC and it ran perfectly on my setup. Definitely would have preferred a PS4 version though (even used a PS4 controller when playing in on PC).

Long episodes are the best kind of episodes. ^_^

Just wondering what microphones you use?

Darren Lamb

Would love to see genso suikoden in the hands of Tokyo rpg if only Konami would sell their ip

As long as the conversation keeps flowing, make the episode as long as you like.

Everyone play Inside please! It's so good.

Hype Level 10

So weird EZ not having an Inside review. My goty so far. Furi it's a good game but it feels a bit cheap on almost every level. If it had the same amount of care that Inside had it could be a very special game.

Good god, 2 1/2 hours of frametrap! That was an adventure guys!

Mr. Bosman, I'm the same way being an introvert. Pokemon Go scares me. Also, the list of SNES games conversation was so fun which makes me suggest a forum topic I created called Selective Creation. The original was on the N64 and I'm about to create another for a new console sometime over the next week. Maybe everyone might like to see it.

Wonderful as always. Sharing this video that talks about "knowledge" versus "understanding" that you might dig. (In response to discussion about fighting games) Keep it up, yall! <a href="https://youtu.be/MFzDaBzBlL0" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/MFzDaBzBlL0</a>

I wanted to have an IN DEPTH conversation with Brad on I am Setsuna but honestly there's too much to go over. I agree with everything you said, but it feels like they wanted to do so much more and fell short doing it. So frustrating. I love all the throwbacks to classic RPGs, (there's CT references and items in game) but it just doesn't FEEL as CRISP as CT does. It feels fuzzy. I also don't like how there are no "single target moves" All the attacks do damage over AOE. I want a massive single target attack! Also Blowbeat, OP AS HELL. One shots 90% of all normal fights.

The 8 snes game discussion has me convinced that if there is ever a return of top tens or game awards, they need to be in fast and loose discussion form. That was very fun to listen to. Great show!

Absolutely love the longer episodes. It was great fun and I hope the allies got through the rest of the day okay. The Sonic stream was definitely aim to the fans, and it was so good that they went for that angle.. it worked on me :)

Hi Ben, great work as always. If you want to get into Wrestling I would suggest WWE's new initiative called Crusierweight Classic. It's a weekly hour-long show full of mostly unknown independent wrestlers going through a 32-man bracket running from June to September. It's very flash, includes a variety of wrestling styles (grapplers, lucha, acrobatic) has a very low barrier to entry and the commentary is fantastic, getting the audience emotionally invested , providing backstory and enthusiastic play-by-plays. Downside is it's not on regular TV so you either have to look elsewhere online (it's very easy to find) or ask Huber for his WWE subscription login.

Alternatively, if you just want to see if Wreslting in general would be your bag try this (<a href="http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x20vs9h_summerslam-2002-kurt-angle-vs-rey-mysterio_sport)" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x20vs9h_summerslam-2002-kurt-angle-vs-rey-mysterio_sport)</a> I'd say it's the best introduction to Wrestling as an entertainment concept. There's no back story, no technicalities, just a David and Goliath-style match that perfectly demonstrates how two opposing wrestling styles can culminate into an engaging story complimented by unprecedented athleticism.

1:11:23 "I wanna meet that Dad"? You're my hero Ian.

When Ian said he was doing the combos as fast as possible and still couldn't do it I cried a little inside. Ian if you see this, doing them as fast as possible is probably why you couldn't do it. People think combos are all about speed, but it's about timing. Timing that is not necessarily as fast as possible. Just as you can do the inputs too slow, you can very easily do it too fast.

Good to hear you guys talking about Furi, I loved it on PSN plus this month. A complete surprise for me.

GOD DAMNIT MEGA MAN X! HOW CAN YOU FORGET MEGA MAN X?! This makes me sooooo angry! xD

Just listening and great show as always. Quick note about the security issues of Pokemon Go, that was patched in the very first update and was only for iOS anyway so Huber you can go ahead and buy those lures ;)

Do you guys have any games/franchises which you find really tedious to play but still keep coming back? I find this with Lego games where I keep getting them despite getting quickly bored of the repetitive gameplay every time.

Hello Allies, If the NES Mini is successful, do you think Sony or Microsoft will produce its own Plug and Play console?

Anonymous

"Do you know what else we can't keep clean? Videogames" Hehe - Ben, you have the best show here, hands down.

I have two Pincirs. Both appeared right next to me at my apartment.

Dear Allies, please dont downplay other esports scenes. Please watch some of the latest CS:GO major in cologne, last years dota 2 the international and league of legends world championship before commenting on their on screen talent production quality and overall showmanship. Though FGC and EVO are great there no tournament like the International, there is no one near league worlds production value (though people are catching up fast) and there crazy numbers of memorable commentators and analyst in all other scenes like Thorin, Vilat, Monte christo, Jatt, Deficio, 2good, Anders, Semler, TobiWan, Merlini, Redeye and many many many more. These people do massive amount of tournament games and leagues all year they master their craft and try to improve every dai and you dismissed them just because you only watch EVO or at least it seemed that way.

Final Fight on SNES didnt even HAVE the two player mode!

I strongly disagree with Ben on Sonic Mania. Taking what fans love and want and adding some freshness is super great news. I'm frankly tired of the idea in gaming communities that everything needs to "evolve" or do something super new. Perhaps Ben isn't saying that, but I don't understand the lack of enthusiasm.

Driving and Pokemon Go is not optimal. My partner and I do it (I drive, she plays it on the phone) when we commute from work and home. It really isn't an issue because it's a lot harder to play that way. The optimal way to play is on a bike. Followed by walking.

I want to watch Huber live stream himself watching WWE.

Anonymous

Yeah! Fight for Castlevania IV! I'd have tossed in Actraiser myself. I understand giving the nod to Mario Kart but F-Zero was a launch title and _featured on the SNES retail packaging._

James Post

Kyle was talking about a JRPG character that seems to be just goofy comic relief and then turns out to be much deeper ... I just assumed he was talking about Jansen from Lost Odyssey.

Hey! I really enjoyed this episode, hadn't listened to frame trap in a while but it was cool! I really want to get the complete experience of KR0, I just love the aesthetics of the game, it is probably one of the few truly undefinable games today. But I've only played the first two acts. Inside kind of disappointed me, I was expecting it to BLOW me away, and I'll say that the art direction and the overall attention to detail was absolutely stunning, the Third act twist kind of took the wind off my sails. It was going for shocking, and it was, but to me it mostly fell flat and ended up a bit ridiculous. I also felt a bit like Bosman, that there was a lot of inferred meaning in it, I'm sure, and a lot of discussion about the themes, but most of it to me felt more like "because it's weird cool" than "because it means something". Another issue I had with the game was that there was basically 2 Puzzle variations, push /grab thing to press button, and then several iterations of "Pull the lever for a while and run back and forth until danger is gone". The second variety became very grating towards the end of the game. On the other hand I actually really loved FURI, highly recommended, and it is STILL available for free until the end of the month. Granted in several occasions I was ready to just quit the game, convinced that I just didn't have it in me to beat a boss, but I came back. And by the time I finished the main game in the normal difficulty, I went back and managed to beat it again in one go. The game does an amazing work at training you and pushing you past your limit. There were moments where I almost hated it, but in the end it felt like a really impressive achievement. It's a bit terrible, but Sonic mania has made me think that maybe sonic was never good, speed and platforming don't really work well together. And I've found it hard to imagine a type of game that would bring the best out of these concepts. In a somewhat sinister way, I feel endless runner kinda works, but it really doesn't allow for much depth... and it's funny when you consider that Sonic Dash and Sonic &amp; All-Stars Racing Transformed have been the best evaluated sonic related games in the last several years. Anyhow! Great episode.
