Unlike previous years, we got involved with a few charities before the holidays. I want to talk about how those involvements came to be in today’s editorial, but a quick shout out to the team (specifically Isla for tech assistance and Bloodworth for scheduling) for making it happen. This is a nice, calm, mid-month production week for us, allowing the editorial staff to finish up reviews. Shin Megami Tensei V is coming in hot from Ben, and I’m two paragraphs into the script for Riders Republic. Stay tuned!

Business question: With the 2.0 update now out for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, will we see the return of Community Island Hop? Not necessarily an immediate return, but possibly in a month or two, when almost everyone has had some time to make some renovations to their island to accommodate the new items and features.

Hey Mr. Jones! Inspired by what you touched on in last week’s editorial, since EZA is typically busy during this time of year to spearhead charity work and thus being easier to be invited for others’ efforts, it makes me ask: Do you think it would be a good idea to infuse charity efforts into events EZA already builds its year around like the Anniversary or Easy Chillin’? For example, is there a way for EZA to try and build up the Patreon, but some of someone’s pledge to a charity, or would that be WAY too complicated to function properly (Like, if someone pledges $5 for a month, but three of that would go to EZA and the remaining two would be put towards a charity fund EZA would donate at the end of the event?)? EZA could try and put goals like what happened for the food reviews, childhood pictures, etc. if a set amount has been raised. Just a few ideas I had I wanted to hear your thoughts about. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful rest of your day! Cheers! QUESTION: Inspired by last week’s editorial, since EZA is busy during this time of year to spearhead charity work and thus being easier to be invited for others’ efforts, do you think it would be a good idea to infuse charity efforts into events EZA already builds its year around like the Anniversary or Easy Chillin’? And when EZA tries to build up the Patreon, would there be a way for people to choose between pledging for the Patreon or the charity? Maybe somehow both if someone’s pledge can be split or would that be WAY too complicated to work?

Hey Brandon, thanks for the great answer regarding Delayed Input. And you nailed the name! It’s Klut-k, so very well done Sir! 😄 Keep up the great work and don’t be to hard on yourself with the moderator thing. I think you made tremendous progress over the time and managed to give the pod your own note. So, yeah, like i said, keep up the great work! L&R, René

I think the question of why couldn't Kyle have done delayed input at easy allies comes up because Kyle's editorial style feels very rambley and winged, in a good way but I can see why people would think its a low effort show. For whatever reason that is just Kyle's aesthetic

Greetings Jones, Been a while since I caught a Cup Of Jones episode. Thought this would be a great time to get a business/future development question answered as this episode got me thinking. I know that every single Ally puts so much work into content creation. Not just the ever growing library of regular shows, but new show ideas, deep dives, reviews, and big events. My question: Is it in the ally’s future plans to develop more streamlined communication efforts with the community and possibly getting more community involvement for show creation? I work in marketing, so I am always curious on the ways community focused outlets develop strategies to not only involve the current support (Patreon) group more, but getting more reach within the gaming community. To give an example that may help elaborate the question. Another popular gaming media outlet immediately sends you a Discord link when you support them. Users can interact with other community members alongside mods etc. Things like podcast questions or “updates” are posted on Patreon to involve the community in a more “streamlined” way. As I stated previously, Easy Allies makes a ton of content, so I understand that you may not have the people power and maybe not enough time to have someone from the team implement/manage these efforts. I was just curious on your thoughts! Thanks Jones, much love and respect!

Hi, Jones. A couple of weeks ago on the podcast (maybe it was the Q&A? I forgot), I think there was a question regarding what game you'd like to play with an ally. I was thinking back when the first 3 remasters got released, that when the Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster finally came around (which looks like it will soon since V just released) that it would make for a great "show" for you to do with Huber since he always mentions that he's never gotten around to it. These remasters are truly great, and I think because they aren't on consoles yet, and are only on PC and mobile currently, that they aren't getting the attention they deserve. I think it'd make for a great series in the same vein as your Pokemon streams you did with Kyle, except this time you'd be in the passenger's seat while Huber takes the wheel. I also think it'd be a great opportunity to hear your thoughts on the new version and how it might end up differing from the original, as well as being able to hear the excellent new orchestral arrangements that Uematsu and his team have been producing. I know that a show like this would be a big undertaking, but with the auto-battle feature, who knows, maybe it'd actually go pretty fast. I also know you've already streamed the game, so maybe that's not something you want to do again. Either way, I appreciate you reading this. Thanks!

Heya Jones, What, no? I don't know where you heard that but no, of course not. But what does Easy Allies fear most on a first date: sitting too close, calling the waiter by his first name, or eating Oreos but eathing the cookie before the cream? Bonus: I know you have a lot of people interested in another Island Hop after the Animal Crossing update. I would like to suggest a Vacation Home Hop. The DLC makes it so easy to do. You get an app on your Nook Phone that allows you, from anywhere, to add people to follow, click on one of their properties, and visit it. No waiting for Dodo Airlines and only 1-2 rooms to explore.

Ahoy Jonesy, I just finished The Last Campfire and it got me thinking about voice acting because the narrator fully had her hooks in me within the first few minutes of the game. (Her name is Rachel August and according to her Twitter bio she calls herself a Norwegian-British-Icelandic Actor but she reminded me a lot of the Childlike Empress from The Neverending Story). It had me wondering what kind of voice actor Jonesy would aim to be - would you want to try to disappear into an accent or character far removed from your normal speaking voice to stretch that theatrical muscle or would you want to stay closer to your "Review Copy Provided by Playstation" comfort zone? I know you tend to have a problem with HYPER recognizable actors popping up in things, as it draws you away from the character that they're playing - Would you be concerned with the EZA community not being able to fully immerse in a game if, all of a sudden, their favorite Brand Manager just sauntered into their game?
