Box Peek May Update (Patreon)

Another month has passed, and so I'm back to tell you about Box Peek progress!

Production Update

May was a pretty cool month for production variety. I started by wrapping up the shoot for Episode 7 and got the edit done not long after. Episode 7 was one of my favorite scripts and after the edit it's become a frontrunner for favorite episode.

Then, because I didn't want to bother Amanda to record pickup lines after she's had her baby (If haven't heard yet, Amanda is pregnant!) I did audio edits for episodes 8, 9, and 10 all at once. It was kind of crazy putting all of that together and really hearing the entirety of the series. Some parts are just as funny as I wanted and some just weren't working. I'm glad I did those audio edits now, because I needed more pickups I needed than I was assuming.
(In fact, I can share this with you: there was one character I completely forgot to record. I only realized this when it came time to pull their lines out of my VO folder. Normally that would be incredibly frustrating, but in the middle of May? I call myself a dumb idiot, chuckle, and move on.)

Finally I started the art for Episode 8. At this moment all of the characters and props are drawn and inked, with just backgrounds left. I produced a good mix of true art and hog slop in this batch.

June is traditionally a rough month to get stuff done on account of E3, so honestly we'll be lucky if I'm talking about the edit of Episode 8 this time next month. That said, it's still my goal.

Behind the Scenes Thoughts

I've actually written four unique entries that I've quickly deleted over the past hour, as I haven't landed on any wisdom yet. I'll use this as a learning moment. I think it's important to not be too self-critical, because that can be stifling, yet I still think some things are simply worth self-criticizing, because I believe some things are just bad. My words of wisdom then are to keep your more questionable works short, so nobody can justify being that mad at you when your thing is just bad.
