DMC5 was my favorite game this year but Astral Chain has firmly taken it’s place. It was so much more than I expected topped a with unique battle system that isn’t quite like anything else. I really hope this becomes a franchise and we get an Astral Chain 2.

Great review Ben. I agree with most of it. I actually do enjoy most the side missions themselves individually, but my problem is that the cases themselves become so long when you're trying to do everything in them, so that's what causes them to wear their welcome for me. If they had segmented some of the lengthier cases into smaller chapters, I don't think I would've gotten that feeling of fatigue or fear of trying to S+ rank individual cases. I'm glad you chose to slide the Arm Legion into the review. It is right at that cusp of being too far to show, but it is easily my favorite of the bunch, and the boss fight following getting it was when the game truly clicked for me with the need to switch between Legions with different roles during different stages of combat. It was fun watching the footage of how you play too. Oh, and the wide cast of characters might be somewhat bland, (Sharing hairstyles with your character creation choices was a mistake.) but Lappy is COTY!

Personally I think Astral Chain is a 7 at best the story is meh the combat is no where near as good as Bayonetta or DMC

I'm enjoying my time with the game think I'm getting close to end a solid 8 is feeling about right, maybe 8.5. Great review!

The characters were so cliche and the main character is a voiceless blank that can be replaced with your other sex sibling seamlessly. The combat is sluggish and boring especially in comparison to other games like dmc, bayonetta, GOW, MG Rising, and Ninja Gaiden...... The atmosphere and the idea behind the story are very cool, but this game is just weighed down by so many problems. Getting lost in some of these very bland dungeons because of frustrating platforming or just because everything looks the same is not fun. I couldn't even finish this game. Ben you got me mad hype for this game and I have to say it has been a huge disappointment and an even bigger waste of money. Still luv ya but imma have to check myself before allowing myself to get carried away by the eza hype train.
