I get TWO podcasts? Sounds great to me!

Anonymous

You've heard of Fire Emblem: Three houses, now get ready for Easy Allies Podcast #178: Two Versions!

Anonymous

Thanks for putting both up.

Anonymous

Two podcasts for the price of one!

Anonymous

I mean it's not ideal... But we get a double helping of Podcast!

Anonymous

Decisions, Decisions... You guys just cannot catch a break it seems, oh well... guess I'll watch both when I can find the time. Any recommendations on which to watch first?

Anonymous

Gonna watch both :) thank you

Anonymous

Dope, double podcast.

Jacob K

this is like Pokémon sword and shield

rob

thank you for sharing both of these

EasyAllies

If you're going to watch both, full panel bad audio is probably the best one to start with

Anonymous

Kyle, you totally should have dubbed the podcast by roles

Anonymous

I'll take the bad audio for max freshness.

Stephen Sosa

The hype for Doom 64 was all too real that it blew out the power.

Anonymous

Please also add the other version in the RSS feed. Thank you

Anonymous

I hope you could invest on at least a UPS for the hardware that handles the recordings. Anyways L&R. Thank you for the dual podcast!

Anonymous

I have no idea what the description means. My podcast app has only downloaded one podcast from the RSS feed. Is that all I need to listen to or does that only get me half the podcast? What I *think* it's saying... The podcast, as recorded with four people had some sort of unspecified audio issues due a power cut, so Jones and Bosman attempted to re-record it with just the two of them. Is that right?

Anonymous

Yep! The Jones and Kyle one is trying to recap the part of the podcast with bad audio. The 4 panel podcast is what was recorded until the power outage.

Anonymous

Counter to what Kyle says about LTTP: not only is it 'one of the greats', but yes, I do revisit this game every year or two. Full playthrough. Good times.

Anonymous

Huber screaming "BOO-YEA" right when the power goes out is the most Huber thing that could've possibly happened

Anonymous

Yes Kyle, you should get the 8bitdo controller. Ben, you must have an older version that doesn't have ZL/ZR. The current models do.

Anonymous

Curious if there was any Astral Chain talk on the 1st podcast that was lost as there isn’t any on the 2nd or on Friend Code. I know the review is coming but I’m just hoping the conversation on it doesn’t get skipped due to the direct.

Soul

On the last frame trap Ben had impressions since he was still pretty much at the start. Other than that there hasn’t been anything. You shouldn’t have expected much from friend code this week given the direct.

Anonymous

The bad version sounds like I'm 10 years old in the middle of the night with my ear against the door listening to my parents watch a rated R movie in the other room. But instead of a rated R movie, I just hear some cool guys talk about games.

Anonymous

Boo. Yah.

Anonymous

Correction to the bad Audio Version: Overwatch has built in Voice Chat on Switch like Fortnite. No need for the phone app.

Anonymous

CORRECTION: Terry is the Protagonist of the Fatal Fury series. KoF has Kyo Kusanagi.

Anonymous

So... we get two podcasts in one?

Anonymous

CORRECTION: Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is definitely a bigger remake than Kyle is giving it credit for. It's not just the heads being redone, the entire character models are altered. The costumes are even slightly different. It's just most noticeable with the heads. Additionally, the terrain is clearly has a much higher polygon count. It is closer to resembling Xenoblade X's now, which is very clear in the shot of Eryth Sea as well as the new area, Bionis' Shoulder. There is also clearly more grass added than in the original game, as seen in the scene where Shulk is lying down. Like all Monolithsoft games, all of the graphics will probably get a significant upgrade between this initial reveal and the final release as well.

Just here to say Jones.. I PRAY you give Yoshi's Island a second chance. I'll never forget how crummy your first experience was and honestly man I can't say I blame you. That was NOT a good environment to be playing that game. It's slower. The egg shooting thing takes a second to get used to, but man.. it is one of the greats. Constant inventiveness in every single level. You are getting clubbed over the head with NEW ideas every stage. It's really fun and with the addition of save states and rewind I really think it's worth a second try. P.S. Shout outs to Gargoyle's quest on Gameboy. Great OST.

Anonymous

The 'bad audio' podcast is GREAT! Thanks for including it. Audio ain't so bad on headphones. Dude.. that zoom in when Jones is talking about Big Macs.. INTENSE.

Anonymous

Thank you for letting us have the bad audio version as well. I still watched the whole thing.

BOOYAH

Anonymous

I love how this is my first early podcast after becoming a patreon yesterday AMAZING keep the awesome work guys and I appreciate including both versions.

Pedro Lippe

The "BOOYAH" fucking killed me, holy crap HAHAHA

To Kyle: I have the 8BitDo SN30 Pro. It feels like the real thing, the Dpad is excellent, and it has ZL and ZR buttons. It also has sticks for when you need them. Highly recommend.

Is the bad audio in the RSS feed?

Correction: The game Brandon was talking about wasn't a Breath of Fire title, it is Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom that has the lineage mechanic. The hero you would play in the different sections of the game would be determined by who you married throughout the course of your previous character's quest (there are three generations). It is generally considered to be the black sheep of the franchise (and it was definitely a step backwards in many regards), but it did some pretty ambitious things. Breath of Fire, on the other hand, is an enjoyable RPG, but it doesn't really do anything overly ambitious. Personally, I don't think the series really gets great until Breath of Fire III. Still, the first two games have a lot of fans.

I cleaned up some of the audio from the bad audio version here: https://www.soundcloud.com/mason-victoria/ezapodcast-fix L&R!

Anonymous

I'm actually upset at the way Kyle dismisses the Xenoblade remake. Like, he's wrong about basically everything he says.

Anonymous

In regards to Brandon's comment about it being the "ask your friend" Direct, that was totally the case with me. The Japanese version of the Direct announced a fully voiced remake of Famicom Detective Club, an amazing murder mystery for Super Nintendo. This game is without a doubt one of my favorite games of all time! I even tried to use my limited Japanese skills to hunt down a copy when I was in Tokyo (to no avail sadly, as it seems the original game was a weird Nintendo Power exclusive download). That said, I thought this game was too obscure to ever get a Switch port, let alone a from-the-ground-up remake with brand new graphics and VO! I broke into cold sweats at work trying to contain my excitement, but I doubt most people (even those very familiar with Nintendo) have any sort of personal connection to this series like I do. Long story short, I am an extremely happy camper and I'm ready to play this game using Google Translate if I have to haha

Anonymous

Correction: In return of the Obra Dinn, if the death could have multiple cause, all answer are accepted by the game. In my opinion, there's only one that's really ambiguous and one where the art style make it hard to see what's going on. L&R!

EasyAllies

No, if it were, you'd see a separate Patreon post for it. We can't post two things to the feed with a single post. -Bloodworth

Correction: Deadly Premonition is available on Xbox One through backwards compatibility as well as Jedi Academy

It might be worth getting a battery backup for your recording PC like this so if the power goes out you won't lose anything. Just make sure your PC's power supply doesn't use more power than the batterys max like 800watts. It should show the wattage on the back of your computer where you plug the power cord in. https://www.amazon.com/Tripp-Lite-Battery-Protection-OMNI1500LCDT/dp/B00AX9Z7R4/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?keywords=battery+backup&qid=1568283186&s=gateway&sprefix=battery+b&sr=8-7

The end of this podcast is the greatest ending of any podcast ever.
