Sony is likely releasing lots of cross-platform games because they’re not convinced people who upgraded to a ps4 pro will upgrade to the ps5 right away. Also I think ps4 games running on the ps5 WILL see a significant upgrade, in the loading times...like Cerney already demonstrated. That in and of itself is huge. A 19x faster game. Just because the console will have an SSD it can pull the files from instead of the disk

For one the Old Republic Trailers were produced by a infamous studio Blur which is one of the Holy Grail of 3d studios. Maybe thats why the feel was different :)

The whole Sony censorship thing is really messed up. Japan is a different culture with different standards, and shouldn't be tied down by American morals. Capcom doing what they did seems to me like protesting by doing the bare minimum.

We've also heard from multiple sources that Sony is very unclear to developers on these standards, often forcing them to make detrimental last minute changes and throw out stuff they worked very hard on that they thought would be fine, so I could see Capcom doing it that way as a sign of them being forced to make that change last minute and not having time to do anything better than that which is a whole nother problem on top of them policing developers with their own standards and comes off extremely disrespectful. At least be clear about policies like these if you're going to force them on others.

Sony should stop the censorship it is clearly selective and bad. Also kyle.. PS5 is supposed to be released in 2019 but 7nm tech and manufacturing issues with AMD partners made it a risky move.

Coming up with and implementing solutions to make a multi tenant public facing systems configurable and adaptable way is part of my day job. Assuming the games are essentially PC games, I can think of a bunch of ways Sony could sell 1 version of a PS platform game and it adapt to the system it's on. Both with, or without the need of a server. So, if they don't, it's either because they can make more money by selling a PS4 / PS5 version, i.e. a PS5 version would drive sales of the PS5. Or, they worry users will get confused at 1 version. Or, they couldn't be bothered. I mean, they already do don't they? The PS4 Pro is running PS4 games with settings tweaked.
