There’s a problem with the audio for Ian, it’s inaudible.

Soul

In the video it says his mic is on later but it’s off at the start

HALF LIFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

No one wanted a VR Half Life game, it’s going to flop, I’m sure if you ask 40 people if they have a VR headset I’m sure only 1 person will say yes

Anonymous

I'm almost certain it won't 'flop'. Look at the current sales statistics on steam, the valve index which includes HL Alyx (1000 euros +) is at the top of the list.

I have not played a Pokemon since Gameboy Advanced, After playing SwSh I will not be buying the next one. A breath of the wild style rework, might make me look. Otherwise I have no interest in it anymore, won't feel like I missed out. So to me, they did fuck it up in my eyes, I expect the next game to be a dip.

POKEMONOPOLY: So I was wracking my brain for that singular word Jones wanted to describe what's going on with Pokemon... The thing where so many people are dissatisfied yet the product is too successful to really change. Success based innovation paralysis. Then I realized that's what monopolies do right? Like if you're too successful and there's no competition so yer on top, but not really satisfying people or innovating--that's exactly what a monopoly brings about. So I said hey--Pokemonopoly. There's probably a better word for it.

FLAMING MOENOPOLY: Alternatively you've likely seen the twitter meme that uses the simpsons scene where Homer is trying to tell Moe he's lost a customer, but Moe is making so much money that he literally can't hear Homer. The meme has Moe branded 'gamefreak' and homer branded 'twitter'. It's from the Flaming Moe episode.. so I thought... hey---Flaming Moenopoly.

CLARIFICATION: The term Jones is looking for is MVP (Minimum Viable Product), a product with just enough features to satisfy customers and provide feedback for future product development.

Correction: The Oculus Quest will run Half Life: Alyx but only when connected to a PC via a cable. Also I heard an interesting take on Half Life VR on Kinda Funny Daily to support your own, in that far from being a cynical cash grab to sell their headset, the game is part a long-planned roll out which underpins their confidence in the future of VR. There are not many companies with the cash to create a 20 hour fully realised game for VR and considering the talent they brought onto the team and the time taken to produce it, this looks to be a game designed to please those who can and are willing to invest in the hardware necessary to do so but also cements Valve’s financial support for VR. Considering how much and how often consumers are willing to spend to upgrade mobile phones and tablets etc, this could entice wider interest in their VR tech and that of others not just because it is Half Life but it is a triple A VR game developed by Valve.
