For a second I thought "who is Mike?" I'm too used to everyone refer to him as Huber.

OH NO. I DIDNT KNOW THEY CANCELED PATRIOT. I blame the title of the show. People make assumptions 😢

so glad to hear you’re watching Fleabag, Ian. I’d love to hear your thoughts when you’re done with it - they do some stuff in S2 with the tv medium that is utterly bonkers in a fantastic way.

I must have missed the previous post where we submit lists of our favorite of Huber's favorite things. Lol. Welcome back Huber!

Ok Huber, please stop it with Pacific Rim 2! Since you wanted to hear why people don't like it, I'm here to tell you. (This will include spoilers!!!) - you're talking about nods and cameos of characters from part 1, what you wanted to say was "clear disrespect to the great characters from part 1". Mako builds some random and weak bonds with the new characters just so they can blow her up. Other characters are just written out. - the Mechs and the action: Let me reconstruct your train of thought – You see Pacific Rim 1 with massive Mechs, they look and move like they weight a lot and could actually be a real thing, to make it even better every Jaeger has special characteristics and is linked to the countries it's build in (some are mark 1 with nuclear reactors etc.), camera work is also great, you can clearly see the passion and level of detail they put into them. Now you start up Pacific Rim 2, you see a bunch of random mechs flipping around like they are doing Transformers Cosplay, no weight, no impact, unrealistic digital camera spins, the level of detail is gone and it looks generic. Instead of "Cherno Alpha is the last Mark One, build in russia and powered by a nuclear reactor" you get "hey did you see the green one has a hammer?!" The fights: Fights like Gipsy vs Alien Gipsy are the essence of how to make a generic cgi fest. Carbon Copy fights are always lame because 1. they are hard to follow and 2. carbon copy means the same skill set and that means uninteresting fight dynamics. There is more but those are the VERY obvious points everybody that liked the first movie can easily see. Turns out if you switch Del Toro with some random dude that made 3 tv episodes before getting his hands on Pacific Rim, some things just get lost. who would have thought! (tbh the first trailer of PR2 with the dumb mech lineup and fake digital zooms should be enough to get those "warning generic robot action - alarm bells ringing") Listen, it's ok to like every movie you want and normally I would just cringe a little after hearing "Pacific Rim 2 is a 10/10" and then let it go. You do you! But this time you asked for an explaination. Just don't believe for a second that Del Toro would every call PR2 a 10/10. It so obviously lacks all soul of the first movie and killed the franchise. *edit* some typos *edit2* The guys from Corridor Crew also talk about Pacific Rim in one of their React-Videos. If anyone is interested it's easy to find on youtube: "VFX Artists React to Bad & Great CGi 3" and Pacific Rim starts at 5:15

Well said. It's like comparing hobbit movies to the LotR movies. There's a stark difference in quality.
