Our meeting last week was delayed to later today, after all picking completely different times to see Avengers this weekend, so any updates for May will be featured in next week's episode. In the meantime I'm still shaking trying to recover from all the insane battles I watched this weekend on the big and small screen.

Hello Jones, are you guys planning on doing a Days Gone spoiler mode? Its not that important I’m just wondering if we are to expect it or not :)

Anonymous

Congratulations!!! <3

Kaleb

Never catch Cup of Jones live, awesome surprise.

Personal : Just wanted to say yes we're spoiled this week :) So many emotions in just three days!! In movies what's something that must be there. For me it's good camera placement especially in combat

Anonymous

Any subtle jokes/hints that you've dropped about the pregnancy that you're proud of?

Megan Linart

Omg!!! Jones congrats!!!

Our third is due next week, and I have to tell you that kids are the absolute best! A huge congrats!!! I am so happy for you two!!!

Hey Jones, PERSONAL: First, congratulations on the announcement of little TJ (I know you said that was a temporary name given to him by Amanda’s parents, but it fits so well). Also… a small moment of silence… R.I.P. to the EZA studio charm (The blinking studio lights being fixed) Now on to the questions… I am back again this week with two quick mediation questions (blame Amanda for these two if you are getting tired of answering them :P and sorry if this might be boring your audience). Anyway, these questions might be more suited for the Scoop of Troop segment, but Amanda mentioned a Meditation App (for whatever reason, I never thought about an App), any issues with sharing what that App is and what exactly does it do?

Hey, Jones! Were you able to score a reservation for Galaxy's Edge? When is your next Disney outing? Would you consider doing an Allies Disney meet up, or are you way too impacted with E3 coming up? Anyways, you and Amanda are always a delight. Thanks for all that you do. L&R -Steven Edit: Just got my tickets! Hope you got yours as well! If you didn't I have 2 extra spots for Friday June 7th. They're all yours if you want 'em. Either way, I hope you get to experience that Galaxy's Edge goodness.

Hi Jones, Congratulations! My question may be about something that is far off into the future, but it's something that you may have to think about, and it's something that has been on my mind occasionally even though it's something that's even further down the line for me. And that is thing is how would you censor what your child plays or watches? No one really follows those 18 ratings (atleast in the UK). I mean the first game I ever remember playing was GTA on the Game Boy Colour. I also played every GTA game on release since. And yeah, I was definitely not 18 for most of them. Most of my games I played were my older brother's games, and most of them were definitely not for my age range. In fact when I was a kid I used to just watch the Discovery Channel with my dad, watching things like Air Crash Investigation and FBI Files. My parents were always just hands off regarding things like this (Could be because of how they don't know very much about Computers or technology, my dad has never owned a phone or a computer, mum's better but still not great). My brother is really technologically adept, but I think he was happy just to have another gamer in the family. I'm not sure if I would be hands off in a similar manner. And I'm just not sure what I would do actually do? Which brings me to my question? Do you know what you would do? Is it just a wait and see thing? I guessing I'm asking these questions because this is something that you'll have to actually do, much sooner than I would have to. And it's something I find interesting to see the differences in people's answers.

Watching CoJ live and just caught you are a gonna be a daddy. Congrats to both you and Amanda!

Hey Mr. Jones! With Mr. Hinck currently attending to his priorities, yourself going to be busy this fall, and in light of the sickness that temporarily wiped out the Allies post Anniversary, I’m left wondering: What is the minimum operating capacity of EZA in the event multiple Allies are unable to work on EZA related projects for whatever reason? Is there an emergency fallback plan like, “We’ll rely only on the podcast and x number of streams?” How few Allies does it take to keep things going? While this have never been needed, it’s better to ask about it before finding the need for said fallback plan. And for one final time, CONGRATULATIONS to you and Mrs. Troop! Thanks for reading my question and as always have a wonderful rest of your day! Cheers! P.S. I want to apologize for some miscommunication on my end regarding last week’s question about Retro news. While I am not frustrated in any way (and apologies for that as well for it coming across that way. That was NOT my intention), I didn’t ask with the meaning it would be the final Retro full stop, but in regards to the final news of the Retros being worked on. Because I am not aware (obviously) of the extensive process of how any given Retro is assembled, I want to thank you for the detail regarding the potential of an Ally instantly dropping out. Again, I’m sorry for not being as concise as I thought. To conclude, in response to you saying in reading questions like mine being tempted to give a little new, by all means please continue NOT to with my questions for the reasons you provided. I appreciate the answer being a hard no, with no explanation necessary if that is the answer, regardless of whatever I ask. Thanks again Mr. Jones.

Hi Jones, First of all, let me be the hundredth or so person to congratulate you and Amanda on your upcoming DLC release. I hope the two of you have been able to take some time during the past week to bask in all the love and excitement we've been sending your way. I was going to use this week to ask you about some of the Disney Broadway productions that have popped up recently but in the interest of keeping the good vibes going, I've decided to go with a few jolly selections instead: - On the Town - She Loves Me - You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown

Don't know about anyone else, but that news has probably made my month. ALL the BEST to you and Amanda!

Hello Jones! You had the meeting about your E3 coverage last week. So can you tell us by now if Kyle will be theoretically available for all E3 live reactions this year? Also, feel free to share anything else from that meeting that is okay for us to already know! :-) Have a nice start into the week, Snowcone Guy

Anonymous

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Thank you for sharing this joyful news to us. It brightened my otherwise gloomy and depressing day.

Cabbagelad

*Half feedback, half business* Firstly congratulations on the baby news! Time to listen back to those parenting advice bits on the podcast. I recently ordered a shirt from fangamer to the UK. There were 2 shipping options, 1 for $6 customs not included or $29 for customs guaranteed. I took a chance and went for the cheaper option and was pleasantly suprised to not have to pay any custom charges! The quality of the shirt is fantastic and I'm really happy with it. The reason I went with fangamer is that you were quite frank is saying the quality of the spreadshirt merch was so so. My question is, why is the merch spread across 2 stores? The quality of the shirt from fangamer is great so why not sell from fangamer exclusively?

Congrats guys, I had a baby 12 weeks ago, babies aren't that hard ^_^

Hello Brandon. Last week you’ve talk abound sound quality and I would like to bring another thing to your attention: different video editors render reviews with different sound level. This may not be noticeable on its own, but it’s pretty obvious when you work with two reviews back to back (try listening SteamWorld Quest, then Mortal Kombat 11, then Days Gone. Or just look at this waveform comparison image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n4lfp485b3dis7t/waveform.png?raw=1). I’m not sure how much work it would take to create and use the same rendering template for all editors, so I’m not asking you to fix this. Just letting you know.

**Personal** Congratulations Jones and Amanda!! On the topic of babies, a gamer friend of mine who is also a father is raising his children with a healthy appetite for games, but he is introducing them to games on a generational level. They are 3 and 6 respectively and mostly play the NES and SNES before they’ll be able to graduate on up to more recent games and consoles. How do you think you might introduce your kiddo to games when the time is right? Will it be with games in mind, consoles, ease of play that will reward them the most at a low skill level to keep them engaged and interested? All the best, Eric

Andrew Chalmers

Congratulations!!! I was so excited when I heard the news. I'm a new parent of a now 9 month old. It's tough* but incredibly worth it. *Depending on your baby. Parents can have wildly different experiences. Babies are unpredictable like that.

Andrew Chalmers

I sit here reading your comment after many months of sleep deprivation. If only haha.

Congratulations. :) I hope you don't mind me saying this, but please don't have him circumcised. I normally don't intrude on other people's personal matters, but my mother has been an anti-circumcision activist for decades (and after having studied all the stuff she has, I fully agree with her on the subject), so I'm obliged to speak up. It's not like being anti-vaccine. There are dozens of legitimate, highly scientific studies about the drawbacks, and multiple mainstream medical organizations that do not recommend it. And being a surgical prodedure, it's inherently risky. I don't mean to shock or horrify, but it has caused deaths and disfigurement. Some of these cases have gotten wide publicity. And apologies for TMI, but from personal experience, that little piece of skin is one of the best parts of being a boy. :)

**Personal Question* SUPER CONGRATULATIONS! Seeing this made me tear up from happines! I know that I had absolutely nothing to do with this baby (hopefully) but I still feel super excited about it. I bet this kid will be a gamer to kick all our butts. Will the baby be the 10th official ally now? Are you and Amanda excited to become parents? If you slept little before, does that mean you wont sleep at all now? I wish you both all the best and make sure you take time off when needed! Lots of Love, Lotias

Congratulations from Japan. So happy for you guys!

Wow the live chat record is quite funny. You see it hit top gear with tonnes of congratulatory comments as soon as the reveal happens. You can almost feel everyone fall off their seats in shock haha.

(E-Van de Were-G-foss) Hi Jones, First off, congratulations! Delighted for you and Amanda. Now the question. I was wondering, what do you think of studios and companies spoiling their own material? After nearly a week now I have not seen a single spoiler for Endgame, but on Monday, before the Game of Thrones episode The Long Night had a chance to air globally, the HBO Instagram account posted an image of the last scene of the whole battle, spoiling it for pretty much everyone outside of the US. I know people (individuals) will post spoilers, it happens, but for the company itself to spoil something like that just seems completely irresponsible to me. L&R

Hey Jones, congratulations to you and Amanda!

Congratz to you and Amanda. I wish you all the very best. Enjoy this fantastic time! L&R

Our son is 18 months old. We had a planned home birth and had such a great experience that we will probably do that again for any other kids we have - if that interests y’all reach out and I can answer any questions you have, and I have some great resources I can point you to. (IMO it’s actually safer and healthier for mom and baby to give birth outside of a hospital if possible.) I had a lot of people tell me how much work, stress, and sacrifice babies are. Nah. Everything you have to “give up” is in exchange for something so much better. Enjoy every moment you can (you won’t enjoy all of them which is okay - some stuff is tough) and don’t stress out about getting it all right. Kids aren’t a project, they are a blessing. Just love them and you should be fine. L&R

Jones, I was ridiculously excited to see your baby announcement. It’s a rush but I think you’re going to be an awesome dad. Congratulations a hundred times over!

Hey, just wondering how your Jojo's Bizarre Adventure has been going. I think you mentioned it was on a Streaming service you used now. Did you finish part 3 yet? Any comments on what you've watched since that EZAnime episode?

*Gasp* SIPPY CUP OF JONES!?!?!?!?!!! YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS to you both!!! You two are going to be the most amazing, awesome parents in the world! I'm crying, everyone else is crying! Ahem. On a more serious note Mr. Jones, from one father with Anxiety to another... you got this. You got this. YOU. GOT. THIS. It'll be the hardest thing you've ever done. There will be days where you feel like you are spending 95% of it just focusing on breathing. But after 3ish months you'll break free of the forest, you'll see the sky is clear and beautiful and blue, and you'll know that everything will be okay. You and the Allies have been such a massive emotional support for me in the first few months of my son's life. If 9 strangers on a screen can help me get through the day, I can't imagine how much more support you'll have from Allies and allies in person. We are ALL here for you and your family as you enter this new chapter. Again, congratulations to you both, sir and ma'am. *tips hat*

A pet peeve my mother has about modern birthing practices is the woman laying down with her legs up. This makes giving birth more difficult as you're working against gravity.

Anonymous

Apologies if this already been answered I am a few weeks behind. Congrats on the good news. I have to ask we are nearly a month away from E3 (YAY!) how is the communication between the two rooms going? (Stage & Streaming) you said this is paramount for coverage,

Paused to watch Three Amigos and was not disappointed!

Hey Jones, When you’ve been asked about the possibility of EZA hiring more people one day, you’ve mentioned that a potential position could be another editor. Given your recent wonderful announcement, this would seem even more likely, if one day you wanted to step back a bit from your current production responsibilities (This reads like I’m jumping to conclusions and I’m not, I’m just saying it would be understandable). The only thing I’ve wondered when this has came up is, why not Don? I’m aware of Don’s current position at Funhaus, but should the need arise, would it not make a tonne of sense to have him come into a more full time position at EZA? He already knows the ins and outs of how EZA operates, and seems to be happy in having a background role for the most part. Apologies if I’m underestimating Don’s current EZA workload, or EZA’s current workload in general when it comes to editing and such, but it’s just been a thought I’ve had every time it’s came up in the past.

Congratulations on the little one, you two! Yall are going to be wonderful parents. <3

Jones, listen very carefully. You're going to be rocking/holding a baby for maybe hours at a time. You'll only have 1 hand available, so your going to be very limited in your game options. Don't settle for phone games. Almost every Pokemon game has an L button = A button option, meaning you can play one handed. This is the key to baby care.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family! My question this week is related to the audio versions. I used to listen to audio versions of cup of jones, spoiler modes and other random programs through my easy allies early editions feed on the Podcast Republic app. However the 15th of april cup of jones episode is the last item in the feed and new episodes aren't appearing. Did you guys change something on your end or do I need to get a new feed or podcast app? L&R

Anonymous

This is an issue with patreon, something happened with the original RSS feed people received in their emails. If you go onto the overview page of EZA Patreon on browser and copy the RSS feed link on the right to use in your podcast app it should start updating again.

Anonymous

Great thanks Kristen. Very helpful. Jones please ignore unless you feel this message needs to go out to all the listeners.

Jonesy and Troop! Well done you guys, so excited for you both!

Congratulations again Jones, I would like to add something about your time off when your future child arrives. I would like it if you actually take time off/away from EZA and focus on the baby. That means no reviews/Cup of Jones/Showcase/Group Stream etc. This business needs to be able to exist without Papa Jones. Some suggestions, Kyle will voice all reviews for the time you are away, Allies take turns with hosting Cup of Jones/Community Showcase. Don becomes step Papa. I hope you and Amanda's unborn child the best. Please don't be afraid to take a month off, we will still be here....hopefully :) iboshow

Howdy Jones. I have to imagine this has been asked before, but have you ever considered making a simple graphics package for when Kyle promotes the Patreon towards the end of the EZA podcast? Maybe just lead with the animated Patreon logo followed with a brief, slow scroll of the EZA patreon homepage during his pitch? (I've seen a number of creators lead with this logo animation during their Patreon plugs that Patreon provided on their rebranding. If you don't already have it: https://i.imgur.com/X8vgtQ6.gif.

Also, don't just record yourself scrolling a web page like I see others do. An extension like Nimbus Capture can quickly generate a webpage screenshot that you can have pan by instead. https://nimbusweb.me/screenshot.php)

Hey Jones, i'm back with another trailer. Mostly because I don't know if it would necessarily be on your radar, I hope you can check out the Bloodstained release date trailer. It's fascinating because I legitimately can't think of a trailer that has done this before and I love it. I hope you can check it out and share some thoughts.

Josh Burcham

You mentioned in the last episode that you thought Disney infinity was going to be really bad before you knew all the details. Are there any other games that you like now but were very down upon before release? (Also yay baby congratulations!)

Kiraz

Hello Jones!!! Is there a place to buy EZA throw pillows, like the ones you have on the couch for group streams? Didn’t see them on spreadshirt or fangamer. Do you all have plans to add more merch in the future? Thanks! L&R

YOOO! Congratulations on the your miracle of humanity guys! You'll make great parents. He/she will make a great edition to the Allies to <3. Also... Good luck.

Howdy Jones! Congratulations on your and Amanda's upcoming bundle of joy. I was catching up this evening on the last Hall of Greats and had a couple of ideas to improve for the next time, as well as some general questions about the show's setup. First off, I was curious about how the list on the right side is decided as far as order is concerned, and what your thoughts would be about having them in alphabetical order by ally, as well as possibly having their name by their entry? For instance, this would mean having Bloodworth at the top followed by each ally in alphabetical order, and having a name label by their pick when it comes up for the stream. The order of presentation could still be random, but this would allow those late to the stream to see what others have brought. It would also get rid of speculation or spoilers if chat ends up figuring out an ally's entry, like what happened when they were in alphabetical order by title. My second thought was about recording the isolated voting process and I was curious about how appropriate the other rooms in the office are for this sort of thing. Would Ian's recording room, the studio where you shoot the podcasts or the hangout area be equipped to have each ally come through to vote and record? I always felt the separate voting space added to the voting process in the garage, and while it might not be necessary, it could add a change of scenery and sense of weight to the process when an ally enters the room by themself. Wanted to get your general thoughts on this. As always, love and Respect, didn't want to make these thoughts too long like I've tended to do sometimes in the past Brian from Happy Gaming

Anonymous

First of all congrats on the expanding family you've leveled! Personal Question Have you and/or the other Allies thought about participating in something like No Shave November or other such things? I think a lot of us would like to see who could grow the best manly viking dwarven over the course of the month. Love and Respect

Anonymous

Congrats! So happy for you! Of course this is the one I missed live. >.>

Hello Father Jones – I thought I would give you a platform to let us know how you feel so far, a week after your announcement. How do you feel about your audience suggesting personal ways to handle being a parent & your baby? You must be getting an enormous amount of advice, which is good don’t get me wrong, but it can be overwhelming. What in your mind would cross the line of helpful advice to “backseat parent”? As a public figure, I assume it can be tough to know how much access you want to give your audience. Just thought this would be interesting for you to answer. Congratulations on the news! – L&R - Rammer

Anonymous

Would it be possible to get a Dreams stream update episode with some of the other Allies playing the early access? We’ve heard Kyle’s thoughts so far but I would love to hear how Ian or Don likes the creator tools so far and what they’ve experimented with.

Anonymous

No pressure Jones, but around the time of the last anniversary you said something along the lines of "more info on the front of Retros very very very soon". It's been more than a month, did something happen? Anything new to share?

Anonymous

Congrats on the baby! Just finished watching Hall of Greats, and I could see the other Allies having a hard time believing Goldeneye is still an enjoyable game to this day. Have you heard of the UltraHDMI? It's a mod for original N64s that allows it to output a HDMI signal to a modern TV, which is sourced directly from the graphics chip making it crystal clear (not like the usual composite to HDMI adapters available). It's the kind of mod that people see and think 'this is how I remember the N64', instead of the washed out mess you get plugging AV directly into a modern flatpanel. It won't help the framerate, but may still help the sell! You should definitely check it out! (Pre-modded consoles are out there, but pricey!)

Anonymous

Congratulations, Papa and Mama Jones! You don't have to include this in your next show. I just wanted to say that the corn dogs at the Little Red Wagon and the Monte Cristo deserve their legendary status. They were both the best I have ever had. The chocolate espresso beignets and butterscotch beignets were divine. The mint Julip was the most refreshing beverage I think I've ever had. I could go on, because everything was just so good (Carnation Cafe is a heavenly place). I even enjoyed the dole whip covered in candied bacon. Lately we have become Disney World regulars, but I will be back again for all of that amazing food.

Anonymous

Hey Jones, Been awhile since I've asked a question. I've noticed Brad and Blood are the only 2 Allies that don't have their own shows or podcast. I know Blood has the Blood Pact, but in terms of the main channel, they're the only 2 without, besides doing reviews or previews. Have they ever expressed any interest in having their own show or are they simply too busy with all their duties?

Anonymous

Hello Brandon, Awesome job on your Goldeneye presentation even though it got no votes. Anyhow, I have three more movies for the does it hold up or not. If you have not seen any that is fine, but do these movies hold up, they are all 80's sci-fi movies. Last Starfighter, Star Trek IV, and War Games

Congratulations! Put "Scoop of Troop" at the end of the Podcast ;)

Hi, Jones. Congratulations to you and Amanda on having a baby. That's wonderful news!!! As for you both deciding on not exposing your baby to the internet - much, I wholly agree and to a certain extent would even prefer if it was limited as much as possible. While both you and Amanda have a famous public life, it's something that you both decided and isn't something that a child should be exposed to imho. In matters like this, I always felt that the less exposed a child is, the better. People don't need to know everything about your life, and a child should be protected from the bad side and incoveniences of fame and the internet as much as possible. Of course, as always that's a judgement call that only the parents can make. So the best of luck in finding that balance. Legacy is something that I didn't care much as a young adult, but the older I got, the more I started to see the meaning and value in being able to pass your wisdom, knowledge, tastes, experiences and possessions to a new generation that hopefully will carry most or at least some of it and pass it to their own children when the time comes. A pass of the torch, so to speak. This legacy will be both intangible and tangible things. Intangible are the life lessons one learns, while tangible are your possessions like physical objects. This last part is something that dawned on me a little over 10 years ago when I was saving all the great games, movies and TV shows I bought and suddenly realized: "Most of these I will never play or watch again, because there's little time to replay something when there's millions of great new things to experience and any time I spend on something I've experienced, is a time I'm not experiencing something new. So who am I saving this for!?!" In my humble opinion, that's a really powerful realization that changed a lot in the way I consume things, I stopped buying Blu-Rays/DVDs and went mostly digital, as well as it started me thinking on the importance of legacy and what is that one wishes to leave for future generations. I wanted to ask you - and Amanda if she's there, what are the things you both or just you are most looking forward to do and/or be as parents? And what are the things you are dreading/anxious? But most important of all, now that you're both going to be parents, have you thought about what kind of legacy that you will leave both while alive and after you're gone and what are the things you most look forward to pass on to your child/children as they grow up? I know you said that you're not thinking about names at the moment, but... I feel like I gotta do this - both comically and sort of serious, shame and all. "Daniel" is a very, very beautiful name. This is really mostly a joke, still I'm just putting it out there, no pressure or anything, whatever name you both decide will be great. On a more serious note, that story about Albus and Amanda you told last week made me emotional, when you got to the part that Amanda opened the fridge and saw the salmon bowl, I almost cried because I can absolutely relate to that. Love you both! L & R

Hey I noticed on the bottom of the EZA home page it says you guys are sponsored by UNIQLO. When did that happen?

Anonymous

(reposting cause I think it didn't make last episode) Personal question: as the token tower guy of Easy Allies, which open world game do you think has the best towers?

Anonymous

Hi Jones, Any chance that Kyle, Huber and yourself shoot a spoiler mode for Barry, I started watching it recently (its great) and I think it would make for a very good spoiler discussion. I knew for a while that Kyle and Huber were both into the show, but only recently during the showcase I found out that you did as well. Can you give your take (possibly a spicy take) on the show, what you liked, didn’t like, etc. Thanks & L&R

Anonymous

Hi Jones. Just started listening to this episode (always late; can't keep up) I don't have a question, just wanted to say congratulations!

Anonymous

It started on the first of the month like all Patreon sponsors. There just hasn't been a podcast yet this month to officially announce it.

Anonymous

Hey Jones, I was wondering if you have ways of tracking metrics for your audio podcasts. I primarily consume EZA through the Patron RSS feed, and it's incredibly convenient (thank you for throwing some one-offs, Spoiler Modes, GoT discussion, etc on there). Do you have a way to know how many times each pod has been downloaded or listened to? I think it'd be a good way to also inform advertisers/sponsor-tier patrons of their reach. I would be interested in seeing (or at least hearing a bit of chatter about) a stats breakdown, like what podcasts are averaging, which are more or less popular, etc. Thank you for all the hard work you do! Matt

Hi Jones, I don't write much but I do have to congratulate you on the baby news. So, congratulations to you and Amanda :) That kid will drive you crazy in all sorts of ways.

Mr. Jones You frequently state that the Easy Allies are a 9 person round table where everyone's opinion matters, but would you be willing to share what King Jones would do differently if you had 100% decision making power? Please indulge yourself a bit if possible with this newfound unlimited hypothetical power. Amanda standby question: What role are you most proud of, or what role would be most eager to land? Morgan Mohalla

Hey, Dad! I have heard various Easy Allies over the years drop nuggets about what some of the Easy Allies are like behind the scenes and not on camera. I also remember hearing how Huber is very much the same person off-camera as he is on-camera. Would you be willing to share how different the rest of your comrades are on-camera vs. off? No need to share specific details, but I'm so curious how much of the persona we see is a bit of staged personality. Thanks! - Bob the dad of an 8-month old!
